Eovaldi (8-4) picked up the win Monday in St. Louis, allowing three runs on six hits and no walks over six innings. He struck out two.

The grizzled veteran collected his 10th quality start of the season in this 82-pitch outing. Despite generating 11 whiffs, Eovaldi managed just two punchouts, equaling a season low reached twice previously. The 34-year-old closes out a stellar month of July over which he didn't walk a batter across 39 innings, pitching to a 3.23 ERA and 0.79 WHIP with 32 strikeouts. Eovaldi is currently scheduled to make his next start against the Red Sox at home this weekend.

Quintana (6-6) picked up the win Monday against Minnesota, allowing one run on five hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out five.

The veteran southpaw collected his eighth quality start of the season with this solid 97-pitch performance. Quintana appeared to be in for a rough evening, as he opened by allowing a leadoff double to Manuel Margot and run-scoring single to Byron Buxton. However, that wound up being the only run he surrendered, as the 35-year-old closed out July with a dazzling 2.05 ERA and 0.98 WHIP in 30.2 innings across five starts. Quintana is scheduled to make his August first start against a former team, the Angels, on the road this weekend.

Woods Richardson (3-2) took the loss Monday against the Mets, allowing six runs on seven hits and three walks over 3.1 innings. He struck out two.

The Minnesota right-hander struggled mightily in his first career appearance at Citi Field, allowing six earned runs and 10 baserunners, both marks setting season worsts. Things unraveled for Woods Richardson in the fourth when he yielded a leadoff 409-foot solo shot to Pete Alonso. The Twins starter wound up allowing four more runs while retiring just one in the inning before being relieved. Woods Richardson looks to bounce back in his next outing, currently slated to be against the White Sox at home this weekend.

Spiers (4-2) earned the win Monday over the Cubs, allowing one hit and two walks over five scoreless innings. He struck out four.

Spiers was sharp in his first start since July 12 due to a shoulder injury. The rookie gave up a hit to the fourth batter he saw and then pitched the next four innings, only allowing a single walk. He was pulled after 68 pitches due to a likely pitch count in his first outing coming off the injured list. The 26-year-old has a 3.46 ERA and 1.19 WHIP over 52 innings this season, he's slated to face the Giants next in a two-start week.

The Brewers acquired Montas from the Reds on Monday in exchange for outfielder Joey Wiemer, right-hander Jakob Junis and cash considerations, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.

Montas will remain in the NL Central, heading to Milwaukee after compiling a 5.01 ERA and 1.44 WHIP with 78 strikeouts over 93.1 innings in 19 starts with the Reds this season. The right-hander has had a rough three-start run since July 10, allowing 16 runs over 16 innings, raising his ERA from 4.19 to 5.01. The Brewers have gotten the most out of their starters in 2024, and they'll look to help Montas recapture his form from 2021, a season in which he produced a 3.37 ERA with 207 strikeouts over 187 innings in 32 starts with the Athletics.

Bibee (9-4) got the win Monday, allowing two runs on seven hits over six innings in a 8-4 victory over the Tigers. He struck out two without walking a batter.

Bibee got through the first six innings unscathed before getting into trouble and giving up two in the seventh. It was another quality start for the 25-year-old, and he has now allowed just three runs in three outings since the All-Star break. Bibee has paced the Guardians rotation this season with a 3.48 ERA over 121.2 innings. He's scheduled to face the Orioles next in a weekend series at Progressive Field.

The Blue Jays acquired Bloss, outfielder Joey Loperfido and infielder Will Wagner from the Astros on Monday in exchange for left-hander Yusei Kikuchi, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.

Bloss was scheduled to start for the Astros on Monday against the Pirates, but he was a late scratch due to his inclusion in the trade. He last pitched Tuesday, so he could slot into the Toronto rotation for its series this week in Baltimore. One of the Astros' top pitching prospects, Bloss had a 1.48 ERA, 0.68 WHIP and 38 strikeouts in 48.2 innings across his last nine minor-league starts, primarily at Double-A. He doesn't have dominant stuff, but Bloss has a deep pitch mix and throws strikes (5.5 percent walk rate in the majors).

The Astros acquired Kikuchi from the Blue Jays on Monday in exchange for outfielder Joey Loperfido, right-hander Jake Bloss and infielder Will Wagner, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Kikuchi will head to Houston after producing a disappointing 4.75 ERA and 1.34 WHIP with 130 strikeouts over 115.2 innings in 22 starts with Toronto this season. The left-hander has struggled to a 6.87 ERA over his last 12 starts, but he'll look to get back on track with the Astros. Kikuchi will return to the AL West after spending the first three years of his major-league career with the Mariners from 2019 through 2021.

Atlanta activated Waldrep (elbow) from the 15-day injured list Monday and optioned him to Triple-A Gwinnett, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Waldrep had been on the shelf since mid-June while nursing right elbow inflammation, but Atlanta came away convinced in his health after the right-hander tossed a pair of two-inning rehab starts between the rookie-level Florida Complex League and Single-A Augusta last week. Before being deactivated, the right-hander made two starts with Atlanta, giving up 13 runs over seven innings. He had previously made only one start with Gwinnett before being called up for his MLB debut, so Atlanta will likely have Waldrep settle in for a bit in the Triple-A rotation and find some success before considering him for a return to the majors.

The Nationals acquired Clemmey and infielders Jose Tena and Rafael Ramirez from the Guardians on Monday in exchange for outfielder Lane Thomas, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.

Clemmey is the regarded as the top asset of the three-prospect haul heading to Washington in the deal. The 58th overall pick in the 2023 First-Year Player Draft, Clemmey has produced a 5.15 ERA with an impressive 12.4 K/9 over 71.2 innings in 20 starts with Single-A Lynchburg so far this season. The left-hander will likely report to Washington's Single-A affiliate in Fredericksburg.
