The Mets recalled Hagenman from Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday.

Per Mike Puma of the New York Post, Hagenman is set to serve as the bulk reliever in Wednesday's game in Minnesota in what will be his major-league debut. The 28-year-old has allowed 11 runs (eight earned) across 10.1 innings this season with Syracuse. The Mets are likely to option Hagenman back to Syracuse following Wednesday's contest.

Brazoban will serve as the Mets' opening pitcher in Wednesday's game against the Twins, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Brazoban will be making his first career start after permitting just one run with a 9:2 K:BB over his first 11.1 innings this season out of the season. He'll likely be tasked with covering no more than three innings before giving way to Justin Hagenman, who will serve as the Mets' bulk reliever Wednesday.

The Cardinals optioned Munoz to Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday.

He had pitched each of the last two days, so the Cardinals are replacing him with a fresh bullpen arm in Matt Svanson, who was called up from Memphis. Munoz yielded three runs with a 4:1 K:BB over 2.2 innings during his brief time with the big club.

The Cardinals recalled Svanson from Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday.

Svanson, 26, allowed one run with a 4:2 K:BB over his first 5.2 innings with Memphis this season. The right-hander is pegged for low-leverage relief and will be making his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game.

Atlanta optioned Thompson to Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday.

Thompson retired all seven batters he faced during a relief appearance Tuesday, but he will clear out to make room on the roster for the return of Spencer Strider (elbow). The 31-year-old Thompson could get another look when the big club needs a reliever capable of eating some innings.

Pressly (1-1) picked up the win Tuesday, striking out one in a perfect inning of relief during a 2-1 extra-inning victory over the Padres.

After the Cubs' closer breezed through the ninth inning on 16 pitches (11 strikes), Nico Hoerner led off the 10th with an RBI triple to deliver the game-winning run. Pressly has reeled off six straight scoreless appearances, and while his ratios (3.00 ERA, 1.89 WHIP, 4:6 K:BB in nine innings) remain a little shaky, he's 4-for-4 in converting save chances.

Diaz allowed two walks and struck out one over a scoreless two-thirds of an inning in Tuesday's 8-4 win over Seattle.

Diaz, who was activated earlier in the day, made his season debut. He opened the sixth inning and walked two of the first three batters he faced. He threw 26 pitches (14 strikes), so the command and control issues that plagued him in spring training were evident Tuesday. It makes sense that manager Terry Francona doesn't want to put Diaz back in the closer's role yet.

Mantiply allowed two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out one over one inning in Tuesday's 10-4 win over the Marlins.

The Diamondbacks were leading, 10-1, when Mantiply opened the seventh inning, so the scoring allowed didn't jeopardize the club, but the left-hander hasn't executed thus far. He isn't overpowering, so he needs to be precise with location. Mantiply's given up runs in his last three outings, pushing his ERA to 13.50 over 6.2 innings (seven outings).

Phillips (shoulder) allowed two runs on three hits while striking out two batters in one inning during a rehab outing with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday.

While Phillips struggled Tuesday, he also had some bad fortune, as one of the hits he allowed was a grounder off the end of the bat and another was a soft liner over the head of the first baseman. It's been a rough rehab stint so far for Phillips, as he has a 7.71 ERA across five appearances covering 4.2 frames. The Dodgers will likely be more focused on Phillips' strong 8:1 K:BB so far, however, and it wouldn't be surprising if the veteran reliever is activated off the IL in the near future.

Birdsong was charged with two earned runs on two hits and a walk over one inning during Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Phillies.

The 23-year-old reliever entered the game in the seventh, giving up his first runs of the season on a two-run homer by Bryce Harper. Pitching on one day's rest, Birdsong struggled with control, throwing 12 of his 24 pitches for strikes Tuesday. It was also the first time that he pitched fewer than two innings this season. The right-hander has recorded a 1.80 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and a 9:4 K:BB with three holds and one hit batter over 10 innings in five appearances.
