Naylor is starting at catcher and batting ninth Tuesday against the Athletics.

Naylor batted eighth Sunday in his first start with the Guardians this season and has moved down one spot for Tuesday's tilt. He will be looking for his first major-league hit.

Murphy (hamstring) remains absent from the starting lineup Tuesday versus the Phillies.

Murphy tweaked his right hamstring Saturday and hasn't played since, though imaging scans showed only inflammation and he is expected to avoid the injured list. Travis d'Arnaud will catch and bat cleanup for Atlanta on Tuesday.

Ruiz is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Cardinals.

Ruiz will grab a routine breather after starting behind the plate for the Nationals in five of their last six games. Riley Adams is catching Tuesday and hitting seventh.

Stephenson is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Rockies.

Curt Casali is starting at catcher and batting ninth versus the visiting Rockies and right-hander Noah Davis. Joey Votto will serve as the Reds' designated hitter and bat sixth. Stephenson has gone 0-for-8 with three strikeouts over his last two games and holds a disappointing .681 OPS on the year.

The Orioles selected Bemboom's contract from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Bemboom was up briefly with the O's earlier this season, reaching base once in three plate appearances. He'll operate as Adley Rutschman's backup while James McCann (ankle) is out.

Godoy was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Godoy was up with the big club as their backup catcher for a couple days, but the Orioles have elected to swap him out with Anthony Bemboom. The 28-year-old will head back to Norfolk to join the affiliate's catching corps.

Vazquez went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk Monday in a loss to the Red Sox.

Vazquez accounted for all of Minnesota's runs in the contest with his three-run shot in the fifth inning. It was the first long ball in what has been a poor offensive campaign for the backstop, as he's posted a .224/.299/.286 slash line over 164 plate appearances. Vazquez went deep 23 times for Boston in in 2019 but hasn't exceeded double-digit homers in any of his other eight major-league campaigns.

Alvarez was removed from Monday's game against the Astros after fouling a ball off his right hand, but initial X-rays came back negative, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports. He went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored prior to his departure.

Alvarez will presumably undergo more tests Tuesday to determine the severity of his injury, but it's very possible the young backstop is held out of Tuesday's lineup. Fantasy managers should consider him as day-to-day for now.

Contreras is not in the starting lineup Monday versus the Diamondbacks.

Contreras will head to the bench after he went 2-for-3 with a triple, an RBI, a run scored and a walk in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Pirates. Victor Caratini continues to operate as Corbin Burnes' preferred catcher and he will bat eighth in the series opener with Arizona on Monday.

The Blue Jays recalled Heineman from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday.

He'll provide the Blue Jays with an extra body at catcher behind No. 1 backstop Danny Jansen after Alejandro Kirk (hand) was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday. Jansen should handle the bulk of the work behind the dish while Kirk is on the shelf, so Heineman may be in store for just a couple starts per week during his upcoming stint in the big leagues.
