Lewis (knee) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game in Baltimore.

Lewis was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Astros, with manager Scott Servais relaying afterward that the Mariners were playing the "long game" with the 26-year-old, who underwent knee surgery last June, per the Associated Press. Servais suggested that Lewis' absence Sunday was due to a desire not to have him play three days in a row, but with Lewis still on the bench after Monday's off day, it's worth wondering if he may have suffered a setback. Whatever the case, Jesse Winker will serve as the Mariners' designated hitter while Lewis is on the bench for the second game in a row.

Cabrera (back) will start at designated hitter and bat third for the Tigers in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Twins.

He rejoins the lineup after sitting out Detroit's previous two games with lower-back tightness. Though his inclusion in the starting nine suggests that his back is no longer much of a concern, the 39-year-old could be a candidate to sit in the second game of the twin bill as the Tigers aim to keep him fresh.

Alvarez went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Monday's 5-1 win over the Athletics.

Alvarez took Paul Blackburn deep in the first inning to give the Astros an early 1-0 lead before later launching another solo shot in the eighth frame off A.J. Puk. He now has 14 homers on the season and the two long balls ended a 10-game homerless streak for the slugger. Alvarez has notched three multi-hit games over his last four contests, raising his batting average from .246 to .260 over that stretch.

Miller (hip) was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Miller was removed from Sunday's game against Oakland due to right hip tightness, and the issue is apparently significant enough to prompt a trip to the injured list. Eli White should see additional playing time in Miller's absence, while the Rangers selected Josh Smith's contract as part of a corresponding move.

Buxton is not in the starting lineup for Monday's game versus the Tigers, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Buxton will get a breather after starting two straight games, going 2-for-8 with a double and a run scored. Nick Gordon is starting in center field and batting eighth in the contest.

Cabrera (back) is not starting in Monday's contest versus the Twins, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Still dealing with a back injury, Cabrera will miss his second consecutive game. Harold Castro is starting at designated hitter and batting leadoff in Monday's matchup.

Choi went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two runs scored Sunday against the Yankees.

Choi led off the second inning by slugging his fourth home run of the season. He's struggled since returning from an elbow injury May 8 by hitting just .185, though he does have two long balls in his last five starts. Overall, Choi has maintained a .260/.374/.458 line across 115 plate appearances on the campaign.

Alvarez went 2-for-4 with an RBI on Sunday against the Mariners.

Alvarez broke a tie at one in the eighth inning by lining an RBI single to the opposite field. Despite the solid performance, Alvarez hasn't homered since May 17, and he has only two extra-base hits across 34 at-bats in that span. Even so, it's hard to be too worried about Alvarez's production given that he has a .381 wOBA and 158 wRC+ across 175 plate appearances on the campaign.

Ohtani went 2-for-3 with a pair of home runs, three RBI, a walk and a hit-by-pitch in Sunday's 11-10 loss to the Blue Jays.

Ohtani took Blue Jays starter Jose Berrios deep in his first two at-bats Sunday. That snapped an 0-for-12 skid at the dish for Ohtani, who recently overcame some minor back stiffness. The two-way star is slashing .249/.325/.470 with 11 homers, 32 RBI, 34 runs scored, seven stolen bases and eight doubles through 48 contests. Sunday was his third multi-homer game of the year.

Brantley went 1-for-3 with a stolen base and a walk in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Mariners.

At 35 years old, it's no surprise Brantley isn't running as often as he used to -- this was his second attempt and first successful steal of the year. The veteran outfielder hasn't attempted more than five steals since 2018, so any speed contributions are icing on the cake. With the bat, he's hit safely in eight of the last 10 games, going 8-for-31 (.258) in that span. He's posted a steady .280/.367/.408 slash line with three home runs, 16 RBI, 16 runs scored, nine doubles and a triple in 42 contests this season.
