The Pirates optioned Selby to Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday.

Selby was roughed up for five runs on seven hits and four walks over four innings this spring. The 26-year-old reliever should spend some time in the Pirates' bullpen this season but will open the year at Indianapolis.

The Rays optioned White to Triple-A Durham on Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

White missed most of last season while finishing up his recovery from Tommy John surgery, but he entered spring training healthy and made three appearances with the big club. The right-hander could make his MLB debut at some point this season, but he'll likely need a solid showing at Durham before being called up by Tampa Bay.

Lambert will get a second opinion on his injured right shoulder on Thursday in Los Angeles, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Lambert was shut down for nearly two weeks after developing soreness in the shoulder, but the discomfort remains; therefore, he will get checked out by Dr. Neal ElAttrache in L.A. More information on the reliever's status should be available later this week, but it sounds like this could be a long-term issue.

The Royals optioned McMillon to Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old made his MLB debut last August and allowed one run with an 8:0 K:BB in four appearances before being sidelined by a forearm strain. McMillon jumped straight to the majors for Double-A last season, but it appears he'll head to Triple-A to begin 2024.

Small has allowed one run on five hits and a walk with six strikeouts over 3.2 innings across two Cactus League games.

Small isn't getting a particularly long look so far, which doesn't bode well for him making the major-league bullpen. Small worked as a starter in the minors up until last season. He has 10.1 major-league innings under his belt with the Brewers, but he's yet to display much success in the majors. The southpaw would likely end up in a low-leverage role if he happens to break camp with the Giants.

Herrin has allowed three runs on five hits, a walk and a hit batsman while striking out seven over seven innings in Cactus League play.

Two of the hits Herrin allowed were home runs. The 27-year-old southpaw remains in contention for a bullpen role, but he's likely to see low-leverage spots if he breaks camp with the Guardians. Herrin's heavy usage in spring training suggests he's getting a long look for the major-league roster.

Zimmermann has allowed five runs (three earned) on 12 hits and three walks with seven strikeouts over 7.2 innings in Grapefruit League play.

Zimmermann's history as a starter made it possible he'd be considered for a spot in the rotation, but all three of his spring appearances have come in relief. He's also giving up too many baserunners with a 1.96 WHIP in spring -- those kinds of numbers could lead to him being in the bullpen to begin the year if he makes the major-league roster.

The Rockies optioned Hollowell to Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday.

Hollowell made 26 relief appearances for the Rockies last season and had a 5.88 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 32:18 K:BB across 33.2 innings. The 26-year-old struggled during spring training with seven runs allowed, including three homers, across 4.2 innings.

The Rockies optioned Pint to Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday, Patrick Lyons of Just Baseball reports.

Pint gets the boot even after tossing six scoreless innings this spring, though that did come with a 5:4 K:BB. The hard-throwing right-hander has major control issues but the swing-and-miss stuff to be a late-inning reliever if he can just get the walks to a passable level.

Hernandez (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a light bullpen session this weekend, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Hernandez has been playing catch the last few days and will do so again Tuesday before progressing to some mound work shortly thereafter. The Royals have not ruled the reliever out for Opening Day yet, but it seems unlikely that he'll have time to ramp things back up by then.
