  • Cardinals' Andre Granillo: Sent back to Triple-A

The Cardinals optioned Granillo to Triple-A Memphis on Monday.

Granillo was going to be unavailable for a bit after pitching both of the previous two days, which included a 46-pitch relief appearance Sunday versus the Padres. He's been replaced on the 26-man active roster and in the bullpen by Matt Svanson, who was called up from Triple-A.

  • Felix Bautista RP | BAL

Orioles' Felix Bautista: Facing extended absence

Orioles interim manager Tony Mansolino said Monday that Bautista is going to be "out a while" after an MRI showed significant swelling in the pitcher's right shoulder, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

The silver lining is that Bautista does not have any structural damage. However, with the amount of inflammation in his shoulder, he's looking at an absence that will last weeks, not days. With the Orioles not in playoff contention, it's fair to wonder how much of a contribution, if any, he will make the rest of this season. Seranthony Dominguez is the current favorite to see the bulk of the save chances for Baltimore down the stretch, though he is a possibility to be traded.

  • Randy Dobnak RP | DET

Tigers' Randy Dobnak: Included in Paddack trade

The Tigers acquired Dobnak and right-hander Chris Paddack from the Twins on Monday in exchange for catcher Enrique Jimenez, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

Dobnak made one extended relief appearance for the Twins earlier this season but has spent nearly all of 2025 at Triple-A St. Paul, where he's posted a 7.12 ERA and 42:35 K:BB over 60.2 frames. He's making $3 million this season, so his inclusion in the deal is likely just a means for the Twins to unload a little more salary.

  • Freddy Tarnok RP | MIA

Marlins' Freddy Tarnok: Sent back to Triple-A

The Marlins optioned Tarnok to Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday.

Tarnok was with the big club over the weekend while Luke Bachar was on paternity leave, but Bachar has now returned to the Marlins to reclaim his spot in the bullpen. The right-handed Tarnok didn't make an appearance during his brief stint in the majors.

  • Lake Bachar P | MIA

Marlins' Lake Bachar: Returns from paternity leave

The Marlins activated Bachar (personal) from the paternity list Monday.

Bachar was away for the weekend series in Milwaukee to tend to more important matters but will rejoin the Marlins bullpen ahead of their series in St. Louis. Freddy Tarnok was sent down to Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move.

  • Rob Zastryzny RP | MIL

Brewers' Rob Zastryzny: Pulled off rehab assignment

The Brewers returned Zastryzny from his rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville on Monday after he suffered a setback in his recovery from a rib injury, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Zastryzny made two rehab appearances with Nashville, yielding a total of four runs on four hits and two walks over 1.2 innings. The lefty has been out since late June with a rib stress reaction, and his return from the 15-day injured list doesn't appear to be imminent after he was unable to complete the rehab assignment. He's scheduled to undergo further imaging on his rib before the Brewers determine his next steps.

  • Craig Yoho RP | MIL

Brewers' Craig Yoho: Getting another look in majors

The Brewers recalled Yoho from Triple-A Nashville on Monday.

Yoho has permitted seven runs with a 5:7 K:BB over seven innings so far at the big-league level this season. However, the 25-year-old has given up only three earned runs all season at Nashville and remains one of the team's more promising young relief prospects. Yoho will be used in low-leverage situations for now.

  • Tim Herrin RP | CLE

Guardians' Tim Herrin: Joining big-league bullpen

The Guardians recalled Herrin from Triple-A Columbus on Monday.

Herrin will join the Cleveland bullpen in place of Emmanuel Clase (personal), who was placed on administrative leave through Aug. 31 due to his involvement in MLB's gambling investigation. Though the absence of Clase creates a void in the ninth inning, Herrin is likely to be used in middle relief initially rather than factoring into the mix for saves. The 28-year-old lefty has posted a 3.99 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 28:22 K:BB in 29.1 innings with the big club this season.

  • Orioles' Yaramil Hiraldo: Heading back to minors

The Orioles optioned Hiraldo to Triple-A Norfolk on Monday.

Hiraldo has made two scoreless relief appearances during his brief time in the majors this season. He's clearing out to make space on the active roster for Keegan Akin's (shoulder) return from the 15-day injured list.

  • Keegan Akin RP | BAL

Orioles' Keegan Akin: Back from shoulder injury

The Orioles activated Akin (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Monday.

Akin missed a month of action with left shoulder inflammation but has been cleared to return after making three rehab appearances. The southpaw should see some high-leverage appearances in the Orioles bullpen, but he could be a candidate to get moved elsewhere ahead of Thursday's trade deadline.
