  • Bryan Baker RP | TB

Rays' Bryan Baker: Dominance continues in 22nd save

Baker secured the save Thursday against the Royals, striking out one in a clean ninth inning.

Baker continues to run away with Tampa Bay's closing gig. The 31-year-old right-hander has yielded just one run since May 17, a stretch of 15 outings, and he last blew a save back on May 13. His 22 saves trail only Cade Smith's 26 for the major-league lead, and Baker boasts a 1.89 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 36:11 K:BB over 33.1 innings.

  • Ian Seymour RP | TB

Rays' Ian Seymour: Dominates in fifth win

Seymour (5-1) earned the win Thursday against the Royals, allowing one run on three hits and one walk in six innings. He struck out eight.

That's now back-to-back quality starts for Seymour, who has excelled over his past five outings (three starts) while getting stretched out. During that span, the 27-year-old southpaw has a 2.52 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 27:6 K:BB covering 25 innings. Seymour, who holds a 4.02 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 60:21 K:BB over 56 innings on the year, is pushing for a permanent stay in the Rays' rotation, but a tough assignment against the Yankees awaits him for his next start.

  • Alan Rangel RP | PHI

Phillies' Alan Rangel: Sent back to Triple-A

Rangel was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley after Thursday's 6-1 loss to the Pirates, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Rangel did not factor into the decision Thursday after he pitched four scoreless innings, surrendering three hits and four walks while striking out four batters during his start. He will now head back to Triple-A after combining to allow five runs while striking out 12 batters over 13 innings in three outings with Philadelphia following his call-up June 22. Rangel's spot in the rotation is set to appear one more time before the All-Star break, and the Phillies could go with a bullpen game in that contest.

  • Jason Adam RP | SD

Padres' Jason Adam: Hits IL with shoulder strain

The Padres placed Adam on the 15-day injured list Thursday, retroactive to Tuesday, with a right shoulder strain.

In a corresponding move, the Padres reinstated German Marquez (forearm) from the 15-day injured list. Adam will be eligible to return after the All-Star break if he's recovered by then. The reliever had a 0.90 ERA heading into June, but he had a 5.11 ERA across his 12.1 innings pitched during that month.

  • Miles Mikolas RP | WAS

Nationals' Miles Mikolas: Tagged with five-game suspension

Mikolas has received a five-game suspension Thursday for his actions during the benches-clearing incident Tuesday, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports.

The benches clearing incident in Sunday's game versus the Nationals got sparked after Cade Cavalli struck out Willson Contreras. On the Nationals' side, Cavalli also received a suspension, but for seven games instead of five. On the Red Sox, Contreras got a seven-game suspension and Nate Eaton received a three-game suspension. Mikolas can appeal the suspension, but as of Thursday he will miss an expected start and not be able to return until July 8.

  • Royals' Eric Cerantola: Pushed off 40-man

The Royals designated Cerantola for assignment Thursday.

After being sent down to Triple-A on Wednesday, Cerantola will now give up his place on the 40-man roster for Luke Maile, who was selected to the big leagues in a corresponding move. Cerantola walked six batters while giving up two runs in 1.1 innings during his appearance against the Rays on Tuesday, and he'll likely need to show improvement at Omaha before the Royals begin to consider giving him another opportunity in the majors.

  • Cole Ragans RP | KC

Royals' Cole Ragans: Undergoes UCL repair surgery

Ragans underwent UCL repair surgery on his left elbow Wednesday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

It was unknown what type of procedure Ragans would need when the Royals announced last weekend that he was scheduled for surgery. Now confirmed to have undergone UCL repair surgery, the 28-year-old southpaw will officially miss the remainder of the season and is likely to remain out until at least midway through the 2027 campaign. He'll close the book on 2026 after putting up a 4.84 ERA and 1.42 WHIP alongside a 45:23 K:BB through 35.1 innings over eight starts.

  • Charlie Barnes RP | LAD

Dodgers' Charlie Barnes: Dispatched to OKC

The Dodgers optioned Barnes to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday.

After giving up seven earned runs in seven bulk-relief innings Wednesday, Barnes will be sent back to Triple-A to make room for a fresh arm in the form of Paul Gervase. The 30-year-old Barnes has now given up 10 runs in 12 innings in the majors this season, but he remains an option to rejoin the big club later in the year to provide length out of the bullpen.

  • Austin Voth RP | MIN

Rangers' Austin Voth: Signs MiLB deal with Rangers

The Rangers signed Voth to a minor-league contract Thursday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Voth elected free agency after being designated for assignment by the Twins on June 24. The right-hander has only appeared in three games total at the major-league level between the Twins and Blue Jays in 2026. He has made 11 starts in the minors this season. He has yet to go past five innings pitched in his minor-league starts and has only appeared as a reliever in the majors this year.

  • Paul Gervase RP | LAD

    Dodgers' Paul Gervase: Officially promoted

The Dodgers recalled Gervase from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday.

Gervase has turned in a 3.60 ERA and 1.44 WHIP through 25 innings with Oklahoma City, but he hasn't given up a run in nine innings across his last seven outings. He'll now return to Los Angeles to give the Dodgers a fresh arm capable of handling multiple innings out of the bullpen, replacing Charlie Barnes.
