Choi will head to the bench for Tuesday's game against the Yankees, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

AJ Reed DH | HOU
White Sox's AJ Reed: Back in lineup against righty
Reed went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts in Monday's 5-2 loss to Kansas City.
Reed was back in the lineup with a right-hander dealing for the Royals, the third start in four games for left-handed hitter. He's 1-for-10 with five strikeouts since the White Sox claimed him off waivers. Chicago manager Rick Renteria will give Reed a fair shot to earn a regular role as DH/1B, but the manager may not give him the rest of the season to start hitting. Renteria moved on from Daniel Palka (1-for-35) earlier this season after 13 games.

Michael Brantley LF | HOU
Astros' Michael Brantley: Heads to bench
Brantley isn't starting Monday's game against the Angels, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Brantley picked up a pair of hits and an RBI in Sunday's matchup with the Rangers, but he'll take a seat for Monday's series opener. Tony Kemp will man left field and hit eighth in Brantley's stead.

Ji-Man Choi 1B | NYM
Rays' Ji-Man Choi: Sitting against lefty
Choi is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
Both Choi and Nate Lowe will head to the bench with a southpaw (James Paxton) on the bump for New York, but the two could be fighting for one spot in Tampa Bay's regular lineup against right-handed pitchers. Even though Choi is the more battled-tested option at the MLB level, Lowe boasts a higher pedigree and may have surged ahead of Choi in the playing-time battle after batting .471 with three home runs and seven RBI in the four-game series in Baltimore over the weekend.
