Giants' Curt Casali: Drives in both runs in win
Casali went 1-for-4 with a pair of RBI in Saturday's 2-0 win over Atlanta.
The 32-year-old provided the only scoring play of the game, plating LaMonte Wade and Brandon Crawford with a four-inning single. Casali has posted a .214/.314/.359 slash line with five home runs, 26 RBI, 20 runs scored and 11 doubles in 221 plate appearances. He'll continue to play roughly twice a week as backup to Buster Posey.

Giants' Chadwick Tromp: Bumped from 40-man roster
Tromp was designated for assignment on Saturday, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Tromp has appeared in nine games for the Giants this season, but he's spent most of the year at Triple-A Sacramento, where he had a .224/.265/.380 slash line in 55 games. He could return to Sacramento if he goes unclaimed on waivers.

Brewers' Omar Narvaez: Not in Saturday's lineup
Narvaez is out of the lineup Saturday versus the Cubs, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Narvaez started the past three games and will receive the day off Saturday. Manny Pina will catch for Corbin Burnes and bat sixth in his place.

Brewers' Luke Maile: Optioned to minors
Maile was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Saturday.
Maile had served as the team's third catcher since being recalled Sept. 12. He made only one appearance in that span, collecting one hit in two at-bats and scoring two runs. With Avisail Garcia (back) out of the lineup for the last few days, the team called up Tim Lopes to serve as a versatile bench option.

Nola is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Cardinals.
Nola had drawn four consecutive starts behind the plate, so he'll get a day off. Victor Caratini will take over behind the plate and hit eighth.

Pirates' Jacob Stallings: Sitting Saturday
Stallings is not in Saturday's lineup against the Marlins, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Stallings has collected at least one hit in eight of his 11 starts in September. He'll draw a day of rest Saturday, with Michael Perez taking over behind the plate.

Marlins' Nick Fortes: Draws first start
Fortes is hitting seventh and starting behind the plate Saturday against Pittsburgh, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Fortes had his contract selected Friday, and he is set to make his big-league debut one day later. A fourth-round pick in the 2018 MLB draft, Fortes played at both Double-A and Triple-A this season. Most recently, he hit .237/.322/.378 across 152 plate appearances at Triple-A Jacksonville. The Marlins also selected the contract of Payton Henry on Friday, so the team could have a duo of young backstops starting the majority of the games to close the season.

Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Blasts three-run shot
D'Arnaud went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Friday's loss against the Giants.
D'Arnaud came close to being the hero for Atlanta, as his three-run bomb gave the team a one-run lead heading into the bottom of the ninth. The backstop has hit safely in five of his last six games but is hitting a mere .238 with a .843 OPS across 13 contests this month.

Smith is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against Cincinnati, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Smith hits the bench after starting six of the last seven games behind the plate. Austin Barnes enters the lineup in his place, catching Max Scherzer.
