Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA
Cubs' Patrick Wisdom: Heads to bench
Wisdom will sit Saturday against the Marlins.
Wisdom has earned a near-everyday role this season, starting 29 of the Cubs' first 33 games. With 11 homers and an .899 OPS, he should continue to feature regularly, though his 36.9 percent strikeout rate remains worryingly high. After striking out seven times across his last two games, he'll sit in favor of Nick Madrigal.

Kevin Newman 3B | LAA
Reds' Kevin Newman: Nabs first steal of 2023
Newman went 1-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base in Friday's 5-4 loss to the White Sox.
Starting at shortstop and batting eighth, Newman picked up his first steal of the season in the third inning before coming home on a TJ Friedl double. Newman has started six straight games and eight of the last nine, spotting in all around the infield, but he's batting just .258 (8-for-31) over that stretch with zero extra-base hits, three runs and three RBI. Despite the increased playing time, Newman's fantasy value remains mainly limited to NL-only formats.

J.D. Davis 1B | LAA
Giants' J.D. Davis: Smacks seventh homer of year
Davis went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Friday's 6-4 win over the Brewers.
Davis went yard in the bottom of the first, tying the game at 2-2. The former Met is on pace to have his highest home run total since 2019, when he hit a career-high 22 long balls. The infielder is now slashing .280/.352/.527 on the year.

Ramon Urias 3B | STL
Orioles' Ramon Urias: Three more hits in win
Urias went 3-for-5 with two strikeouts in Friday's 9-4 win over Atlanta.
This was his second straight multi-hit effort, though he started this game after being a big contributor off the bench Thursday versus the Royals. Urias still doesn't have an everyday position, but the utility infielder is making a strong case to be in the lineup regularly. He's slashing .299/.384/.414 with one home run, 15 RBI, 12 runs scored, two stolen bases and seven doubles through 99 plate appearances this season.

Max Muncy 3B | LAD
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Leaves with illness
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters that Muncy left Friday's game against the Diamondbacks due to an illness, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
The Dodgers replaced the infielder with Chris Taylor at third base. For now, Muncy should be considered day-to-day with a good chance of returning before the end of the weekend.

Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL
Yankees' Josh Donaldson: Logging some activity
Donaldson (hamstring) took grounders and batted on the field at Yankee Stadium on Monday, and he worked out at the Yankees' complex in Tampa, Florida on Friday, per MLB.com.
Donaldson is dealing with a "Grade 1-plus strain" of his right hamstring, which resulted in a rehab stint being halted after just one game April 18. The veteran third baseman's recent activity suggests that he's improving, though there's been no word from the organization about an estimated return date. It stands to reason that Donaldson would need to re-start a minor-league rehab assignment before he's eventually cleared to return to the big club.

Oswald Peraza 3B | LAA
Yankees' Oswald Peraza: Unavailable due to sprain
Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters that Peraza (ankle) is day-to-day with his right ankle sprain, and he won't be available for Friday's game against the Rays, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.
Boone did say that the swelling has gone down in Peraza's right ankle, but the team will stay away from him Friday. Whether Peraza is able to play this weekend will likely depend on whether that swelling continues to subside, but it's positive news that he's already making progress.

Nick Maton DH | CHW
Tigers' Nick Maton: Out versus lefty
Maton isn't starting Friday against the Cardinals.
The lefty-hitting Maton will get a day off against the lefty-throwing Jordan Montgomery on Friday. Zack Short will start at third base and bat eighth while Maton sits.

Oswald Peraza 3B | LAA
Yankees' Oswald Peraza: Not in Friday's lineup
Peraza (ankle) is absent from the Yankees' lineup Friday, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports.
Peraza rolled his right ankle while running the bases in Wednesday's game versus the Guardians. He was seen testing it out pregame, per Greg Joyce of the New York Post, but it's not clear whether he will be available off the bench.
