Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said in an interview Tuesday that Mize (hamstring) is a likely candidate to be placed on the 15-day injured list, Jim Duquette of MLB Network Radio reports.

Mize had to depart Sunday's start against the Angels with a left hamstring issue. While the initial hope was that he was merely dealing with a cramp, Hinch said Tuesday that it's more serious than that. Mize would be held out at least through the All-Star break if he is indeed placed on the IL. Matt Manning and Keider Montero are candidates to take Mize's spot in the Tigers' rotation.

Bush was promoted to Triple-A Charlotte on Monday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Bush will move up a level in the White Sox minor-league system after he produced a 2.12 ERA and 1.03 WHIP with 78 strikeouts over 80.2 innings in 14 starts with Double-A Birmingham this season. With Chicago completely out of the postseason picture and expected to be sellers at the trade deadline, it's possible that Bush could find his way to the major-league roster down the road if he impresses at the Triple-A level.

Brown (6-5) earned the win Monday against Toronto, allowing two hits and three walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out five.

The Houston right-hander continued his torrid hot streak, tossing an eighth consecutive quality start. Over those eight outings, Brown has gone 5-1 with a 1.29 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 53:14 K:BB across 49 innings. Despite sporting a 9.78 ERA after his first 23 innings, the 25-year-old has now lowered his overall ERA to 4.07 in 86.1 total innings. Brown is currently scheduled to make his next start against the Twins in Minnesota this weekend.

Rodriguez (0-3) took the loss Monday versus Houston, allowing one run on two hits and two walks over 6.2 innings. He struck out six.

The 27-year-old rookie pocketed his first career quality start in his longest outing of the season. Rodriguez generated 13 whiffs out of his 83 pitches to produce six punchouts. The Toronto right-hander's ERA now stands at 4.63 across 23.1 innings with 23:13 K:BB. With this performance, Rodriguez is likely to draw another start over Bowden Francis. He currently lines up to make his next appearance against Seattle on the road this weekend.

Detmers tossed six innings for Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday, allowing three runs on four hits and no walks while striking out 11 batters.

Detmers was optioned to Triple-A on June 1 after a series of poor starts with the Angels. His first minor-league outing since 2022 didn't go well, as he gave up seven runs over five frames in a June 7 start versus Sugar Land. The southpaw has improved since, and over his past two outings with Salt Lake he's struck out 21 hitters across 12 frames, though he's also surrendered eight earned runs over that stretch. Overall, Detmers has logged a 5.70 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 41:9 K:BB across 30 frames through five starts in the minors. Angels pitching coach Barry Enright said last week that Detmers was "trending in the right direction" in terms of improvement when addressing how the club will fill the rotation spot of Patrick Sandoval, who has since been ruled out for the season after undergoing an internal brace procedure to repair the UCL in his pitching elbow. That said, it's unclear what the team's plans are for Detmers moving forward. The Angels rotation has had a lot of moving parts of late -- in addition to Sandoval's injury, Zach Plesac was demoted to Triple-A on Saturday, Jose Soriano (abdomen) is slated to return from the injured list Tuesday, and Davis Daniel was promoted from the minors to make his first start of the season last Thursday. In addition, Roansy Contreras was moved from the bullpen to make a spot start last Wednesday and is slated to get another turn in the rotation this coming Thursday versus Oakland.

The Orioles activated Burnes (personal) from the paternity list Monday.

Burnes was away from the club for the final three games of its weekend series against the Rangers while tending to more important family matters. He's tentatively slated to make his next start Wednesday in Seattle, though that hasn't yet been confirmed.

Perales (elbow) underwent a full UCL reconstruction surgery last week, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

As anticipated, Perales required a traditional Tommy John surgery to repair the damage ligament in his right elbow rather than an internal brace procedure. As a result, Perales is unlikely to be ready to pitch late in the 2025 season, whereas an internal brace procedure would have resulted in a shorter timeline that could have put him in line to pitch at some point after the All-Star break in 2025. The 21-year-old -- who is regarded as one of the Red Sox's top pitching prospects -- should be back to full health in advance of spring training in 2026.

Brubaker (elbow) had his rehab assignment transferred from the Florida Complex League to Double-A Somerset on Sunday. He pitched three shutout innings for Somerset, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out three batters.

This was Brubaker's third outing of his rehab assignment -- he previously pitched one game for Single-A Tampa and one game for the FCL Yankees. The right-hander looked good Sunday, throwing 30 of 47 pitches for strikes and yielding just one hit (a double). Brubaker appears to be building up his workload to take on a starting role, and he'll likely need a few more rehab outings before he's ready to be activated off the injured list. Once that happens, he may be optioned to Triple-A if there isn't a spot open in the big club's rotation.

Rodriguez is scheduled to start Monday's game against the Astros in Toronto, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

After returning from the 15-day injured list June 21 and giving up five runs (four earned) over 1.1 innings in a loss to Cleveland that day, Rodriguez made his next turn through the rotation this past Wednesday in Boston. However, with that game getting paused in the top of the second inning due to severe weather and later postponed, Rodriguez won't get credited with statistics for that game until the contest is resumed Aug. 26 as part of a split doubleheader. As a result, Monday's start against the Astros will officially be Rodriguez's second since he returned from the IL.

Blackburn (foot) is scheduled to face hitters in live batting practice Wednesday, MLB.com reports.

Ross Stripling (elbow) is set to do the same Wednesday, as both hurlers look to be in the same spot in their respective rehab programs. Given that Stripling has been on the injured list since May 25 while Blackburn was deactivated May 13, the latter pitcher could need more time to get fully stretched back out during an eventual minor-league rehab assignment. The Athletics will likely determine whether either or both of Stripling or Blackburn are ready to report to an affiliate based on how they fare during their live sessions Wednesday.
