Lynch allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out six across 5.1 innings against Minnesota on Thursday. He did not factor in the decision.

Lynch gave up only one extra-base hit in the outing, and he registered 16 swinging strikes among his 94 pitches. He allowed at least one baserunner in each of his innings but limited the Twins to just two runs, though he exited in the sixth in line for the loss before the Royals offense staged a comeback. This was a solid bounce-back performance after Lynch allowed four runs over 3.2 frames when he faced Minnesota six days ago. He's expected to make his next start in Cleveland early next week.

Skubal allowed three runs on five hits across seven innings but did not factor into the decision in Thursday's win over the Guardians. He walked one and struck out five.

Skubal probably deserves more than the three wins he has in nine starts this season, but Detroit has been sluggish offensively. The lefty has still pitched great with a 2.44 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 55 strikeouts across 51.2 innings this year. With Eduardo Rodriguez (ribs) and Casey Mize (elbow) both on the injured list at the moment, Skubal has emerged as the team's clear ace. He'll look to keep it rolling in his next scheduled outing Tuesday as part of a doubleheader against the Twins.

Mize (elbow) hopes to begin a throwing program this weekend or early next week, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Mize made a rehab start at Triple-A Toledo but returned to Lakeland afterward to slow down his rehab program. The right-hander has been limited to plyo throws since heading to Lakeland, so he'll presumably need some time to build back up once he resumes his throwing program. While manager A.J. Hinch is encouraged that Mize is feeling good after slowing down his rehab program, the team won't have a better idea of the righty's status until he begins his throwing program.

Rodriguez (ribs) played catch from 60-to-70 feet Thursday with no issues, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

The 29-year-old landed on the injured list over the weekend with a sprain on the left side of his rib cage, and his quick return to throwing is an encouraging sign for his recovery. Rodriguez still needs to ramp up the intensity of his throwing program, but he could be back on the mound in the near future if he avoids any setbacks.

Wentz was removed from Wednesday's start at Triple-A Toledo after he was hit on the shin by a comebacker, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Wentz lasted five innings during his first start after being sent down, but he was removed from Wednesday's outing after just two innings. The southpaw underwent X-rays that came back negative, so manager A.J. Hinch is hopeful that Wentz isn't dealing with a significant injury.

Manning (shoulder/illness) was shut down from throwing Thursday after being diagnosed with right biceps tendinitis, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

The 24-year-old wasn't believed to be dealing with an additional injury despite covering only 1.2 innings during Tuesday's rehab start, but he's now been shut down for the "foreseeable future." Manning has been sidelined by the shoulder injury since April 16, and he's now unlikely to be back until at least July due to the biceps injury.

Wells (1-4) took the loss Wednesday, allowing two runs on five hits and zero walks over five innings against the Yankees. He struck out two.

Wells was lights out through three innings, but he allowed a leadoff double to Aaron Judge and an RBI single to Miguel Andujar in the fourth. Another run came around to score on a throwing error from catcher Adley Rutschman, but Wells was able to limit the damage by getting back-to-back groundouts to end the inning. The right-hander sports a 4.30 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP through 37.2 innings, but his lack of strikeouts (25) has limited his fantasy upside to start the season.

Rasmussen (5-1) allowed three earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out seven across five innings to earn the win Wednesday against Miami.

Rasmussen began the outing with three scoreless innings but allowed the first four hitters to reach base in the fourth frame to account for the damage. Rasmussen has yet to allow more than three earned runs in any of his nine starts, though he has recorded more than 15 outs on only two occasions. For the season, he has maintained a 2.68 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 41:10 K:BB across 43.2 frames.

Ray (4-5) took the loss Wednesday, giving up three runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings as the Mariners fell 4-2 to the A's. He struck out 10.

The 10 whiffs tied his season high, as Ray fired 60 of 95 pitches for strikes in his fourth quality start of the year. Home runs continue to be an issue for the southpaw, however -- he got taken deep twice Wednesday and has served up homers in five straight starts, leaving him with a 4.75 ERA and 1.48 HR/9 despite a solid 1.20 WHIP and 68:21 K:BB through 60.2 innings.

Blackburn (5-0) picked up the win Wednesday, giving up one hit and five walks over 5.1 scoreless innings in a 4-2 victory over the Mariners. He struck out two.

It was a rough showing for the right-hander, who managed to get only 45 of 81 pitches over the plate before exiting, but Seattle couldn't take advantage of all the extra traffic on the basepaths. Blackburn had issued just seven free passes in 42.1 innings coming into the start, so his loss of control doesn't seems like a serious issue for now. He'll take a 1.70 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 36:12 K:BB into his next outing.
