Manager Buck Showalter said Megill (biceps) will be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Friday against the Angels, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Megill has been on the shelf with right biceps tendinitis for the past month, but he'll rejoin the Mets' starting rotation Friday in Los Angeles. The 26-year-old threw 3.2 innings during his lone rehab outing in the minors, so he'll likely have some workload restrictions in his first start back from the injured list.

Anderson (5-3) allowed two earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out five across six innings to earn the win Wednesday against Oakland.

Anderson allowed both of his runs in the fourth inning, but he otherwise took advantage of the soft matchup to end a three-start stretch during which he had allowed at least four earned runs. His struggles had primarily been caused by the long ball, as Anderson served up a pair of home runs in each of his last two outings. However, he kept the ball in the yard Wednesday and induced seven groundball outs. Anderson has a 4.53 ERA and 50:26 K:BB across 59.2 innings on the season.

Keller didn't factor in the decision during Wednesday's 3-1 loss to Detroit after giving up one run on four hits over six innings. He had seven strikeouts and two walks.

It was arguably the right-hander's best start of the campaign, as it's only the second time through 11 outings he's been able to complete six frames. Keller has pitched better of late with a 2.64 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 17:10 K:BB across his past four starts, but he still has a 5.26 ERA for the season. He tentatively lines up to face the Cardinals early next week.

Nola (4-4) earned the win Wednesday after he pitched eight scoreless innings, allowing four hits while striking out six against the Brewers.

Nola was electric Wednesday, limiting the Brewers to just four singles and earning his third consecutive victory on the mound. The right-hander has been masterful against Milwaukee this season, tossing 15 scoreless frames with 15 punchouts over two starts against the team. Nola has been in a pattern of alternating strong outings and difficult outings over his last six starts, producing a 3.60 ERA and 0.90 WHIP with 44 strikeouts over 40 innings. He'll look to break that trend in his next outing, which tentatively lines up with him facing the Marlins on Monday.

Houser (3-6) got the loss Wednesday after he pitched six innings, surrendering five runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out five against the Phillies.

Houser had trouble with the Phillies lineup in this one, particularly when it came to the long ball. He gave up a two-run shot to Bryson Stott in the top of the third, another two-run homer to Kyle Schwarber in the fourth and a solo shot to Odubel Herrera in the fifth. The three home runs allowed were a season high for the 29-year-old, and he has now given up 11 runs over 15 innings in his last three starts. Houser's difficult stretch has raised his ERA from 2.98 to 3.92 over 57.1 frames in 11 starts this season. He'll look to right the ship Tuesday when he's tentatively set to face the Mets.

Hendricks isn't listed among the Cubs' probable starters for Friday's or Saturday's games against the Yankees, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

The Cubs have already given Hendricks some extra rest coming off his last start June 1, and it's unclear if he'll being taking the ball this weekend in New York. Chicago has yet to list a starter for Sunday, but Marcus Stroman will also be in the mix to pitch given his outing Wednesday was postponed due to inclement weather. One or both of Hendricks and Stroman will have to wait until next week before retaking the mound.

Gonsolin (7-0) got the win Wednesday after he pitched six innings, allowing one run on three hits and a walk while striking out five versus the White Sox.

Gonsolin was in full control Wednesday, limiting the White Sox to just one run on a Jake Burger solo homer in the bottom of the fifth inning. He has now rattled off five straight quality starts and has six total on the season. The 28-year-old has earned a win in four consecutive outings and now owns a superb 1.58 ERA and 0.86 WHIP with 54 strikeouts over 57 innings in 11 starts this year.

The left-hander missed the first month of the season with an elbow issue and made only three starts before heading back to the injured list with a shoulder strain, but he's poised to rejoin Chicago's rotation Friday. Miley didn't make any rehab starts this time around and hasn't pitched in a game since May 22, so he could face some workload limitations in his first game back from the injury.

Stroman won't start as scheduled Wednesday at Baltimore since the game was postponed due to inclement weather.

Wednesday's game was postponed following a lengthy rain delay, and it will be made up in mid-August. The Cubs have a scheduled day off Thursday, and it's unclear when Stroman will next take the mound, according to Gordon Wittenmyer of NBC Sports Chicago, since Wade Miley (shoulder) and Matt Swarmer are poised to start Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Manager David Ross said Wednesday that Miley (shoulder) is "definitely an option" to return during the Cubs' weekend series against the Yankees, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

The Cubs haven't yet announced their rotation for their three-game series in New York, but Miley is eligible to return from the injured list Friday and will be in the mix to rejoin the rotation at Yankee Stadium. The southpaw has made three starts this season and has posted a 3.38 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in 16 innings.
