Ramirez (thumb) was activated from the injured list Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Timesreports.

Ramirez made it through a rehab game Sunday without issue, and that was all the Rays needed to see before adding him back to the roster. Ramirez is hitting .329 and owns an .825 OPS on the season, so it seems likely he will resume his role as the Rays' regular designated hitter.

Atlanta selected Goins' contract from Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday.

The addition of Goins provides Atlanta with a utility option in the infield after Ehire Adrianza (illness) was placed on the COVID-19 injured list over the weekend before being transferred to the 10-day IL. Vaughn Grissom, Dansby Swanson and Austin Riley are still expected to see the overwhelming majority of starts at second base, shortstop and third base, respectively, so Goins' opportunities with Atlanta are likely to be scarce while he's up with the club. The 34-year-old was hitting .220/.249/.271 in 250 plate appearances at Gwinnett this season.

Miller started at designated hitter and went 2-for-2 in Monday's 2-1 win over Oakland.

Miller started for the fifth time in the last seven games -- all against right-handers -- and seemingly holds onto a regular gig despite an average hovering around .200 and the promotion of several younger players during the course of the season. He was eventually lifted for a pinch hitter in the sixth inning against lefty Sam Moll, so Miller remains a situational player under new Texas manager Tony Beasley.

Winker went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, an additional run and an additional RBI in Monday's 6-2 victory versus the Angels.

Winker took Shohei Ohtani deep in the first inning, and he added a run-scoring groundout in the ninth. The veteran outfielder finished with his first multi-hit game since Aug. 1. He's hitting .258 so far this month, but he has a .439 OBP thanks to a 24.4 percent walk rate. Winker has also gone deep three times in 10 August contests.

Ohtani tossed six innings against Seattle on Monday, allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out eight batters in a no-decision. He also went 1-for-4 at the plate.

Ohtani gave up a first-inning solo homer to Jesse Winker but was tagged for only one more run and one additional extra-base hit the rest of the way. The two-way star finished with his eighth quality start over his past 11 outings but was matched by opposing starter Luis Castillo and had to settle for a no-decision. Ohtani isn't projected to quite reach his explosive offensive numbers from last season, but he's already picked up one more win on the mound (10) and has a lower ERA (2.69) and WHIP (1.06) along with a higher K/9 (12.7) through 20 starts.

Jimenez went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Monday's 4-2 win over the Astros.

With two more hits Monday, the 25-year-old now has a five-game hitting streak and is slashing .400/.433/.491 since the beginning of August. While he has only one home run in that 14-game stretch, he is hitting the ball with authority, and his 9 percent HR/FB rate should regress toward his career average of 26 percent. Impressively, he has also not hit a single infield popup since the beginning of August and has only done so in 2.9 percent of his plate appearances this season.

Pederson (hand) is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Diamondbacks, according to Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com.

X-rays taken on Pederson's injured hand came back negative after he was hurt in Sunday's game, but he will be held out of the lineup for at least one night. That could be the extent of his absence, as he is hoping to get back in there Tuesday.

Winker is in the lineup for Monday's game against the Angels.

Harper (thumb) took 60 swings Monday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

A few of Harper's cuts came against a pitching machine, but of greater import were the swings he got in against a pitcher -- the first he has taken since undergoing surgery on his injured thumb. Harper is scheduled to get in a similar session Wednesday, and barring any setbacks he could be ready for a rehab assignment shortly after. Interim manager Rob Thomson indicated that is unlikely to begin this weekend, but it could at some point next week.
