Luzardo allowed three runs on eight hits across four innings, taking the loss in Tuesday's 4-1 defeat to the Phillies in Game 1 of the NL Wild Card Series. He struck out five.

Luzardo was knocked around by the Phillies lineup early and often, giving up a hit to every batter besides Bryce Harper at some point in his four innings of work. The pressure of the Phillies' home crowd may have gotten to him some considering he uncorked a pair of wild pitches, one which set up an RBI single by Christian Pache in the fifth inning. After Tuesday's outing, Luzardo is up to a 6.75 ERA and 1.64 WHIP with 16 strikeouts across 14.2 career postseason innings.

Wheeler allowed one run on five hits across 6.2 innings to secure the win in Tuesday's 4-1 victory over the Marlins in Game 1 of the NL Wild Card Series. He struck out eight.

Wheeler was dominant in this outing, as he made quick work of the Marlins lineup, racking up 18 whiffs in the process. His sole mistake was allowing an RBI single to Bryan De La Cruz in the seventh inning that was set up by a defensive miscue when Wheeler forgot to cover first base. The right-hander thrives under pressure, as he now has a mint 2.55 ERA and 0.73 WHIP with 41 strikeouts across 42.1 career postseason innings.

Peralta will start Game 2 of the Brewers' NL Wild Card Series matchup against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

With Brandon Woodruff nursing a shoulder injury and out indefinitely, Peralta will be bumped up to start Wednesday. Peralta put up a 3.38 ERA and 0.83 WHIP through 26.2 innings across his final five starts of the regular season, though he surrendered four runs in just three frames during his most recent outing.

Cobb will get a second opinion on his troublesome left hip in the coming weeks, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Cobb battled hip discomfort throughout the second half and finished the regular season on the 15-day injured list with what was diagnosed as a left hip impingement. He's trying the rest-and-rehab route at the moment but will seek out other possible treatment options. San Francisco holds a $10 million club option (or $2 million buyout) on the 35-year-old right-hander for the 2024 campaign.

Cueto is not on the Marlins' roster for their NL Wild Card Series matchup against the Phillies that begins Tuesday.

Cueto logged only 52.1 innings (10 starts, three relief appearances) for Miami during the 2023 regular season while struggling to a 6.02 ERA. The 37-year-old right-hander carries a $10.5 million club option (or $2.5 million buyout) for the 2024 campaign.

Rea has made the Brewers' roster for their NL Wild Card Series matchup against the Diamondbacks.

The 33-year-old is essentially replacing Brandon Woodruff, who is in danger of missing the entire postseason because of a capsular injury in his right shoulder. Rea was terrific in a swingman role down the stretch for Milwaukee, delivering a 2.22 ERA and 25:6 K:BB over his final three starts and three relief appearances covering 24.1 innings.

Lorenzen is not on the Phillies' NL Wild Card Series roster, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Lorenzen twirled a no-hitter for the Phillies back on Aug. 9 but posted an 8.01 ERA and 18:15 K:BB over his final 30.1 innings. He would seem to have a shot to be added to the team's NLDS roster should they advance, but the Phils decided he wouldn't be needed for their series against the Marlins.

Manager Craig Counsell said Monday that Woodruff is tending to a right shoulder capsular injury and will be out for the Brewers' wild-card round series with the Diamondbacks, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. "His availability for the postseason is up in the air at this point," Counsell added.

Woodruff appeared to be lined up to start Game 2 of the series Wednesday, but those plans will be scrapped after the shoulder issue cropped up following his final regular-season appearance Sept. 23. The right-hander, who already missed four months earlier in the campaign with a Grade 2 subscapular strain, will get a second opinion later this week, but his chances of pitching in the postseason don't seem promising even if the Brewers make a deep run, per Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Freddy Peralta now becomes the most likely candidate to start Game 2 after Corbin Burnes takes the hill for Game 1 on Tuesday.

Burnes will start Game 1 of the National League Wild Card Series on Tuesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The Brewers have, arguably, three viable candidates to take the ball in Game 1, but Burnes has been lined up to pitch and was really the only candidate. Burnes finished the 2023 season with a 3.39 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 200:66 K:BB over 193.2 innings foor the Brew Crew. He'll be opposed by rookie Brandon Pfaadt.

Miller did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing one hit and one walk over four scoreless innings against the Giants. He struck out four.

Miller finished the regular season strong, allowing just four runs over his final three starts (17 innings) while issuing just two walks and striking out 20 in that span. The 24-year-old right-hander will wrap up his rookie campaign with an 11-4 record, 3.76 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 119 strikeouts over 22 starts (124.1 innings). Miller has established himself as a fixture in the Dodgers' rotation -- he's currently slated to make his playoff debut in Game 2 of the divisional round against either Arizona or Milwaukee.
