Tim Anderson 2B | LAA
Marlins' Tim Anderson: Back in action Monday
Anderson (illness) will start at shortstop and bat fourth in Monday's game versus the Giants.
Anderson missed the previous two contests with an illness, but he's feeling well enough to give it a go Monday. It's the first time this season that he's been up in the cleanup spot for Miami, as Anderson has mostly hit sixth or seventh.

Marlins' Otto Lopez: Recalled from Triple-A
Lopez was recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Otto Lopez SS | MIA
Marlins' Otto Lopez: Set to be recalled
Lopez will be recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville prior to Monday's game against the Giants, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Lopez was claimed off waivers earlier this month and has gone 15-for-26 with two home runs at Jacksonville. The utility player should be used in a reserve role.

David Hamilton SS | MIL
Red Sox's David Hamilton: Absent from Monday's lineup
Hamilton is not in the lineup for Monday's contest versus the Guardians.
Hamilton had started six of the last seven games at shortstop, but he will yield to Ceddanne Rafaela on Monday. Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Monday that Wilyer Abreu will become a regular versus righties moving forward, per Rob Bradford of WEEI.com, which would seem to indicate he plans to use Rafaela more at shortstop. It could mean Hamilton squeezed out of regular at-bats.

Gunnar Henderson 3B | BAL
Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Adds steal in win
Henderson went 2-for-3 with a stolen base, one RBI and one run scored in Sunday's 6-4 win over the Brewers.
Henderson hit a game-tying RBI single in the seventh inning. The shortstop has turned things around by hitting safely in five of the last six games while adding four RBI in that span. He's batting .233 on the year with a 5:16 K:BB through 67 plate appearances, but he's also provided well-rounded production in the counting stats with three home runs, four steals, 10 RBI and 10 runs scored. Henderson has yet to hit anywhere other than leadoff in 2024.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Tigers' Javier Baez: Pops first home run
Baez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Twins.
Baez has gotten off to a horrendous start, as he's batting just .140 with a .361 OPS even after the home run, which was his first of the season. The shortstop has had a rough time in Detroit the last three years, and his big contract is likely the main reason he's holding onto a starting role. However, the Tigers could choose to reduce Baez's playing time if he doesn't pick things up soon.

Trea Turner SS | PHI
Phillies' Trea Turner: First homer of 2024
Turner went 3-for-4 with a solo home run with an additional RBI during Sunday's 9-2 loss to Pittsburgh.
Turner was the lone source of offense for the Phillies, notching a solo homer off Mitch Keller in the third inning and then driving in Johan Rojas on a fifth-inning single. Turner is slashing .302/.371/.397 with four stolen bases across 16 games played.

Masyn Winn SS | STL
Cardinals' Masyn Winn: Not starting Sunday
Winn won't start Sunday against the Diamondbacks, John Denton of MLB.com reports.
Winn takes a seat for the fourth time in 16 games this season, though he's off to a hot start with a .349 average, five RBI and two steals. Brandon Crawford will start at shortstop and bat ninth Sunday.

Nick Allen SS | HOU
Athletics' Nick Allen: On bench Sunday
Allen is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.
Allen will head to the bench for the second time in four games after a 1-for-4 showing at the plate in Saturday's 3-1 loss actually improved to his season-long slash line to a woeful .167/.205/.214 over 44 plate appearances. Darell Hernaiz will get a start at shortstop and could be pushing Allen for primary duties at the position.
