Jake Burger 1B | TEX
White Sox's Jake Burger: Delivers crucial homer in win
Burger went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Red Sox.
Burger took Rich Hill deep for a three-run shot in the bottom of the fifth inning, delivering the decisive blow in the White Sox 3-1 win. The homer was his third of the season and his first hit since being recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday. Burger is batting .237 with three home runs, 10 RBI and seven runs over 76 at-bats in 23 games this season. The 26-year-old is currently filling in for Luis Robert (illness) on the active roster and could be sent back to Triple-A when the outfielder returns from the COVID-19 list.

Evan Longoria 3B | ARI
Giants' Evan Longoria: Tallies pair of homers
Longoria went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI on Wednesday against the Mets.
Longoria returned to the lineup after sitting out Tuesday due to a shoulder issue. He made an immediate impact, slugging a three-run home run in the first inning and a solo shot one frame later. Those were his first two homers of the season, and he has only two additional extra-base hits across 40 plate appearances on the campaign.

Jeimer Candelario 3B | LAA
Tigers' Jeimer Candelario: Hits key home run
Candelario went 1-for-4 with a walk and a two-run home run in Wednesday's win over the Twins.
Candelario picked a good time for his only hit of the game, launching his fourth home run of the season in the 10th inning to put the Tigers up 4-2. Even with the long ball, it's been a struggle lately for the third baseman. Candelario is batting just .192 for the season, including .125 over his past 10 games. By comparison, he batted .271 last year and .297 in 2020.

DJ LeMahieu 2B | NYY
Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Not in Wednesday's lineup
LeMahieu (wrist) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus Baltimore.
The 33-year-old received a cortisone injection after being scratched from Tuesday's lineup with left wrist discomfort, so it's not a major surprise he's not back in the starting nine a day later. The Yankees made a bunch of roster moves Wednesday which didn't include LeMahieu heading to the injured list, and that could indicate he's expected to be available within the next couple days.

Willians Astudillo 3B | MIA
Marlins' Willians Astudillo: Contract selected by Miami
Astudillo had his contract selected by the Marlins on Wednesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Astudillo was unable to earn a spot on Miami's Opening Day roster but will now receive a look in the big leagues. The 30-year-old has experience across the diamond but should primarily provide depth at catcher and the corner infield spots.

Taylor Walls SS | TB
Rays' Taylor Walls: On bench Wednesday
Walls is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
With Yandy Diaz (shoulder) returning from a two-game absence to cover third base, Walls will take a seat for the series finale. Even if Diaz ends up seeing most of his starts at the hot corner moving forward, Walls would still have a pathway to playing time at the keystone, where Vidal Brujan hasn't provided much of an impact at the plate while serving as the primary replacement for the injured Brandon Lowe (back).

Evan Longoria 3B | ARI
Giants' Evan Longoria: Back in lineup Wednesday
Longoria (shoulder) is starting Wednesday against the Mets, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
Longoria was held out of Tuesday's win over the Mets after he jammed his shoulder Monday, but he'll start at third base and bat cleanup in Wednesday's series finale. Over his last two games, the 36-year-old has gone 3-for-8 with a double, a run and three strikeouts.

Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL
Reds' Kyle Farmer: Remains out of lineup
Farmer (general soreness) isn't starting Wednesday against the Cubs.
Farmer will be out of the lineup for a third consecutive game due to general soreness, but the issue is considered minor. Matt Reynolds will remain at shortstop and bat ninth.

Trey Cabbage 1B | PIT
Angels' Trey Cabbage: Facing extended absence
Cabbage is expected to miss 3-to-4 months after he was diagnosed with a fractured left forearm, which he suffered Friday in a game for Double-A Rocket City, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Before picking up the injury, Cabbage slashed .327/.434/.664 with 10 home runs and 10 stolen bases over 136 plate appearances. His projected recovery timeline puts him in danger of missing the rest of the season.
