Martinez went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, two runs and two RBI in Sunday's loss to Arizona.

Martinez isn't known for his speed around the bases, but his third-inning, run-scoring triple ensured that his streak of campaigns with at least one three-bagger (aside from the shortened 2020 season) reached nine. The veteran plated another run with an eighth-inning double, pushing his RBI total to nine on the season. Martinez is tied for second in the league with six doubles so far in 2023.

Jimenez (hamstring) was spotted taking batting practice on the field prior to Monday's game against the Twins, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

Since hitting the injured list this past Wednesday with a left hamstring strain, Jimenez has already resumed light running and hitting, activities that suggest he's progressing well in his recovery. Jimenez remains hopeful that his absence will be limited to around two weeks, but while he's sidelined, Gavin Sheets should hold down a strong-side platoon role in the Chicago lineup.

Buxton is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the White Sox.

Jose Miranda will get a day out of the field and step in as the designated hitter while Buxton rests for the second time this season as Minnesota opens its series with Chicago with a day game. Buxton has struck out at least once in each of his eight starts, but he's also produced at least one hit in seven of those contests while slashing .324/.361/.500 overall.

Ohtani went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run, a walk and two additional runs scored during Sunday's 12-11 loss to the Blue Jays.

Ohtani scored on an Anthony Rendon single during the opening frame and extended the Halos lead to 5-0 with a two-run homer during the third inning, but the Blue Jays stormed back to take the game and series win. Through nine games this season, the two-way star has a .333/.436/.667 slash line with three home runs and nine RBI, and he's been dominant on the mound in two starts with a 0.75 ERA and 18:7 K:BB over 12 innings.

Ramirez went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, three runs scored and two RBI in Sunday's win over the Athletics.

Ramirez went 0-for-8 over his first three games of the year but has turned things around recently, tallying three home runs and a double over his last four matchups. The 28-year-old has been competing with Luke Raley for time as the designated hitter, and it remains to be seen whether Ramirez will be able to maintain his production since he totaled just 13 home runs over the last two seasons.

Carpenter is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta.

With Atlanta bringing rookie southpaw Dylan Dodd to the hill Sunday, the lefty-hitting Carpenter will hit the bench for the second time in the series. Carpenter's platoon mate, Nelson Cruz, will replace him as the Friars' designated hitter.

Reds vice president of player development Shawn Pender announced that Encarnacion-Strand (back) has resumed baseball activities, Mark Shelton of MLB.com reports.

Both Encarnacion-Strand and Elly De La Cruz (hamstring) have been cleared to resume activities. Encarnacion-Strand is working his way back from a slight herniation in his back, and the hope is that he will be ready by April 24. Encarnacion-Strand really impressed during his short stint in the Cactus League, and he has a chance to make his MLB debut with the Reds at some point this summer.

Astros general manager Dana Brown said Sunday that he's hopeful that Brantley (shoulder) will be ready to return from the 10-day injured list around the first week of May, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

When spring training ended in late March, Brantley stayed behind at the Astros' camp in Florida to continue his rehab from the right shoulder labrum repair surgery he underwent last August. Brantley hasn't hit any reported snags while he continues to ramp up in Florida, but he still has yet to play in any simulated games. Once he's deemed ready for game action, Brantley will likely require multiple games at camp or at a minor-league affiliate before he's formally reinstated from the IL. The Astros have been rotating a number of players at the designated-hitter spot for the first week and a half of the season while Brantley has been on the shelf.

Pederson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Pederson will join fellow lefty-hitting everyday players Mike Yastrzemski, Blake Sabol and LaMonte Wade on the bench for the series finale while southpaw Kris Bubic takes the hill for Kansas City. J.D. Davis will replace Pederson as the Giants' designated hitter.

Meneses is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Meseses will get his first day off of the young season while Stone Garrett steps in to spell him as the Nationals' designated hitter. While starting each of the first nine games, Meneses has yet to hit a home run and has scored just four times to go with one RBI.
