The Phillies recalled Rangel from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday.

Rangel is expected to work in bulk relief behind opening pitcher Tim Mayza during Monday's road game against the Nationals, per Matt Gelb of The Athletic. The 28-year-old fanned five over three innings of one-run ball out of the bullpen in an appearance for the Phillies earlier this season, and he holds a 3.99 ERA and 73:27 K:BB across 70 frames with Lehigh Valley. With Andrew Painter back in the minors, Rangel could get a chance to stick around in Philadelphia as the fifth member of the rotation.

The Reds optioned Maxwell to Triple-A Louisville on Monday.

Maxwell will cede his spot on the active roster and in the Cincinnati bullpen to right-hander Pierce Johnson (elbow), who was reinstated from the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. During his latest stint in the majors, Maxwell made nine appearances and submitted a 7.00 ERA, 2.11 WHIP and 8:8 K:BB in nine innings while gathering one save and one hold.

Johnson gave up one run in a one-inning, 17-pitch rehab appearance with Triple-A Louisville on Friday, and that was apparently all the Reds needed to see from the right-hander on the farm before adding him back to their bullpen. Before hitting the shelf May 30 due to right elbow inflammation, Johnson had been working in a setup role for the Reds and posted a 3.27 ERA and 1.23 WHIP while collecting four holds, one save and two wins in 24 appearances.

The Yankees recalled De Los Santos from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday.

He's absorbing the roster spot vacated by Elmer Rodriguez, who was sent down to Triple-A following a spot start Sunday. De Los Santos has pitched well this season for the Yankees when given an opportunity, yielding only one run with a 6:3 K:BB over 5.1 frames.

The Marlins recalled Brzykcy from Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday.

Brzykcy was with the Marlins briefly earlier this season but did not make an appearance. The right-handed reliever has turned in a 4.45 ERA and 34:18 K:BB over 30.1 frames for Jacksonville this season. Brzykcy could be sent back down later this week when Max Meyer returns from the bereavement list.

Mears (shoulder) was tracking toward a rehab assignment but experienced soreness after his bullpen session Tuesday, MLB.com reports.

Mears appeared to be progressing well in rehab from a right shoulder impingement, but he came out of Tuesday's bullpen session with the same soreness and pinching feeling that landed him on the injured list. The right-hander underwent further evaluation Thursday, and while an updated outlook remains undisclosed, the setback has almost certainly pushed back his timeline for both a rehab assignment and return to the big leagues. Before hitting the shelf May 29, Mears posted a 5.12 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 15:11 K:BB across 19.1 innings.

Alexander will serve as the Rangers' opening pitcher Monday in Miami, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

The left-handed Alexander will cover the first inning or two versus the Marlins before turning the ball over to Kumar Rocker, who is slated to handle the bulk of the workload for Texas. Alexander has delivered a 2.97 ERA and 23:10 K:BB over 30.1 frames for the Rangers this season.

Ribalta (0-1) took the loss and was charged with a blown save against the Rays on Sunday, giving up two runs on two hits and a walk in the seventh inning. He struck out two.

The 28-year-old right-hander entered the game with the Nationals ahead 3-2 but served up a game-winning two-run homer to Jonny DeLuca. Ribalta has hit a rough patch in June, getting tagged for runs in three of his last five appearances including the only two home runs he's allowed this season, but through 21.1 innings in 2026 he still carries a respectable 3.38 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 16:9 K:BB.

Johnson (elbow) is set to be activated from the 15-day injured list Monday, MLB.com reports.

Johnson rejoined the Reds on Sunday and will be available out of the bullpen this week after making a lone rehab appearance at Triple-A Louisville. The right-hander threw 17 pitches for Louisville on Friday, allowing one run on two hits while striking out one batter.

Petersen tossed a perfect eighth inning Sunday to record his 10th hold of the season in a win over the Giants. He didn't strike out a batter.

Tasked with handling the top of the San Francisco order, Petersen allowed some hard contact to Bryce Eldridge and Casey Schmitt, but the balls found Miami gloves. Petersen leads the Marlins in holds on the season, with five of his 10 coming in June as he's posted a 2.45 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 16:4 K:BB over 11 innings on the month.
