Whitcomb went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run scored in Saturday's 6-1 win over the White Sox.

Whitcomb didn't feature in Friday's contest after receiving his first career call-up from Triple-A Sugar Land. He only had to wait a day for his debut, and he made the most of it as one of six Astros to log multiple hits. Whitcomb got the start at third base in place of Alex Bregman (elbow), who is considered day-to-day. Whitcomb slashed .293/.378/.530 with 25 home runs, 26 stolen bases, 91 RBI and 73 runs scored over 108 contests with Sugar Land. Assuming he adjusts adequately to major-league pitching, his defensive versatility should be enough for him to find his way into the lineup, especially if he can push the struggling Jon Singleton for playing time at first base.

Jimenez tweaked his knee backing up a steal attempt in the first inning of Saturday's game against the Cubs, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports. The Blue Jays don't consider the injury serious and Jimenez isn't undergoing any testing.

Jimenez didn't take the field following Saturday's rain delay after tweaking his knee. The removal appears to be precautionary, but Jimenez should still be considered day-to-day.

Hamilton is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against Baltimore.

Hamilton will give way to Romy Gonzalez at second base Saturday as lefty Cade Povich takes the mound for the Orioles. Hamilton went 2-for-4 with a home run and a stolen base Friday.

Jimenez was replaced in the lineup after play resumed Saturday against the Cubs following a rain delay, Mike Wilner of the Toronto Star reports.

Steward Berroa pinch hit for Jimenez after the rain delay, and it's likely Ernie Clement will slide to shortstop with Addison Barger coming in from the outfield to play third base. Jimenez should be considered day-to-day with an undisclosed injury until further notice.

Caballero is absent from Saturday's lineup against Arizona, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Caballero will begin Saturday's contest in the dugout after going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Friday's game against the Diamondbacks. Taylor Walls will start at shortstop and bat eighth against Arizona right-hander Zac Gallen.

Cruz (ankle) will serve as the designated hitter and bat second in Saturday's game against the Mariners.

Cruz injured his left ankle while turning towards third base in the seventh inning of Friday's game against Seattle. The injury won't keep him out of Saturday's contest, though he'll avoid fielding duties while Isiah Kiner-Falefa gets the start at shortstop.

Sweeney is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Yankees.

Sweeney made his major-league debut Friday, going 1-for-3 with one strikeout. With the Yankees sending southpaw Carlos Rodon to the mound Saturday, the lefty-hitting Sweeney will retreat to the bench. Javier Baez will start at shortstop and bat eighth.

Correa (heel) ran at full speed for the first time in a week Thursday, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. "We need to get him to where he's comfortable running on a daily basis, not having soreness the next day," said Twins head athletic trainer Nick Paparesta.

Correa was placed on the 10-day injured list July 20 due to right plantar fasciitis. It initially didn't appear he would be out long, but he was still experiencing pain in his heel in early August while jogging. It sounds like he's ramped up his activity in recent days, but there's still no timeline for when he might begin a rehab assignment.

Kim went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Rockies.

Kim ended a 40-game homer drought, lifting his first long ball since June 22 when he went deep in the second inning. The shortstop hit .246 and slugged a paltry .292 during his power drought. He's slashing .229/.328/.365 with 11 homers, 47 RBI, 60 runs scored and 22 stolen bases over 119 contests, but his drop in production this year has yet to cost him his starting role at shortstop.

Winn went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's 7-6 loss to the Dodgers.

Winn has gone 3-for-17 with two extra-base hits since returning from an illness. The shortstop showed a little pop with four homers over a 10-game span from July 26 to Aug. 4, though he's had to settle for four doubles and a homer over his last nine contests. He continues to impress with a .275/.325/.415 slash line, 10 homers, 42 RBI, 57 runs scored and 10 stolen bases over 113 contests this season.
