Bliss has been added to the Mariners' taxi squad in case he's needed to replace Jorge Polanco (hamstring) on the roster, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Bliss, 24, has slashed .247/.382/.445 with seven home runs and 28 stolen bases with Triple-A Tacoma this season. Acquired from the Diamondbacks in last year's Paul Sewald trade, Bliss is not currently on the Mariners' 40-man roster.

Ahmed (wrist) is slated to take batting practice in the coming days, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Ahmed has been sidelined since early may with a left wrist sprain but is almost ready to face live pitching. It's not clear whether the Giants will ask Ahmed to go out on a rehab assignment before being activated from the 10-day injured list. Marco Luciano and Brett Wisely have been filling in at shortstop while Ahmed is on the shelf.

Winn will start at shortstop and bat leadoff Monday against the Reds, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

With lefty Nick Lodolo due up for Cincinnati, Cardinals skipper Oliver Marmol will give the rookie another opportunity to set the table. Winn has made two other starts in the leadoff spot this season but has primarily hit in the bottom third of the order. That could change given Winn's hot hitting; he's riding a 15-game hitting streak during which he's slashing .375/.404/.604.

Schuemann went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in a loss to the Astros on Sunday.

Schuemann's 403-foot solo shot to center field in the sixth inning put the first run of the day on the board for the Athletics and served as his first time leaving the yard since May 12. However, Schuemann has been on a surge at the plate recently despite the infrequent power and a brief 0-for-7 skid he snapped out of Sunday -- he boasts a .333/.375/.467 slash line over the 32 plate appearances covering his last eight games.

Volpe went 1-for-3 with a walk, a steal and a run scored in Sunday's loss to the Padres.

Volpe extended his hitting streak to 19 games with a single in the sixth inning. He would then steal second and come around to score off a Juan Soto double to open up the scoring and force Joe Musgrove out of the game. His hit streak is the longest by a Yankee since Derek Jeter in 2012. Volpe is currently tied for sixth in the American League with 61 hits and tied for fifth with 11 steals. The 23-year-old has been thriving in the leadoff spot for the majority of the season and is now slashing .282/.355/.435 with 18 extra-base hits, 23 RBI, 36 runs and a 22:52 BB:K in 244 plate appearances.

Hamilton started at shortstop and went 1-for-3 with two steals in Sunday's 2-1 win over Milwaukee.

Hamilton has hit well since the middle of the month, going 10-for-30 with five extra-base hits and three steals over the last 10 games. As long as the bat holds up, there should be avenues to playing time for him; if not at shortstop, then second base where Vaughn Grissom has not taken hold of an everyday job.

Romero (back) has gone 7-for-27 (.259 average) with three extra-base hits and one walk in six games since being reinstated from High-A Greenville's 7-day injured list May 14.

Romero opened the season on the IL while completing his rehab for the lower-back injuries that cost him time during the 2023 campaign. He began a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Florida Complex League on May 7 and played in three games before getting the green light to rejoin Greenville.

Wisely went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Mets.

Wisely has strung together three multi-hit efforts, going 7-for-11 in that span. The homer was his first extra-base hit of the campaign. That hot stretch has allowed Wisely to mount a challenge for playing time at shortstop, which has come at the expense of Marco Luciano. It's a battle the Giants will likely hope for Luciano to win in the long run, as Wisely is best suited to a bench role given his defensive versatility.

Abrams went 1-for-4 with a three run home run in Sunday's 9-5 loss to Seattle.

Abrams broke out of a minor slump Sunday, slugging his first home run since April 29 and recording his first RBI since May 18. He has cooled off significantly in the month of May, slashing .209/.225/.256 with four RBI and eight runs scored. Despite the recent struggles, the 23-year-old has still had a productive season, batting .257 with eight home runs, 21 RBI, 30 runs scored and eight stolen bases.

Seager went 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Twins.

Seager had just two homers through the end of April, but his power swing has returned in a big way. The shortstop has clubbed six homers over his last six games and is now at 11 long balls on the year. He's also gone 13-for-37 (.351) during a 10-game hitting streak. Seager's surge has him up to a .258/.349/.447 slash line with 24 RBI, 25 runs scored, no stolen bases and three doubles through 49 contests overall.
