  • Jeremy Pena SS | HOU

Astros' Jeremy Pena: Doubles twice in win

Pena went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a walk, an RBI and a run scored Monday against the Angels.

Pena played a big role in the Astros' eight-run performance Tuesday, leading off the third inning with a double before coming around to score. Three frames later, he drove in a run with another two-base hit. Pena has multiple hits in five of his last 10 starts, also tallying six RBI and five runs scored in that span.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Keeping power up

Perdomo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 7-5 extra-inning loss to the Rangers.

Perdomo has hit three homers and has a total of five extra-base hits over his last 10 games, going 10-for-41 (.244) in that span. The shortstop went back-to-back with Ketel Marte in the first inning to give Arizona an early advantage. Perdomo is up to 16 homers this season, two more than he had overall in the first three full campaigns of his career. He's added a .285/.385/.448 slash line with 88 RBI, 86 runs scored and 24 stolen bases across 138 contests.

  • Bo Bichette SS | NYM

Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Stays hot in four-hit game

Bichette went 4-for-4 with a two-run home run, a double and an additional run scored in Monday's 5-4 loss to the Reds.

Bichette amassed at least four hits for the fifth time this season, and the homer was his 17th on the year. After logging a career-worst .599 OPS during an injury-ruined 2024 regular season, Bichette has returned to form as one of fantasy's top shortstops in 2025. The infielder leads MLB in hits (176), and Bichette is batting a scorching .374 with six long balls, 22 doubles and 39 RBI over his last 211 at-bats since the start of July.

  • White Sox's Colson Montgomery: Blasts another homer

Montgomery went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Monday's 6-5 victory over Minnesota.

The rookie shortstop opened the game's scoring with a 395-foot solo shot off Twins starter Bailey Ober in the second. This marks the second consecutive contest Montgomery has gone deep, as he's launched a long ball in six of his last eight games. Despite a mediocre .229 batting average, the 23-year-old has been a reliable fantasy option since debuting July 4, tallying 16 homers, 39 RBI and 27 runs scored in 47 games.

  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Red Sox's Trevor Story: Cracks homer, three hits

Story went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional RBI in Monday's 6-4 victory over the Guardians.

The Boston shortstop poked a ball around Pesky's Pole in right for a 306-foot round tripper off Cleveland reliever Jakob Junis in the eighth. Monday's contest marked Story's 10th three-hit performance of the season, as he is coming off a hot August during which he slashed .278/.345/.472 with five homers and seven steals over 119 plate appearances. Overall, the 32-year-old is now slashing .260/.307/.437 with 23 homers, 24 steals, 86 RBI and 78 runs scored in 558 total plate appearances.

  • Chase Meidroth SS | CHW

White Sox's Chase Meidroth: Day-to-day with sprained ankle

Meidroth is day-to-day after exiting Monday's game versus the Twins with a right ankle sprain, Kyle Williams of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Meidroth initially remained in the game after tweaking his ankle, but he was eventually removed for a pinch runner in the eighth inning after reaching base on an error. The rookie infielder went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run before departing Monday's contest.

  • Rays' Carson Williams: Exiting starting nine

Williams is absent from the lineup for Monday's game against the Mariners.

Williams had started each of the previous eight tilts upon his promotion from Triple-A Durham, but he'll get a breather during Monday's series opener as he navigates through a 1-for-13 stretch at the plate. One big potential road block to Williams' playing time was cleared when Ha-Seong Kim (back) was claimed off waivers by Atlanta, increasing his chances at keeping an everyday role at shortstop even if he goes through a rough stretch at the plate. It will be Tristan Gray subbing in for Williams at shortstop Monday.

  • Brewers' Andruw Monasterio: Sitting in Ortiz's return

Monasterio is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Phillies.

With Joey Ortiz (hamstring) returning from the 10-day injured list and stepping back in at shortstop Monday, Monasterio appears set to move back into a utility role. Monasterio filled in admirably for Ortiz, covering shortstop for each of the past 10 games while slashing .371/.405/.657 with two home runs, four doubles, one walk, five runs and four RBI. Monasterio still has an active 11-game hitting streak, during which the 28-year-old has raised his season average from .242 to .294.

  • Ha-seong Kim 2B | ATL

Braves' Ha-Seong Kim: Claimed by Atlanta

Atlanta claimed Kim (back) off waivers from Tampa Bay on Monday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

Atlanta will be on the hook for the roughly $2 million remaining on Kim's contract this season, and the 29-year-old holds a $16 million player option for 2026. Kim had been on the shelf since Aug. 21 due to lower back inflammation, but he's ready for activation, according to Rosenthal. The 29-year-old infielder got off to a delayed start of the 2025 season after undergoing labrum surgery last fall, and he's slashed just .214/.290/.321 over 24 games at the big-league level while also missing time with calf, foot and back injuries. Once he's reinstated, Kim could wind up getting a look in an everyday role at shortstop for Atlanta down the stretch.

  • Cubs' Ben Cowles: Booted from 40-man roster

Chicago designated Cowles for assignment Monday.

Cowles will cede his spot on the 40-man roster to first baseman Carlos Santana, who was signed to a one-year contract. Acquired from the Yankees last summer, Cowles has yet to make his MLB debut, and his numbers have taken a hit in 2025 after he was added to the 40-man roster over the winter. Cowles has slashed .242/.306/.389 with nine home runs and 16 stolen bases while striking out at a 28.6 percent clip across 462 plate appearances with Iowa.
