The Mets reinstated Narvaez (calf) from the 60-day injured list Monday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Narvaez is finally ready to roll after missing the past two months with a severe calf strain. Francisco Alvarez has seized the Mets' starting catcher job, but Narvaez should still play at least a couple times per week when Alvarez is serving as a designated hitter or receiving a day off.

Nido is expected to be designated for assignment to clear a spot on the 40-man and 26-man rosters for Omar Narvaez (calf), Andy Martino of SNY.tv reports.

The Mets will go with Francisco Alvarez and Narvaez as their catching combination as Nido gets squeezed out of a job. Nido is regarded as a terrific defender, but that part of his game has taken a step back this season and he's been worse than ever as a hitter with a lowly .278 OPS. Mike Puma of the New York Post hears that the Mets are expected to trade Nido.

Caratini went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Reds.

Carantini's homer off Ben Lively was his third of the season and his first since May 9. His two-hit performance was also his first multi-hit effort since May 4. Carantini is now just 3-for-26 (.148) in his last seven games. For the season, he's slashing .216/.301/.338 with 10 RBI through 83 plate appearances while backing up William Contreras in Milwaukee.

Stallings went 1-for-3 with an RBI in Sunday's win over the A's.

His fourth-inning sacrifice fly helped the Marlins come back from an early 5-1 deficit. Stallings has split the workload behind the plate with Nick Fortes this season, seeing 99 plate appearances to Fortes' 125, but it's his glove that keeps him in the mix, not his bat. Stallings is slashing a putrid .161/.227/.218 with zero homers, seven runs and eight RBI.

Amaya went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and two runs scored in Sunday's 7-1 win over the Padres.

Amaya's home run in the third inning against Drew Carlton was the first of his MLB career. The 24-year-old, who debuted with the Cubs earlier this year, was just recalled from Triple-A Iowa on Saturday to replace Justin Steele (forearm) on the roster. Veterans Yan Gomes and Tucker Barnhart are mainstays behind the plate, but Amaya could push the issue if he hits well and Chicago decides it wants to go younger at some point.

Gomes went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Sunday's 7-1 win over the Padres.

Gomes is now up to seven home runs to go with a .271 batting average and .752 OPS. The veteran backstop had eight home runs all of last season and batted .235 with a .625 OPS. That makes the early-season production a bit unexpected, but fantasy managers in deeper leagues can continue to plug in Gomes while he's hot.

The Astros plan to option Salazar to Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday, Mark Berman of Fox 26 reports.

Salazar began the 2023 season on the Astros' major-league roster, but he's played in just 10 games and has hit .143 with a run. The 27-year-old should have an opportunity to see more consistent playing time in the minors.

Knizner went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Pirates.

Knizner provided the Cardinals' lone run with a seventh-inning blast off Pirates starter Rich Hill. While playing time is once again scarce for Knizner, he's homered in each of his last two games and hit safely in four of his last five contests. He's at a .232/.259/.476 slash line with five homers, 12 RBI, 12 runs scored and a stolen base over 86 plate appearances -- solid numbers for a backup catcher.

Sabol went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 8-3 loss to the Orioles.

Sabol went yard in the sixth inning to get the Giants on the board. He's hit safely in five of his last six games, going 7-for-23 (.304) over that stretch. With Joey Bart (groin) expected back soon, Sabol's hot stretch should help him maintain his place on the roster. For the season, the Rule 5 pick has slashed .254/.318/.442 with seven homers, 18 RBI, 17 runs scored and two stolen bases through 151 plate appearances.

McCann went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Sunday's 8-3 win over the Giants.

McCann has seen little playing time as backup to Adley Rutschman this year. In that limited action, McCann has struggled to make an impact, though this is the third time in his last four games he's knocked an extra-base hit. The veteran catcher is slashing just .195/.244/.364 with three homers, six RBI, nine runs scored and a stolen base over 82 plate appearances this season.
