Warren allowed two runs in the first inning but held the Orioles scoreless the rest of the way, logging his second straight quality start. While he generated just eight whiffs on 86 pitches, the 26-year-old has worked into the sixth inning in all four of his June outings and has allowed three earned runs or fewer in each of his past three. He'll carry a 4.66 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 96:31 K:BB across 75.1 innings into a home matchup with the Athletics next weekend.

The Yankees optioned Sandridge to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre following Sunday's 4-2 win over the Orioles.

New York called up Sandridge from the minors for the second time in less than week, but he'll once again be returned to the minors without having made an appearance out of the big-league bullpen. The Yankees haven't announced a corresponding move, but right-hander Allan Winans is expected to be recalled from Triple-A on Monday to start the team's series opener in Cincinnati.

Manager A.J. Hinch said Mize was removed Sunday's 9-3 win over the Rays due to right leg cramping, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

The 28-year-old took a no-decision and allowed one run on six hits with five strikeouts and no walks across five frames before departing one batter into the sixth inning, but he's not dealing with a significant injury. Mize should be fine to make his next turn through the rotation next weekend versus Minnesota, assuming he experiences no additional issues when he tosses his between-starts bullpen session in the next few days.

The Athletics transferred Hoglund (hip) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday.

The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for right-hander Jack Perkins, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Las Vegas. Hoglund is slated to miss the rest of the season after he underwent surgery on his left hip June 13.

The Red Sox recalled Fitts from Triple-A Worcester on Sunday.

Fitts last pitched for Worcester on Tuesday and could be available out of the bullpen for Sunday's series finale in San Francisco if needed, but the Red Sox will most likely stay away from him so that he can join the rotation for the team's upcoming three-game series in Anaheim that begins Monday. He'll be a logical replacement in the rotation for Hunter Dobbins (elbow), who was placed on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. Fitts was sent to Triple-A after the Angels roughed him up for six runs (five earned) in one inning June 2 in his second outing back from a stint on the injured list due to a pectoral strain, but the right-hander was solid his last time out for Worcester, striking out three batters and allowing two hits and no walks over five scoreless innings.

The Red Sox placed Dobbins on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to a right elbow strain.

Dobbins wasn't known to be dealing with an injury, but the elbow issue may explain his lack of efficiency in his most recent start in San Francisco on Friday, when he was charged with five runs (four earned) on four hits and five walks over four innings. The severity of Dobbins' elbow strain isn't known, but injuries of this sort often entail an absence of beyond the minimum 15 days. Richard Fitts was recalled from Triple-A Worcester in a corresponding move and will presumably replace Dobbins in the rotation during the upcoming week, though the starting spot could eventually go to Tanner Houck (elbow) upon his return from the IL.

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Sunday that Eovaldi (triceps) isn't expected to require a minor-league rehab assignment and should return from the 15-day injured list to make his next start with the big club, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

The Rangers were satisfied with how Eovaldi looked during a 50-pitch, three-inning live session earlier in the weekend and appear confident that he'll be able to pitch at a high level without the need for a minor-league assignment beforehand. Bochy didn't specify which day the Rangers have Eovaldi penciled in for his return to the rotation, but Landry relays that Friday's home game versus the Mariners appears to be the most logical target for the right-hander. Eovaldi could be under somewhat of a limited pitch count in his first start back from the IL, but he likely won't be under any restrictions in his appearances after that.

The Athletics selected Perkins' contract from Triple-A Las Vegas on Sunday.

The right-hander has been working as a starter with Las Vegas and has posted a 2.86 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 68:20 K:BB across 44 innings this season, though he may be ticketed for a relief role to begin his time in the big leagues with the Athletics having already announced starters for their next four games. According to Martin Gallegos of MLB.com, manager Mark Kotsay said Perkins will be available in relief Sunday against Cleveland, though the skipper didn't specify whether the 25-year-old will stick in that role going forward.

Mize was removed from Sunday's game against the Rays due to an apparent right leg injury, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

The right-hander was visited by the training staff after throwing a 92-mile-per-hour fastball -- more than two ticks below his season average -- during the sixth inning, and he left the game after appearing to flex his right leg. The specifics of the injury are unclear, and Mize's status should be updated by the team in the near future. Before exiting while the game was tied 1-1, MIze struck out five and was charged with one earned run on six hits and no walks over five innings.

Scherzer (thumb) confirmed that he'll be activated from the 60-day injured list to start Wednesday's game in Cleveland, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports. "My stuff is fine," Scherzer said Sunday. "I'm trying everything I can to manage this [thumb] and make sure I can recover...There's no knowing, just have to get out there."

Even though Scherzer is poised to make his first start since March 29, his right thumb seems like it may be an issue that he'll have to continue to manage. After striking out eight batters in 4.1 shutout innings in his second rehab outing with Triple-A Buffalo this past Wednesday, the 40-year-old was still dealing with some lingering soreness in his thumb afterward. Even so, Scherzer was able to temporarily quell concerns about his health by completing a bullpen session Sunday, prompting the Blue Jays to clear him to rejoin the rotation. He built up to 75 pitches during his last rehab start and shouldn't be under any major restrictions Wednesday, though the Blue Jays will presumably keep a careful watch on his workload and his effectiveness should he last deeper into the game.
