  • Brandon Belt DH | TOR

Giants' Brandon Belt: Crushes 17th long ball

Belt went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and a hit by pitch in Saturday's 6-5 win over Oakland.

The first baseman initiated a sequence of back-to-back homers with Darin Ruf in the seventh inning that pulled San Francisco within a run. Belt has cooled off dramatically after he was red-hot in his return from a six-week stint on the injured list. Over his last 10 games, the 33-year-old has gone just 3-for-31 with two homers, two RBI, three runs scored and a double. The cold stretch has dropped his season slash line to .238/.352/.533 across 253 plate appearances.

  • Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU

Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Keeps crushing Mariners

Alvarez went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer and a walk in Saturday's 15-1 win over the Mariners.

Alvarez broke Seattle's heart yet again Saturday with a three-run homer off Logan Gilbert that broke the game wide open in the third inning. The 24-year-old slugger is now hitting .367 with three home runs and 13 RBI in seven games against the Mariners. Both the Astros and fantasy managers alike will be happy to know that these two teams play seven more times this season.

  • Mark Vientos 1B | NYM

Mets' Mark Vientos: Back in action at Double-A

Vientos (undisclosed) rejoined the Double-A Binghamton lineup Monday after a two-week absence and has gone 3-for-12 with a home run, a walk and two RBI in his first three games back in action.

Binghamton never officially placed Vientos on the 7-day injured list, but he was believed to be inactive as a result of COVID-19-related protocols. The 21-year-old didn't take long to make an impact in his return, homering in his second start back with the Rumble Ponies. Vientos is hitting .280 with 21 home runs and 54 RBI in 65 games on the campaign.

  • Alex Dickerson DH | ATL

Giants' Alex Dickerson: Takes seat Saturday

Dickerson is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Athletics, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Consecutive two-hit showings have raised Dickerson's average to .476 with three extra-base hits and three RBI in his last 10 games. Darin Ruf is playing left field and batting cleanup Saturday.

  • Justin Turner DH | CHC

Dodgers' Justin Turner: Not starting Saturday

Turner is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mets, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Turner went 0-for-3 with a walk and an RBI in Friday's contest, lowering his average to .231 in his last 10 games. Max Muncy will play third base Saturday, with Albert Pujols getting the start at first.

  • Ji-Man Choi 1B | NYM

Rays' Ji-Man Choi: Riding pine Saturday

Choi isn't in the lineup Saturday against the White Sox.

Choi started the last three games and went 4-for-12 with a home run and five RBI. Yandy Diaz will shift to first base while Joey Wendle takes over at the hot corner.

  • Brent Rooker DH | ATH

Twins' Brent Rooker: Remains out of lineup

Rooker isn't starting Saturday's game against the Yankees.

Rooker saw plenty of playing time in late July and early August, but he'll be held out of the lineup for a third consecutive game. Rob Refsnyder will take over in left field and bat fifth.

  • Mike Ford DH | MIN

Rays' Mike Ford: Removed from 40-man roster

Ford was designated for assignment by the Rays on Saturday, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Ford had been spending time at Triple-A Durham after he was traded from the Yankees to the Rays in mid-June. He's slashed .243/.346/.529 with 11 home runs, 31 RBI and 22 runs across 40 games with Durham. The 29-year-old will lose his spot on the 40-man roster but will likely remain in the organization if he goes unclaimed on waivers.

  • Nick Solak DH | SD

Rangers' Nick Solak: Regular playing time expected

Solak is expected to play regularly at second base after being called up Friday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

With Charlie Culberson hitting the injured list Friday with symptoms resembling COVID-19, Solak was called up but did not arrive at Fenway Park in Boston until after the game had started. Texas has been rotating Andy Ibanez and Yonny Hernandez at second base, but there could be starting opportunities at third and first base to accommodate all three players.

  • Astros' Michael Brantley: Back in lineup

Brantley went 1-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in Friday's 12-3 win over Seattle.

Brantley returned to action after getting a day off Thursday, which presumably was designed to get him out of a hitting funk. The outfielder's fourth-inning single Friday snapped an 0-for-12 skid.
