Coleman was optioned to Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday.

Coleman's season struggles continued Monday when he allowed a walk-off home run after hitting a batter in a 6-4 loss to the Athletics. Zack Greinke (elbow) was reinstated from the injured list in a corresponding move.

Weaver, who signed a major-league deal with the Mariners on Tuesday, will work in a long-relief role out of the bullpen, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

With Emerson Hancock (shoulder) done for the year, Weaver would likely be the next man up if the Mariners need a spot starter, but there aren't any plans to go to a six-man rotation. He had a 5.57 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 21 strikeouts in 21 innings over his last five outings for the Reds before they released him last week.

Helsley was cleared of any structural damage in his right forearm Tuesday following another MRI, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Helsley continues to be bothered by lingering pain and tightness in his forearm, but he is scheduled to throw a bullpen session later this week in St. Louis and could then resume his minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Memphis. Given the string of recent setbacks, it's hard to guess on a timetable for his return to the Cardinals' bullpen. The 29-year-old has been on the injured list since early June.

McCaughan was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday.

McCaughan made one appearance in his most recent big-league stint, allowing one run on one hit while striking out the side during one inning against the White Sox on Monday. The reliever's return to Tacoma coincides with the Mariners reinstating Bryan Woo (forearm) from the injured list and signing veteran Luke Weaver.

The Athletics optioned Scott to Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.

Scott was sent to the minors to make room on the 26-man active roster for Hogan Harris, who was recalled from Las Vegas and is expected to serve as a bulk reliever for Tuesday's game against the Royals. After getting called up from Las Vegas a week ago, Scott made two appearances out of the Oakland bullpen, tossing 2.2 scoreless frames.

The Athletics recalled Harris from Triple-A Las Vegas, and he's expected to serve as a bulk reliever behind opening pitcher Dany Jimenez in Tuesday's game against the Royals, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Oakland optioned right-handed reliever Tayler Scott to Las Vegas to make room on the active roster for Harris, who returns to the big club after a three-week stay in the minors. Harris was demoted to Triple-A after posting a 10.29 ERA and 1.90 WHIP in his final five outings with Oakland, and he didn't show any major improvements during his time in Las Vegas. He was lit up for 14 earned runs on 14 hits and seven walks over six innings in his last two starts at Triple-A, inspiring little confidence about his prospects for Tuesday. Jimenez will likely work no more than one or two innings before turning the game over to Harris.

Bazardo was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma after Monday's game.

Bazardo made two appearances in his most recent major-league stint, allowing one run on four hits and a walk over two innings. The reliever's return to Tacoma coincides with the Mariners reinstating Bryan Woo (forearm) and signing veteran Luke Weaver.

Jimenez will serve as the Athletics' opening pitcher for Tuesday's game against the Royals, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

He'll be making his first career start, but Jimenez is unlikely to cover more than two innings before turning the game over to Hogan Harris, who is expected to be called up from Triple-A Las Vegas to serve as the Athletics' bulk reliever. Jimenez recently returned from an extended stay on the injured list due to a strained shoulder and has tossed 1.1 innings, giving up two earned runs over his first two appearances since being reinstated.

Jarvis gave up one earned run on two hits and one walk over 3.2 innings out of the bullpen en route to picking up his first big-league win in Saturday's 8-1 victory over the Padres in the second game of a doubleheader.

Jarvis pitched behind opener Scott McGough, who tossed 2.1 scoreless innings before turning the game over to the rookie. Though Jarvis has now turned given up just two earned runs over 6.2 innings through his first two appearances with Arizona, he may end up serving as more of a pure reliever going forward rather than a primary pitcher. Arizona is expected to get some reinforcement to its rotation later this week, when Zach Davies (back) will likely be activated from the 15-day injured list.

Curtiss underwent surgery Tuesday to remove a loose body from his right elbow, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

Curtiss was diagnosed with the loose body last week and can now officially be ruled out for the remainder of the 2023 campaign. He made only 15 relief appearances this season at the MLB level and posted a 4.58 ERA and 16:8 K:BB across 19.2 innings.
