Canha went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two runs in a win over the Twins on Tuesday.

Canha gave the Athletics some key breathing room in the seventh inning with a 422-foot shot to left that extended their lead to two runs, ultimately their final margin of victory. The veteran has picked up steam at the plate over the last six games, a stretch during which he's 6-for-19 with a double, two homers, three RBI, five walks and seven runs across 25 plate appearances.

Reyes went 2-for-4 with a solo home run Tuesday in the Padres' 10-4 loss to the Giants.

The home run was Reyes' team-leading 25th of the season and his fifth long ball in the last week alone. While the steady power production makes Reyes a solid fantasy option in most mixed leagues, he's merely a neutral asset in terms of batting average (.252) and doesn't contribute as a base stealer.

Choi was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left ankle sprain Wednesday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Choi has been solid bat for the Rays this season, slashing .266/.351/.423 with nine homers in 70 games. His absence could mean more starts for Yandy Diaz at first base, potentially opening up the hot corner for Joey Wendle. However, the Rays have several versatile players on their roster, so multiple configurations are possible. One of those options, utility man Michael Brosseau, was recalled Wednesday to take Choi's place on the roster. For the time being, Choi remains without a clear timetable for return.

Cabrera is out of the lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the White Sox.

Cabrera was scheduled to serve as the Tigers' designated hitter in Tuesday's series opener before the contest was rained out, so he's presumably just receiving rest for the front end of the twin bill. Expect him to return to the lineup for the second contest as the DH.

Soler went 2-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Tuesday's 9-5 loss to Cleveland.

It's his second homer in three games and 23rd of the season -- an impressive number for a player whose career high was 12 coming into 2019. Soler's .238/.305/.506 slash line does limit his fantasy appeal, but the 27-year-old is finally starting to cash in on the promise he showed as a Cubs prospect.

Ozuna (fingers) saw a hand specialist Tuesday but remains without a firm timetable for return, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports. "It's just a matter with how quickly he can get strength back to where he can sustain it for the remainder of the season," manager Mike Shildt said. "Pretty wide spectrum of the possibility of time, but this week will be important to get his treatment. How it heals this week will be a big factor."

Ozuna suffered multiple finger fractures in his right hand on a pickoff attempt against the Padres on Friday, and as Rogers' report indicates, it's likely going to be some time before he's back at full capacity. Given that power hitting is such a critical component of Ozuna's offensive profile, the regaining of full strength in his fingers will be critical to him sustaining the same level of production he generated prior to the injury.

Carpenter (back) expects to return from the injured list immediately after the All-Star break July 12, Mark Saxon of The Athletic reports.

Carpenter was bedridden for 40 hours over the weekend due to a stomach issue and then ended up tweaking his back. The back strain doesn't appear overly serious, but the Cardinals decided to play things safe and take advantage of the All-Star break to aid in his recovery. Tommy Edman and Yairo Munoz figure to fill in at third base during his absence.

Turner had X-rays on his elbow and wrist come back negative after he was hit by a pitch Sunday, Alanna Rizzo of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.

Turner didn't actually start Sunday but was hit by a pitch in his pinch-hit appearance. The 34-year-old is taking Tuesday to rest up but appears to have avoided a serious injury. Edwin Rios is starting at third base in his absence.

Dickerson isn't in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against San Diego, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Dickerson will head to the bench for the third straight contest with another lefty slated to toe the rubber for the opposition. Tyler Austin will once again man left field and bat third.

Ohtani will sit Tuesday against lefty Mike Minor and the Rangers.

Ohtani has a perfectly respectable 102 career wRC+ against southpaws, though that's nowhere close to his 169 mark against righties, so it makes sense for his off days to come with lefties on the mound. Mike Trout will rest his legs as the designated hitter Tuesday, with Brian Goodwin starting in center field.
