Montgomery allowed six runs on nine hits and three walks while striking out one over four innings in a no-decision versus the Nationals.

Montgomery put Arizona in a 5-0 hole before the team's offense had an at-bat. He was able to stretch out to 78 pitches (49 strikes) in his second start back from knee inflammation, but this was a discouraging performance. He was spared the loss when the Diamondbacks completed their comeback in the ninth inning. The veteran southpaw has a 6.51 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 48:27 K:BB through 15 starts this season. He's projected for a road start at Pittsburgh this weekend.

Skenes allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits and three walks while striking out six over six innings in a no-decision versus the Astros on Monday.

The three walks were a season high for Skenes, who wasn't as quite in the zone as he has been for the better part of the last two months. The 22-year-old still recorded his eighth straight quality start. Skenes is at a 1.90 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 103:16 K:BB through 80.2 innings over 13 starts.

Eflin (6-7) earned the win against Toronto in the first game of Monday's doubleheader, allowing three runs on 10 hits and no walks while striking out seven betters over six innings.

After being acquired in a trade with Tampa Bay on Friday, Eflin got the ball for Game 1 of Monday's twin bill. The right-hander wasn't at his sharpest, as he gave up a season-high 10 hits, but he was able to go just deep enough and pitch just well enough to pick up both a quality start and a victory. Eflin also tied his campaign high with seven punchouts while inducing 12 whiffs. His next start is tentatively slated to come in Cleveland this weekend.

Rea allowed two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out six over 5.1 innings in a no-decision versus Atlanta on Monday.

Rea put in a decent outing, though he allowed solo home runs to Marcell Ozuna and Orlando Arcia. This was the fourth time all year Rea has been tagged for multiple homers, and he's taken a no-decision in each of those instances. The veteran right-hander is now at a 3.59 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 90:35 K:BB through 115.1 innings over 21 appearances (18 starts). Rea is tentatively projected to make his next start on the road versus the Nationals.

Povich was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk following Monday's doubleheader with the Blue Jays, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Povich served as the Orioles' 27th man for the twin bill and drew the start for the nightcap. He was the pitcher of record in the Orioles' 8-4 loss, dropping to 1-5 on the season while striking out one batter and allowing six runs (three earned) on seven hits and five walks over 4.1 innings. The 24-year-old now owns a 6.27 ERA and 1.69 WHIP with 25 strikeouts over 37.1 frames in eight starts with Baltimore this season. He'll look to keep refining his craft with Norfolk.

Pivetta (5-7) allowed three runs on six hits and a walk over 6.2 innings Monday, striking out 10 and earning a win over Seattle.

Pivetta had it going on Monday, racking up 10 strikeouts for the third time in his last five starts. Pivetta had shown some impressive stuff in the month of July with 44 strikeouts and six walks over 27 innings in five starts. The 31-year-old snapped a streak of six outings without a win, he'll carry a 4.47 ERA into his next start currently scheduled vs the Rangers this weekend.

Marsh did not factor into the decision in Monday's 8-5 win over the White Sox, allowing two runs on six hits and one walk over 4.2 innings. He struck out three.

Marsh entered this outing with a 7.80 ERA across 15 innings in July and failed to get out of the fifth against a feeble White Sox lineup. The Royals right-hander lasted just 69 pitches before being relieved as Chicago had knocked five singles and one double off the 26-year-old. After pitching to a 3.76 ERA in 55 innings over his first 10 starts, he has produced a 5.82 ERA across 46.1 innings since June 8. Marsh may not have a spot in the rotation any longer as Kansas City acquired Michael Lorenzen on Monday and have not announced the rotation plans for the upcoming weekend series in Detroit.

Flexen did not factor into the decision in Monday's 8-5 loss to the Royals, allowing two runs on nine hits and no walks over six innings. He struck out two.

The Chicago right-hander collected his seventh quality start of the season and was in line for a win after the White Sox broke a tie in the bottom of the sixth, only to watch his bullpen blow the lead. After allowing 10 homers over his previous nine starts, Flexen kept the ball in the park in this 97-pitch performance, lowering his season ERA to 5.13 across 112.1 innings. He currently lines up to face the Twins in Minnesota for his next appearance this weekend.

Gilbert (6-7) took the loss Monday against the Red Sox, allowing seven runs on seven hits over 2.2 innings. He struck out four.

Gilbert got through the first two innings clean and then proceeded to allow all seven of his runs with two outs in the third before being pulled. The 2.2 innings is his shortest start of the season and his shortest since 2021. The seven runs allowed are his second most this season, he also allowed four extra-base hits, which is tied for his most in any start in 2024. This can be chalked up to a bad night for the 27-year-old, as he entered Monday with a 1.85 ERA in his previous seven starts.

Taillon (7-6) allowed six runs on six hits and a walk while striking out four over 4.1 innings to take the loss Monday versus the Reds.

Taillon was plagued by the long ball on Monday, serving up homers to Will Benson and TJ Friedl. It was the second time this season that Taillon allowed multiple home runs in a game, something he did eight times last season. Taillon entered Monday with a 2.47 ERA over his last eight starts, so the season-high six runs allowed can be chalked up to one rough outing.
