  • Keaton Winn SP | SF

Giants' Keaton Winn: Back in big leagues

The Giants recalled Winn from Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The right-hander was optioned to Sacramento last week but is back with the Giants on Tuesday since Randy Rodriguez (elbow) landed on the injured list. Winn has made just two appearances with the Giants this year and has an 8.86 ERA at Triple-A.

  • Giants' Randy Rodriguez: Lands on IL

The Giants placed Rodriguez on the 15-day injured list Tuesday, retroactive to Saturday, with a sprained right elbow.

Rodriguez was unavailable out of the bullpen for the past few days while battling an elbow issue he picked up during Sunday's win over Milwaukee. Manager Bob Melvin was hopeful the 25-year-old righty would be back in time for Tuesday's series opener against the Cubs, but the Giants will instead be without their primary closer until at least Sept. 7. Ryan Walker will presumably take over as San Francisco's preferred ninth-inning option for the short-term future, and Keaton Winn will come up from Triple-A to replenish the team's bullpen depth.

  • Lou Trivino RP | PHI

Phillies' Lou Trivino: Joining MLB club

The Phillies selected Trivino's contract from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday.

The right-hander joined Philly on a minor-league deal in early August and will now get a look in the majors. Trivino has a 4.42 ERA and 1.37 WHIP across 38.2 innings between the Giants and Dodgers this year and went without allowing an earned run in six outings with Lehigh Valley.

  • Jordan Romano RP | LAA

Phillies' Jordan Romano: Lands on injured list

The Phillies placed Romano on the 15-day injured list Tuesday due to right middle finger inflammation.

It's unclear when the finger issue first surfaced for Romano, who surrendered 10 earned run in his past four outings. After inking a one-year, $8.5 million contract with the Phillies in December, the veteran right-hander has put up a disastrous campaign with an 8.23 ERA in 49 appearances.

  • Phillies' Daniel Robert: Rejoins big club

The Phillies recalled Robert from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday.

The right-hander was sent to Lehigh Valley after coming off the injured list in mid-August but is now back with the MLB club. Robert has made 12 appearances for Philly this year and has a 5.79 ERA, 1.82 WHIP and 12:8 K:BB across 9.1 innings.

  • Joe Ross RP | ARI

Joe Ross: Cut loose by Philly

The Phillies released Ross on Tuesday.

Ross surrendered three runs in in his one-inning relief appearance in Monday's 13-3 loss to the Mets, which apparently prompted the Phillies to re-evaluate his place in their bullpen. The veteran right-hander joined Philadelphia on a one-year, $4 million deal during the offseason and nothced a 5.12 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 39:18 K:BB over 51 innings in 2025.

  • John Rooney RP | TB

Astros' John Rooney: Out with elbow inflammation

The Astros placed Rooney on the 15-day injured list Tuesday due to left elbow inflammation, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

He will be eligible to return Sept. 9, but given the nature of the injury, Rooney might need more time to make a full recovery. The lefty reliever has made one appearance for Houston this season, surrendering one run over 1.1 frames.

  • Astros' AJ Blubaugh: Recalled from Triple-A

The Astros recalled Blubaugh from Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

The Red Sox recalled Moran from Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Moran has permitted three runs with a 5:3 K:BB over four innings covering two relief outings for the Red Sox this season. He will give manager Alex Cora another lefty in the bullpen.

  • Dauri Moreta RP | PIT

Pirates' Dauri Moreta: Rejoins big club

The Pirates recalled Moreta from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday.

The right-hander will rejoin the big-league bullpen after spending the 15-day minimum in the minors after being demoted Aug. 11. Moreta has made five appearances for Pittsburgh this year and has given up two earned runs with a 7:1 K:BB over 4.2 innings.
