Suarez did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's 6-4 loss to the Blue Jays, allowing one run on six hits and one walk with two strikeouts over five innings.

Suarez allowed a run in the second inning but otherwise kept the Blue Jays in check, throwing 54 of 81 pitches for strikes while allowing only four hard-hit balls. The southpaw continues to increase his workload since returning from the injured list July 26, as Wednesday marked the first time he worked five frames in four outings during that stretch. He'll take a 3.25 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 110:31 K across 108 innings this season into a road matchup with the Diamondbacks next week.

Baz (4-12) took the loss Wednesday, coughing up five runs on nine hits and a walk over three innings as the Orioles fell 7-5 to the Twins. He struck out two.

The right-hander took his sixth straight losing decision, a streak that began June 18 against the Mariners, and more worrying for Baltimore, Baz's velocity was way down Wednesday. Per Jake Rill of MLB.com, Baz averaged 94.0 mph with his fastball and topped out at 95.4 mph, a significant drop from the 96.0 mph he's averaged with the pitch in 2026. Through 139.1 innings this season, he sports a 4.00 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 122:47 K:BB, and Baz will look to bounce back in his next outing, which lines up to come early next week at home against the Yankees.

Soriano did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's 6-4 win over the Red Sox, allowing one run on four hits and two walks with four strikeouts over six innings.

Soriano opened with four scoreless innings before surrendering a solo homer in the fifth, throwing 63 of 90 total pitches for strikes en route to his first quality start with his new club. The 27-year-old has now yielded three earned runs or fewer in seven straight outings, including just two earned runs allowed over his past three. He'll carry a 3.16 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 134:62 K:BB across 133.2 innings with the Angels and Blue Jays into a road matchup with the Rays next week.

Warren took a no-decision against the Mariners on Wednesday, allowing five runs on six hits and four walks in four innings. He struck out three.

The ball was flying out of Yankee Stadium early and often Wednesday, and Warren served up three home runs on the evening. The right-hander is fighting to keep his rotation spot for when both Carlos Rodon (elbow) and Clarke Schmidt (elbow) return to action, but he's scuffled to a 5.87 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 47:22 K:BB over 11 starts since the beginning of June (53.2 innings). Warren will carry a 4.42 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 117:41 K:BB across 118 innings for the season into his next scheduled outing in Baltimore.

Kent took a no-decision against the Cubs on Wednesday, allowing three runs on three hits and five walks in four-plus innings. He struck out six.

Kent delivered four scoreless innings to open the game, but he was unable to record an out in the fifth after allowing three consecutive baserunners in the frame. The 23-year-old southpaw was making his MLB debut Wednesday, and he's looking at a potentially extended stay in Washington's rotation while the Nationals wait on Connelly Early (elbow) to get healthy. Kent's next outing is tentatively projected to come in Texas.

Peterson (7-7) earned the win against the Nationals on Wednesday, allowing four runs (three earned) on nine hits and three walks in six innings. He struck out five.

Peterson got knocked around a bit Wednesday, but he hung in there for his sixth consecutive start of at least five innings. The southpaw has conceded three runs or fewer in all but one of first eight outings for the Cubs, though the one exception was a 10-run implosion versus St. Louis on July 3. Peterson has a 4.19 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 31:16 K:BB over 43 innings for the Cubs ahead of his next scheduled appearance against the crosstown-rival White Sox.

Mahle (4-9) earned the win against the Mets on Wednesday, allowing one run on four hits and no walks with seven strikeouts over six innings.

Mahle cruised through five scoreless innings before surrendering a solo homer in the sixth, throwing 58 of 93 pitches for strikes with 15 whiffs. A change of scenery has benefited the 31-year-old, who's allowed just one earned run while racking up 16 strikeouts across two quality starts since joining Atlanta at the trade deadline. Overall, he owns a 4.64 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 105:39 K:BB across 106.2 innings between Atlanta and San Francisco this season. With Reynaldo Lopez (knee) expected to return from the injured list soon, it's unclear when Mahle will make his next appearance with his new club.

Thornton (3-3) took the loss against Atlanta on Wednesday, allowing three runs on seven hits and one walk with two strikeouts over six innings.

Thornton threw just 47 of 80 pitches for strikes with six whiffs but battled to earn his fifth quality start in eight outings with the Mets. The 24-year-old has now yielded three earned runs or fewer on seven occasions, though he sports a lackluster 7:6 K:BB over three August starts. He'll carry a 2.78 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 29:13 K:BB across 45.1 innings this season into a home matchup with the Padres next week.

Ray did not factor into the decision Wednesday against the Brewers, allowing two runs on two hits and three walks over four innings. He struck out four.

Ray's now given up six runs in nine innings through his first two starts with San Diego after posting a 1.09 ERA over his final eight outings (49.1 innings) with the Giants before the trade deadline. Overall, Ray is 10-7 on the season with a 3.28 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 113:65 K:BB across 131.2 innings. He'll look to turn things around in his next start, tentatively slated to come next week on the road against the Mets.

May didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Padres, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out six.

A Xander Bogaerts solo homer in the third inning accounted for San Diego's lone run against May, who's now turned in back-to-back quality starts since joining the Brewers -- he's given up three runs on seven hits across 13 innings in that span. Over 23 starts (122 innings) between Milwaukee and St. Louis this year, May sports a 4.13 ERA with a 1.25 WHIP and 117:40 K:BB. He's currently in line to face the Mariners at home his next time out.
