  • Padres' Nick Martinez: Picks up win Sunday

Martinez (3-3) earned the win over the Dodgers on Sunday, pitching 2.1 scoreless innings during which he allowed one hit and struck out two batters.

MacKenzie Gore held Los Angeles to one run over 5.2 frames, but he trailed 1-0 upon his exit in the sixth inning. Martinez retired the final batter in that frame and worked through the eighth, keeping the Dodgers off the scoreboard while allowing only two baserunners (on a single and a hit-by-pitch). The Padres finally broke through with four runs in the top of the ninth, handing Martinez his third victory of the campaign. Including Sunday's performance, the right-hander has allowed only one run over his past nine innings, and he has notched two saves and a win in three outings over that span.

  • Jimmy Lambert RP | CHW

White Sox's Jimmy Lambert: Optioned to minors

Lambert was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte on Monday.

Lambert posted a 2.00 ERA in 9.0 innings over seven appearances in June, but he will cede his roster spot to the returning Liam Hendiks. Lambert figures to garner consideration next time the White Sox need to bring up a pitcher from the minor-league ranks.

  • Liam Hendriks RP | CHC

White Sox's Liam Hendriks: Activated from injured list

Hendriks (forearm) was activated from the injured list Monday.

Hendriks said Friday that he would return to action Monday, and he will indeed do just that. While an official announcement was not made, it seems likely he will immediately reclaim the closer's role for the White Sox.

  • Enoli Paredes RP | BAL

Astros' Enoli Paredes: Optioned to Triple-A

Paredes was optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday.

Paredes was called up by the Astros on June 26, and he made three relief appearances during his week on the major-league roster. He allowed a run while striking out two in three innings but will head back to the minors after Jake Odorizzi (lower leg) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list Monday.

  • Royals' Ronald Bolanos: Outrighted to Triple-A

Bolanos cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Omaha on Monday.

Bolanos lost his spot on the Royals' 40-man roster last week but will remain in Omaha after going unclaimed on waivers. Over nine appearances (four starts) in the minors this year, he's posted a 5.49 ERA and 1.82 WHIP in 19.2 innings.

  • Yimi Garcia RP | TOR

Blue Jays' Yimi Garcia: Goes out on rehab assignment

Garcia (back) will begin a rehab assignment Monday with Triple-A Buffalo.

Garcia landed on the injured list in late June with a sore back, but it did not take him long to recover. Given that he has only been out a couple weeks, he may not need to appear in more than a game or two before rejoining the major-league roster.

  • Silvino Bracho RP | CIN

Braves' Silvino Bracho: Designated for assignment

Bracho was designated for assignment Monday.

Bracho was acquired from the Red Sox in late June, and he appeared in one game out of Atlanta's bullpen. However, he is now back on the waiver wire after being removed from a 40-man roster for the second time in a week.

  • Tyler Matzek RP | NYY

Braves' Tyler Matzek: Ready to return

Matzek (shoulder) was activated from the injured list Monday.

Matzek has been out since injuring his shoulder in mid-May, but he completed a rehab assignment and is ready to pitch for the big club again. Matzek had a couple subpar outings earlier in the season, but he also picked up six holds, and it should not be long before he reclaims a key spot in Atlanta's bullpen.

  • Astros' Parker Mushinski: Appears ready for rehab assignment

Astros general manager James Click said Sunday that Mushinski (elbow) could begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Sugar Land during the upcoming week, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Mushinski has been on the 15-day injured list since June 7 with left elbow discomfort and will likely need at least two appearances in the minors before he's deemed ready to rejoin the big-league bullpen. Prior to being shelved with the injury, Mushinski covered 6.1 innings and gave up three earned runs on five hits and three walks while striking out eight across his six relief appearances for Houston.

  • Rays' J.P. Feyereisen: Transferred to 60-day IL

Feyereisen (shoulder) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Monday.

Feyereisen was placed on the 15-day injured list in early June, and he'll be unavailable until at least the first week of August following Monday's transaction. The right-hander has been building arm strength recently, but the bone bruise in his shoulder hasn't yet fully healed. A better idea of his return timetable should come into focus once he resumes a throwing program.
