Beer went 3-for-4 with three RBI in Wednesday's 11-2 win over Washington.

Beer, who had been in and out of the lineup to start the season, has started five of the last six games. All of those starts have come against right-handers, and it's not clear if Arizona manager Torey Lovullo will make Beer a full-timer regardless of the opposing pitcher. One thing for certain is that Beer has been the team's best hitter since Opening Day, when he hit a walk-off home run. The lefty-swinging first baseman/DH is slashing .438/.486/.625 with a team-high eight RBI through 11 games. The teammate nearest him in average is Pavin Smith, who is batting .219.

Belt went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Wednesday in a 5-2 victory against the Mets.

Belt registered the only long ball of the contest when he went deep to right field in the second inning. The homer was his fourth of the campaign, tied for fifth in the league. He's coming off a 2021 season during which he slugged a career-high 29 homers in only 325 at-bats.

Manager Alex Cora said Martinez (groin) is sore and isn't expected to play Thursday against the Blue Jays, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Boston's skipper also said he doesn't believe a trip to the injured list will be necessary, and the veteran slugger should be considered day-to-day. Martinez went 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI prior to exiting Wednesday's contest with left adductor tightness.

Canha (illness) was activated from the COVID-19 injured list Wednesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Canha has been out the past week while on the COVID-19 IL but will rejoin the active roster Wednesday after clearing MLB's testing protocols. The 33-year-old was off to a hot start prior to the absence, slashing .381/.500/.381 with three RBI and two runs scored in six games.

Jimenez is out of the lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Guardians due to a sore left ankle, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Manager Tony La Russa noted prior to the White Sox's 11-1 loss earlier Wednesday that Jimenez was dealing with some swelling in his foot after playing through the ankle injury he sustained from fouling a ball off himself. Jimenez was able to take batting practice Wednesday and could still be available as a pinch hitter for the second game of the twin bill.

Reyes isn't starting the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the White Sox.

Reyes started in the first game of Wednesday's twin bill and went 1-for-4 with a run, a walk and a strikeout. Jose Ramirez will serve as the designated hitter while Gabriel Arias starts at third base.

Collins isn't in the lineup Wednesday against the Red Sox.

Collins had multi-hit performances in three of the last four games, going 8-for-15 with two homers, two doubles, four RBI and three runs during that time. He'll get a breather Wednesday while Vladimir Guerrero serves as the designated hitter with Cavan Biggio starting at first base.

Buxton (knee) isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Royals.

Buxton hasn't played since exiting Friday's game against Boston with right knee soreness, but the Twins have remained optimistic about his health. Gilberto Celestino will start in center field and bat ninth Wednesday.
