Alejandro Kirk C | TOR
Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk: Resting Tuesday
Kirk is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cubs.

Tomas Nido C | DET
Mets' Tomas Nido: Sits Tuesday
Nido is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers.
Nido and James McCann look to be stuck in a true timeshare at catcher, with each having now picked up three starts apiece over the Mets' last six contests. Even if the playing time eventually tilts more heavily in Nido's favor, he's unlikely to provide much fantasy value. In 249 plate appearances on the season, Nido is hitting .221 with no home runs and no stolen bases.

Will Smith C | LAD
Dodgers' Will Smith: Sitting out Tuesday
Smith is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mets, according to Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA.
Smith hit a two-run home run in Monday's game, but manager Dave Roberts decided to hold him out Tuesday for the second time in three days. Austin Barnes will start behind the plate in Smith's place.

Shea Langeliers C | ATH
Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Not starting Tuesday
Langeliers is on the bench Tuesday against the Nationals.
It's been a rough past couple games for Langeliers, as he's struck out six times while going 0-for-9. Stephen Vogt is filling in as the designated hitter Tuesday.

Reese McGuire C | CHW
Red Sox's Reese McGuire: Draws third straight start
McGuire will start at catcher and bat ninth in Tuesday's game against the Twins, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.
McGuire has been on the bench for stretches of two and three straight contests over the past couple weeks, but he'll be picking up his third consecutive turn behind the dish Tuesday. The playing-time situation at catcher remains a difficult one to predict, but McGuire looks to have the edge over Kevin Plawecki at the moment.

Eric Haase C | SF
Tigers' Eric Haase: Takes seat Tuesday
Haase isn't starting Tuesday's game against the Mariners.
Haase went 1-for-4 with a pair of runs Sunday and is hitting .250 over his last seven games. Tucker Barnhart will catch and bat eighth Tuesday.

Jacob Stallings C | BAL
Marlins' Jacob Stallings: Rests Tuesday
Stallings is on the bench Tuesday versus Tampa Bay, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
An 0-for-5, two-strikeout performance Monday lowered Stallings' slash line to .314/.385/.429 over the last 10 games. Nick Fortes is filling in to catch Tuesday.

Joey Bart C | ATL
Giants' Joey Bart: Enters concussion protocol
Giants manager Gabe Kapler said after Monday's 6-5 loss to the Padres that Bart is in the concussion protocol but is dealing with only mild symptoms, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
Kapler didn't rule out the possibility of Bart clearing the concussion protocol and starting behind the plate in Tuesday's game, but the Giants will more than likely err on the side of caution and hold the young backstop out for the contest. If that's the case, Austin Wynns, who came on to replace Bart in Monday's loss, will likely be behind the plate Tuesday.

Joey Bart C | ATL
Giants' Joey Bart: Leaves contest early
Bart was removed from Monday's game against the Padres due to an undisclosed injury, Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Bart took a foul tip to the mask early in the game and was spotted being checked out by the training staff before the start of the fourth inning, but he remained in the game until the bottom of the fifth. He's likely headed back to the clubhouse for further testing. Austin Wynns replaced Bart behind the dish.

Yainer Diaz C | HOU
Astros' Yainer Diaz: MLB debut coming soon
Diaz will have his contract selected from Triple-A Sugar Land when rosters expand Sept. 1, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Diaz will need to wait a few more days before officially receiving his first chance in the big leagues. He will not only add depth behind the dish down the stretch, but he also has experience at first base and the corner-outfield spots. The 23-year-old began his 2022 campaign in Double-A before getting promoted to Triple-A on June 21, where he's slashed .294/.342/.587 with 16 home runs, 48 RBI, one stolen base and 38 runs scored over 48 games.
