Twins infielder Eduardo Escobar is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Indians.

Escobar played catch before the game at a distance of about 100 feet, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. He hasn't played since Tuesday due to a jammed shoulder.

Escobar is dealing with a jammed shoulder. He has been sidelined since September 16 due to the issue.

The chest contusion and pneumonia that has sidelined Rockies slugging third baseman Nolan Arenado have improved, but he has likely played his last game this season, according to the Denver Post.

If Arenado is indeed done, he will finish the year with a stat line of .287/.328/.500 and 18 home runs in 432 at-bats.

The Brewers are sitting shortstop Jean Segura in St Louis on Thursday in favor of Hector Gomez. He is hitless in 15 at-bats lifetime against Cardinals starter Shelby Miller.

Segura has not driven in a run in his last 21 games.

Twins shortstop Eduardo Escobar underwent an MRI on his right shoulder Wednesday that revealed no structural damage. He was diagnosed with a jammed shoulder and is considered day to day, per mlb.com.

Escobar hurt the shoulder diving for a ball Tuesday and was forced out of the game.

Rays third baseman Evan Longoria clubbed his 22nd home run Wednesday against the Yankees.

Longoria struck in the fourth inning. With the bases empty, Longoria belted a 93 mph fastball out to center for the solo shot. Longoria would drive in another run in his next at-bat on a groundout. He finished 1 for 4, with one run scored and two RBI. 

Twins right fielder Oswaldo Arcia (back) and shortstop Eduardo Escobar (shoulder) remain out Wednesday against visiting Detroit.

Arcia, who sustained the injury Monday, is on a seven-game hitting streak. Escobar suffered his injury Tuesday.

Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado is set to sit again Wednesday against the visiting Dodgers with a chest contusion. Rafael Ynoa has been tabbed to man the position.

Arenado was on a 1-for-13 slide before going down.

An MRI on injured Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado has revealed that Arenado is dealing with a chest contusion and early onset pneumonia, the team announced Tuesday.

Arenado is at home resting Tuesday while recovering. He has hit .287/.328/.500 with 18 home runs and 61 RBI in 432 at-bats.
