It's already the 10th multi-hit effort for De La Cruz through 25 MLB games and his second four-hit performance. After a fast start to his career, De La Cruz had cooled off slightly, going 5-for-36 (.139) with one extra-base hit over his previous eight games. With his big game Tuesday, the 21-year-old infielder boosted his slash line back up to .308/.348/.490 with three homers, 23 runs scored, 13 RBI and 10 steals through 112 plate appearances this season.

Paredes (ribs) is starting at third base and batting fifth Tuesday against the Phillies, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Paredes was involved in a nasty collision with the Mariners' Ty France during Sunday's game, but he escaped without an injury and won't have to miss any contests. The 24-year-old hit his 14th home run of the season Sunday before exiting that tilt.

Cubs' Nick Madrigal: Placed on 10-day IL
The Cubs placed Madrigal on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right hamstring strain, Sahadev Sharma of The Athletic reports.
Madrigal suffered the injury in Monday's series opener against the Brewers and will be sidelined through at least the end of the All-Star break. Christopher Morel is starting at third base Tuesday and Patrick Wisdom (wrist) is back from the IL to help out at the hot corner.

Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Activated from injured list
The Cubs activated Wisdom (wrist) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Wisdom is not in the starting lineup Tuesday versus the Brewers, but he's recovered from the sprained right wrist that sent him to the IL in mid-June and could see semi-regular action at third base with Nick Madrigal (hamstring) needing an IL stint of his own.

Donaldson is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's contest against the Orioles, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.
It marks three times in the last five games that Donaldson has been on the bench, and he's started just one contest at third base over that stretch. He's batting just .131 on the season.

Candelario went 1-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run and a second run scored in Monday's loss to the Reds.
He was in the middle of all the Nationals' offense in a 3-2 loss, getting his team on the board in the fourth inning with a solo shot off Luke Weaver before drawing a walk and coming around to score in the sixth. Candelario has gone yard on back-to-back days, extending his hitting streak to 10 games -- a stretch in which he's batting .351 (13-for-37) with four of his 12 homers on the year.

Garcia went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and two walks in a loss to Minnesota on Monday.
Garcia batted out of the leadoff spot for the third straight game and made his presence felt immediately, launching a homer off Joe Ryan to begin the contest. The talented rookie went on to reach base three more times and finished with his fourth straight multi-hit performance. Over that stretch, Garcia has gone a scorching 11-for-15 with four runs, three RBI, two steals and just one strikeout.
