Manager Aaron Boone said after Wednesday's win over the Orioles that Stanton is dealing with right ankle inflammation rather than a calf strain as previously announced, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports.

The 32-year-old's injury was labeled as a calf issue when he exited Tuesday's contest and when he was placed on the 10-day injured list earlier Wednesday, but it instead appears he's managing an ankle issue. It's unclear exactly how long Stanton will be out, but Boone hopes the slugger will be able to be activated when first eligible June 4.

Stanton was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a right calf strain.

Stanton underwent an MRI on Wednesday morning after suffering the injury during Tuesday's contest against the Orioles, and he'll now be sidelined for at least the next 10 days. The severity of the strain is not yet clear, and there's no official timeline for the 32-year-old's return. Joey Gallo (illness) was activated from the COVID-19 injured list in a corresponding move.

Miller isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Miller has started against just one left-handed pitcher this season, and he'll take a seat with southpaw Reid Detmers on the mound for the Angels on Wednesday. Eli White is starting in left field and batting ninth.

Reyes is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.

After kicking off May by producing a 1.256 OPS through the Guardians' first six games of the month, Reyes has taken a big step back offensively. In his subsequent 11 contests, Reyes has gone 4-for-36 with one extra-base hit (a double) and 14 strikeouts. Josh Naylor will handle designated-hitter duties Wednesday while Reyes gets a day off to clear his head.

Winker went 2-for-5 with two runs in a loss to the Athletics on Tuesday.

The Mariners' first loss to the Athletics in 14 games was a mixed bag for Winker, who was productive out of the leadoff spot but also committed a fielding error that allowed the go-ahead run to score in the seventh inning. Winker's current .219/.310/.300 slash line is still falling well below expectations based on his previous body of work, but he's shown a bit more life at the plate recently by reaching safely in 10 of his last 11 games.

Lewis (knee) went 2-for-4 in a loss to the Athletics on Tuesday, a game that marked his 2022 debut.

Lewis finally logged major-league game action after completing his recovery from June 2021 knee surgery. The talented outfielder wasted no time breaking the ice at the plate after a productive rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma, and he should be a near-everyday fixture in the Mariners lineup moving forward barring any setbacks.

Ford is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics.

With Kyle Lewis (knee) making his return from the 10-day injured list Tuesday and serving as Seattle's designated hitter, Ford's time as a regular in the Mariners lineup looks to be over. He'll be on the bench Wednesday for the third game in a row.

Torrens will start at catcher and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Athletics.

Though he'll be included in the lineup for the series finale, Torrens seems to have slipped behind Cal Raleigh on the depth chart at catcher. Torrens will be starting Wednesday for only the fourth time in nine games, with one of those starts coming as a designated hitter.

Cabrera isn't starting Wednesday's series finale against the Twins.

Cabrera will get a breather Wednesday after starting four straight games, going 5-for-16 with a double and two RBI in those contests. Javier Baez will take over at designated hitter while Harold Castro enters the lineup at shortstop and bats second as the Tigers try to avoid the sweep.

Alvarez went 1-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI on Tuesday against the Guardians.

Alvarez delivered an RBI single in the fifth inning and came around to score in the same frame. He's hit just .167 across his last 10 games but has still driven in four and scored five runs in that span. Overall, Alvarez has maintained a 164 wRC+ with 12 home runs, 26 runs scored and 25 RBI across 159 plate appearances.
