MLB.com reports the Marlins reassigned Doug Mathis, Mitch Talbot, Ed Lucas and J.T. Realmuto to minor-league camp Wednesday.

Giants manager Bruce Bochy told Comcast SportsNet Bay Area that catcher Hector Sanchez could miss opening day as he continues to nurse a shoulder injury. Sanchez has not appeared in a Cactus League game since March 12. The Giants are expected to take a cautious approach with the 23-year-old since it is a recurring injury.

CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman reported Sunday the Mets have been impressed with catcher prospect Travis d'Arnaud this spring and expect to promote him sometime later this summer.

I anticipate d'Arnaud might come up at the same time as pitching prospect Zack Wheeler, who is also ticketed for Triple-A Las Vegas. The Mets seem keen on making sure those two develop rapport since they are expected to be integral part of the battery for years to come.

If you are in a deeper seasonal format, whether it be mixed or NL-only, I would stash d'Arnaud on your bench, if you have ample reserve spots. d'Arnaud can be an impact bat at a usually thin position, so he certainly is worth the gamble in deeper formats on Draft Day.

He slugged .542 in 114 games at Double-A in 2011 and slugged .595 in 67 games at Triple-A last season before hurting his knee. If those numbers translate well to the major-league level, then d'Arnaud could be a Fantasy staple for years to come.

CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman reports Mets catcher prospect Travis d'Arnaud, who was acquired from Toronto in the R.A. Dickey trade this offseason, has impressed the Mets' front office this spring.

He is slated to begin the year at Triple-A Las Vegas, but he's expected to be promoted to the majors sometime this season.

d'Arnaud, who is considered a top 100 prospect by MLB.com (No. 6) and Baseball America (No. 23), is batting .308 (8 for 26) with two RBI, three doubles and five runs in 12 spring games. 

The Astros announced Sunday they reassigned Sergio Escalona, C.J. Fick, Che-Hsuan Lin, Carlos Perez, Josh Zeid, Paul Clemens, Robbie Grossman, Dallas Keuchel, Jimmy Paredes and Jonathan Villar to minor-league camp.

Indians catcher/first baseman Yan Gomes will be sidelined for three to four days with a right-hamstring injury, The Plain Dealer reported Saturday. Gomes suffered the injury Friday. Gomes is 10 for 26 (.385) with a homer and six RBI in 14 Cactus League games. 

Mets catching prospect Travis d'Arnaud was 1 for 2 with a double and a run scored in a 4-2 loss to Miami in Grapefruit League play Saturday. d'Arnaud, considered the sixth-best prospect in the minors by MLB.com, continued to have no problems after being removed from a game earlier this month when he was hit by a pitch just below his right elbow.

In fact, he sat just one day after the early exit on March 8, which was considered a precaution, before returning to the lineup. d'Arnaud, projected to open the regular season with Triple-A Las Vegas, is hitting .308 with three walks this spring.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported that the Giants have shut down catcher Hector Sanchez for a few days due to a sore shoulder. Sanchez should resume baseball activities Tuesday and will likely get a few extra swings in minor-league games before he is ready to return.

Indians catcher/infielder Yan Gomes was forced out of Friday's Cactus League contest against the Brewers with tightness and cramping in his right hamstring. Gomes, who is fighting for a roster spot, is batting .333 with a home run and six RBI in 13 spring training games this year. 

MLB.com reports Yankees manager Joe Girardi hasn't decided who his opening-day catcher will be between Francisco Cervelli or Chris Stewart, but he appears happy with the tandem as spring training winds down. 

"I think these guys have played pretty well in camp. They've done a nice job with our staff," Girardi said. "Coming into camp, I think there were some questions about Cervy a little bit about throwing, because he had struggled in the past, but we had seen him really good when he first came up. I think he's back to that level again."

Girardi also hasn't figured out how he will split up playing time between the two catchers.

"It can work out pretty well, actually," Girardi said. "You can do it that way, keep them fresh, they know when they're playing. I think that's the big thing if you can sort it out as soon as you can, so they have a plan of when they're playing. I think that's important."
