Harper was scratched from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants due to right forearm soreness, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Harper has been able to serve as the Phillies' primary designated hitter in spite of a UCL sprain in his elbow, but he'll be removed from Wednesday's lineup due to a sore forearm. Alec Bohm will serve as the designated hitter while Bryson Stott enters the lineup at shortstop. It's not yet clear whether Harper will be available off the bench.

The Mariners placed Lewis (concussion) on the 7-day injured list Wednesday.

Reports surfaced Tuesday that Lewis was out of the lineup for the second game in a row due to concussion-like symptoms, so his placement on the 7-day IL doesn't come as too much of a surprise. He'll be eligible to return from the IL on Sunday, but Lewis will first need to pass all neurological testing before he's cleared to resume playing. In a corresponding move, the Mariners activated Abraham Toro (shoulder) from the 10-day IL on Wednesday, and he could end up serving as the main replacement for Lewis in Seattle's everyday lineup.

Carpenter is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

The lefty-hitting Carpenter will take a seat with southpaw Reid Detmers on the hill for the Angels, paving the way for Aaron Judge to get a day out of the outfield to serve as the Yankees' designated hitter. After signing with the Yankees last Thursday, Carpenter started in four of his first five games with the team and went 2-for-13 with a pair of home runs and two walks. Carpenter will likely continue to play regularly against right-handed pitching until Giancarlo Stanton (ankle) returns from the injured list.

Lewis (head) is not in the lineup Wednesday versus the Orioles.

Lewis will miss his third consecutive game Wednesday while dealing with concussion-like symptoms. Mike Ford will start at designated hitter and bat seventh as the Mariners take on Kyle Bradish and the Orioles.

Stanton (ankle) may be activated when he is first eligible to return from the IL on Saturday, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.

Stanton took batting practice Tuesday, and manager Aaron Boone indicated that the session went well. The slugger was placed on the 10-day injured list with ankle inflammation May 24, but it appears that he could require only a minimum stay. Matt Carpenter has filled in at designated hitter in four of New York's past five contests.

Buxton isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Tigers.

Buxton started in both games during Tuesday's doubleheader, and he went 2-for-9 with a run and two strikeouts. He'll get a breather while Nick Gordon starts in center field and bats ninth.

Brantley is not starting in Wednesday's series finale versus the Athletics.

Brantley will get a breather Wednesday after starting 11 games in a row, notching at least one hit in seven of those contests. Chas McCormick will take over in left field while Mauricio Dubon enters the lineup in center and bats eighth.

Canha went 4-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI in Tuesday's 10-0 win over the Nationals.

Hitting leadoff against southpaw Patrick Corbin, Canha set the table in impressive fashion for a red-hot Mets offense. The veteran outfielder is on quite a roll himself, slashing .340/.400/.480 over his last 12 games with two homers, eight RBI and 13 runs.

Pederson went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run during Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Phillies in 11 innings.

The 30-year-old didn't start against left-hander Ranger Suarez on Tuesday, but he entered as a pinch hitter in the fifth inning and provided a pair of insurance runs with his two-run shot in the 11th. Pederson is in the midst of a seven-game hit streak, during which he's gone 11-for-23 with five home runs, 15 RBI and six runs.

Carpenter went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 9-1 win against the Angels.

Carpenter took Noah Syndergaard deep for a two-run shot in the bottom of the first inning, extending the Yankees' early lead to 4-0. The homer was his second of the year and his second hit over five games since joining the team May 26. Carpenter has gone 2-for-13 with the homers over those contests, putting him in a precarious position once Josh Donaldson (shoulder) and Giancarlo Stanton (ankle) return from the 10-day injured list in early June. Carpenter will likely have to produce a more well-rounded effort at the plate to retain a roster spot when the team gets closer to full strength.
