  • Carlos Correa SS | HOU

Twins' Carlos Correa: Early exit Thursday

Correa exited Thursday's game against Baltimore after being hit by pitches in both the wrist and hand, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.

Correa was hit in the left wrist and right hand in consecutive at-bats. The extent of his injuries are not yet clear, and it's possible he was removed as a precaution. Nick Gordon replaced Correa at shortstop.

  • Joey Wendle 2B | ATL

Marlins' Joey Wendle: Returns to lineup

Wendle (hamstring) is starting Thursday against the Padres, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Wendle missed the last three games due to hamstring soreness, but he'll start at third base and bat seventh in Thursday's series opener. Over his last four games, he's gone 1-for-13 with a double, a run, a stolen base and a walk.

  • Willy Adames SS | SF

Brewers' Willy Adames: Two blasts in blowout win

Adames went 2-for-4 with two two-run home runs, a walk and an additional run scored during Thursday's 10-5 win over the Reds.

Adames hit a two-run shot off Reds starter Hunter Greene in the bottom of the second inning to give the Brewers a 6-3 lead and added another two-run dinger off Art Warren in the eighth to extend Milwaukee's advantage. The shortstop has seven home runs and 17 RBI over his last 10 games.

  • Paul DeJong SS | DET

Cardinals' Paul DeJong: Notches steal Wednesday

DeJong went 0-for-2 with a walk, an RBI, a stolen base and a run scored in Wednesday's 10-0 win over the Royals.

DeJong is now 0-for-8 over his last three games, but he was able to do provide some value Wednesday despite not recording a hit. He walked, stole second and scored in the seventh inning before adding a sacrifice fly in the eighth. The shortstop still owns a lackluster .127/.222/.222 slash line with one home runs, three stolen bases, five RBI and six runs scored through 72 plate appearances. Utility man Brendan Donovan could challenge DeJong for playing time while Edmundo Sosa (illness) is on the COVID-19 injured list.

  • Tommy Edman 2B | LAD

Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Solid in big win

Edman went 0-for-2 with three walks, a stolen base and two runs scored in Wednesday's 10-0 win over the Royals.

Edman has recorded five of his six steals this season in his last eight games, batting .333 (9-for-27) in that span. The second baseman's strong hitting of late has helped him regain a near-everyday spot atop the order. He has a .308/.419/.474 slash line with three home runs, 11 RBI and 16 runs scored in 23 contests.

  • Ehire Adrianza 3B | LAA

Nationals' Ehire Adrianza: Begins running on treadmill

Adrianza (quadriceps) was cleared to begin running on an anti-gravity treadmill Wednesday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

The activity marks a small step forward for Adrianza, who has been on the shelf since suffering a left quad strain in a March 31 Grapefruit League game. The Nationals moved him to the 60-day injured list a couple weeks ago, so Adrianza will be on the shelf until at least early June while he recovers from the injury. A clearer target date for Adrianza's 2022 debut with the Nationals likely won't emerge until he advances to a minor-league rehab assignment.

  • Matt McLain 2B | CIN

Reds' Matt McLain: Power on full display

McLain has four home runs and nine RBI with three strikeouts and zero walks over his last three games for Double-A Chattanooga.

Unfairly labeled by some as a light-hitting shortstop coming out of college, McLain is proving to have all the tools through his first month at Double-A. The 22-year-old shortstop is hitting .278/.363/.696 with seven home runs, five steals on five attempts, a 9.9 BB% and a 26.4 K% in 91 plate appearances. The strikeout rate is a bit high, but the Reds certainly seem to have nailed their first-round pick in last year's draft.

  • Carlos Correa SS | HOU

Twins' Carlos Correa: Homers in blowout loss

Correa went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer during Wednesday's 9-4 loss to the Orioles.

After a leadoff walk to Luis Arraez to start the fourth, Correa smacked his second home run of the season to deep center. The high-priced free agent has had mixed results so far with Minnesota, but he's currently on a seven-game hitting streak. During that stretch, he's slashing .452/.645/1.114 with eight RBI.

  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Red Sox's Trevor Story: Shows positive signs

Story went 2-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI in Wednesday's 10-5 extra-inning loss to the Angels.

Well before Boston's bullpen melted down in the final two innings, Story was the "story" for the Red Sox. He's struggled since Opening Day but has shown recent signs he may be turning the corner at the plate. He had a two-hit game Saturday in Baltimore followed by a three-walk effort Sunday. "That was a big day for me, the three walks," Story told Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com. "When I can control the strike zone like that and make decisions like that, good things are going to come. I've felt that way for the past week and it has been nice. I know I'm pretty close." Perhaps signing late in spring training has led to a slow start. Story has yet to homer and has a career-high 28.4 K%.

  • Giants' Brandon Crawford: Homers in loss

Crawford went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's loss to the Dodgers.

The Giants were unable to muster much offense against Los Angeles pitching Wednesday, as Crawford produced the team's only run with his second-inning solo shot off Tony Gonsolin. The long ball was his second of the campaign and first since April 15. Crawford hit a career-high 24 homers in 2021, but he's far behind that pace through 94 plate appearances this season.
