Garrett was placed on the 15-day injured list Thursday with a right elbow sprain.

The move is retroactive to Sept. 15, but it nonetheless means the end of Garrett's regular season. He has logged an 8.25 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 14 strikeouts in 12 innings since the beginning of August.

Civale (4-9) tossed three scoreless innings of relief to earn the win in Wednesday's 8-4 victory over the Pirates. He allowed one hit and struck out three.

With starter Matthew Boyd scuffling through three innings, Chicago turned to Civale in long relief, and the veteran earned his first win with his new team since getting claimed off waivers at the end of August. Civale has looked sharp with the Cubs, as he's allowed just one run across eight innings in three appearances, and he's struck out eight batters as well. The righty's fantasy value is capped in his current role, though it looks like he could be a positive addition to Chicago's bullpen down the stretch.

Suarez earned the save in Wednesday's 7-4 win over the Mets, allowing a hit and a walk in a scoreless ninth inning.

Tasked with protecting a three-run lead, Suarez worked around a leadoff single to Brett Baty and a two-out walk to Francisco Lindor, but he held firm to lock down the win for San Diego. The right-hander has been reliable in September, posting a 2.61 ERA, 0.68 WHIP and 12:2 K:BB across 10.1 innings, converting four consecutive saves in that stretch. The 34-year-old is now just one save away from becoming the fifth Padres closer ever to reach the 40-save milestone, and he sits only one behind Carlos Estevez for the MLB lead.

King earned a save against the Rangers on Wednesday by pitching 1.1 perfect innings. He did not record any strikeouts

King entered with two outs in the eighth inning, inheriting two runners on base. He got Dylan Moore to fly out, then retired all three batters he faced in the ninth to close out the contest. The save was King's second of the campaign and his first since July 22. Bryan Abreu has taken over closer duties for Houston with Josh Hader (shoulder) out of action, but Abreu was held out Wednesday after pitching each of the previous two days. It makes sense that the Astros turned to King late in the game, as he's now given up just one run while posting a 17:2 K:BB over his past 17 innings spanning 16 appearances.

Fairbanks earned the save in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Blue Jays, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning.

Called upon to protect a one-run lead, the right-hander locked down his 27th save of the season with ease, continuing his bounce-back form after a rocky stretch in which he allowed six earned runs over seven appearances. Since then, Fairbanks has gone four straight outings without allowing a hit, converting three saves in that span. The 31-year-old now sports a 2.98 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 58:18 K:BB across 57.1 innings this season.

Seymour (4-2) earned the win Wednesday against the Blue Jays, allowing one unearned run on four hits and one walk while striking out three over seven innings.

The left-hander was sharp throughout, with Toronto's lone run coming in the fourth inning after a defensive miscue on a potential double-play ball extended the frame. Seymour has been hurt by poor defense lately, as he's surrendered 13 runs over his last four starts despite only four being earned. He's been excellent during that stretch, pitching to a 1.69 ERA with a 21:6 K:BB across 21.1 innings. Wednesday's outing also marked the longest start of Seymour's short career, surpassing his previous high of 5.1 innings from his previous start. The 26-year-old is slated to face Baltimore in his next outing.

Estevez (back) picked up the save Wednesday against the Mariners, allowing one run on three hits with no strikeouts or walks in the ninth inning.

After leaving Sunday's win over Philadelphia due to mild back tightness, Estevez returned to action Wednesday but was shaky in collecting his MLB-leading 40th save. The earned run was his first allowed since Aug. 13 versus Washington, and the three hits given up were his most since July 3 in Seattle. Estevez has still produced a 2.53 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 52:22 K:BB over 64 innings, and the veteran right-hander appears to be locked in as the Royals' closer to close out his excellent campaign.

Lord came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 9-4 loss to Atlanta, giving up two runs on six hits and a walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out four.

The right-hander blanked Atlanta for five frames and got handed a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth, but Lord ran into trouble when he came out for the sixth in an eventual four-run frame that swung the game to the visitors. After a rough ending to August, Lord has been much sharper in September, posting a 3.18 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 15:5 K:BB over three starts and 17 innings. He's scheduled to make his final start of 2025 on the road next week in a rematch with Atlanta.

Martin (hand) hit a batter but allowed no other baserunners during an inning of relief in Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the Astros.

Martin experienced some tingling in his right hand during his previous relief appearance in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Mets, but a couple days off was all he needed for the issue to be resolved. The veteran righty made quick work of the Astros in the ninth inning Tuesday, needing just seven pitches to record three outs.

The Brewers reinstated Mears (back) from the injured list Wednesday.

Mears will rejoin the Brewers' bullpen following a minimum-length stay on the injured list. The 28-year-old should be a candidate for holds during the final week-plus of the regular season, while most of the save chances will likely go to Abner Uribe until Trevor Megill (elbow) returns. Jose Quintana (calf) was placed on the injured list in a corresponding move.
