  • Dylan Bundy SP | NYM

Orioles' Dylan Bundy: Gives up unearned run over two innings

Bundy gave up one unearned run over two innings, giving up two hits and a walk against Oakland on Saturday. He struck out two in the outing.

Bundy has been effective in his 12 innings of work this year for the Orioles as he's given up only three earned runs while striking out five. The 23-year-old has also not given up more than one earned run in any of his nine appearances. As long as the young righty can continue to limit runs from crossing the plate, he should be reliable relief member for the Orioles throughout 2016.

  • Kyle Haynes SP | NYY

Yankees' Kyle Haynes: Placed on seven-day DL

Haynes (lat strain) was placed on the seven-day disabled list for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday.

Haynes has been pitching decently for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, going 1-1 with a 3.57 ERA and a 1.58 WHIP in seven starts, but is headed to the disabled list. According to Shane Hennigan, Haynes will shut it down for a week before moving forward with a rehab plan. Jake Cave will take Haynes' spot on the Triple-A roster.

  • Taijuan Walker SP | LAA

Mariners' Taijuan Walker: Will start Wednesday

Walker (neck) will get the start Wednesday against the Rays.

The young right-hander has been battling some neck spasms of late, but he was able to throw a bullpen session Monday and his neck issues appear to be behind him as he'll take the hill against the Rays on Wednesday.

  • Astros' Lance McCullers: To make 2016 debut Friday

McCullers (shoulder) will rejoin the rotation Friday against the Red Sox, Angel Verdejo of the Houston Chronicle reports.

After starting the season on the disabled list due to a sore throwing shoulder, McCullers is set to make his 2016 debut on Friday. He was sharp in his final rehab outing at Triple-A Fresno and he also noted that he felt ready for game action following his bullpen session Tuesday. Friday's start will be a bit of a baptism by fire for McCullers, however, as he'll be facing a Red Sox lineup that is averaging 6.3 runs per game in May.

  • Wade Miley SP | CIN

Mariners' Wade Miley: Notches victory Tuesday despite struggling with long ball

Miley (3-2) surrendered four hits, four earned runs and a walk over six innings in Tuesday's 6-4 victory over the Rays. He struck out six, but gave up three homers as well.

The 29-year-old southpaw continues to struggle with keeping the ball in the park, having surrendered eight homers over his first seven starts of 2016. Veteran Steve Pearce was able to touch up Miley for a pair of solo homers, while Steven Souza got in on the fun with his own bases-empty blast. The six-year veteran gave up only one hit otherwise, a double to Brandon Guyer. He'll be challenged to limit the long-ball damage once again in his next start, as he'll face a potent Orioles lineup in Baltimore next Tuesday.

  • Drew Smyly SP | CHC

Rays' Drew Smyly: Shelled by Mariners over five innings in Tuesday loss

Smyly (1-4) surrendered 10 hits and six earned runs over five innings in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Mariners. He struck out five.

He managed to miss some bats, recording 14 swinging strikes overall, but Smyly was done in by two homers that accounted for five of the six runs he gave up. Franklin Gutierrez got the scoring started with a 410-foot shot in the first that plated Ketel Marte, and Dae-Ho Lee put a 365-footer into the right-field bleachers in the fourth, driving in Chris Iannetta and Kyle Seager to give the Mariners a 6-2 lead. Smyly has been able to pitch only five innings in each of his last two starts, and has given up a pair of gopher balls in two of his last three trips to the mound as well. The six earned runs were the most he'd given up in a start this year, and his ERA climbed almost a full run to 3.63 due to his struggles Tuesday. He'll try his luck again Sunday against Sonny Gray and the A's in Tampa.

  • Jose Berrios SP | TOR

Twins' Jose Berrios: Goes five innings against O's in no-decision

Berrios allowed three runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out six over five innings against the Orioles on Tuesday. He did not factor in the decision in the Twins' 5-3 loss.

After holding the O's to one run through four, Berrios struck out Ryan Flaherty and Joey Rickard swinging to begin the fifth inning. Then Manny Machado got his third look at him. Machado homered and Adam Jones followed with a long ball of his own, souring what was shaping up to be a strong start for Berrios. There were still positives to take away from the outing, namely his one walk on the heels of a five-walk performance in his last start. Berrios comes with some risk, but the strikeouts make the bumps in the road easier to deal with.

  • Carlos Rodon SP | NYY

White Sox's Carlos Rodon: Gives up six runs to Rangers

Rodon allowed six runs on 12 hits and two walks despite striking out seven over 6.2 innings in a no-decision Tuesday against the Rangers.

Rodon was nasty at times, as he induced 15 swinging strikes, but Rangers hitters made him pay for his mistakes. Not only did Rodon give up a season high in hits, he allowed two homers accounting for four of the six runs the Rangers managed off him. Rodon has had no trouble drawing whiffs and has 40 strikeouts in 39.2 innings, but he has allowed fewer than three runs in a start just once in his past five outings and has allowed six home runs in that span. Rodon's talent is obvious, but major league hitters are figuring him out, and he's going to have to show he has the ability to adjust.

  • Kevin Gausman SP | CHC

Orioles' Kevin Gausman: Solid road start against Twins Tuesday

Gausman threw a quality start, allowing three runs in six innings, with nine strikeouts Tuesday against the Twins. He did not figure in the decision.

Gausman continued his hot start while laboring his way through 111 pitches, his highest count of the season. He has fallen under some tough luck early and is without a win in his four starts. Gausman had struck out just seven in 14 innings over his last two starts, so getting nine in six innings is a nice change of pace even if the Twins are one of the top five strikeout hitting teams this season.
