Victor Mesa Jr. RF | TB
Rays' Victor Mesa: On bench Wednesday
Mesa is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Mesa will head to the bench after he went 2-for-8 with a home run and a walk over the first two games of the series in Baltimore. While Ryan Vilade will get the nod in right field Wednesday against Orioles righty Trey Gibson, the left-handed-hitting Mesa is the better bet to see the bulk of the starts versus righties while he's up with the big club.

Rikuu Nishida RF | CHW
White Sox's Rikuu Nishida: Hitting bench after pair of starts
Nishida is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.
The White Sox will shield the left-handed-hitting Nishida from Twins southpaw Connor Prielipp and will go with Randal Grichuk in right field in place of the rookie. After being called up from Triple-A Charlotte on Monday, Nishida opened his MLB career with a pair of starts against Minnesota and went 2-for-7 with a run scored between those contests. Nishida looks like he'll get a look as a strong-side platoon outfielder after the White Sox designated Jarred Kelenic for assignment Monday.

Taylor Walls SS | TB
Rays' Taylor Walls: Out again Wednesday
Walls (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Baltimore.
Walls was a late scratch Tuesday because of left hamstring tightness, and he will miss a second straight start. Carson Williams will fill in at shortstop. Walls will have another day to rest Thursday when the Rays are idle and is expected to be back in the lineup for Friday's series opener against the Angels, per Ryan Bass of Rays.tv.

Tristan Peters CF | CHW
White Sox's Tristan Peters: Idle against lefty
Peters is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.
He had been included in the lineup the last time the White Sox faced a lefty starter (the Giants' Robbie Ray) on Sunday, but the left-handed-hitting Peters will bow out of the starting nine Wednesday while southpaw Connor Prielipp takes the hill for Minnesota. Luisangel Acuna will receive the nod in center field in place of Peters.

Drew Romo C | CHW
White Sox's Drew Romo: Resting up Wednesday
Romo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.
Romo will retreat to the bench after he started behind the plate in the first two games of the series and went 1-for-7 with a home run and two RBI between those contests. Edgar Quero will handle catching duties Wednesday, forming a battery with right-hander David Sandlin.

Logan Driscoll C | TB
Rays' Logan Driscoll: Back in action in minor leagues
Triple-A Durham activated Driscoll (ankle) from its 7-day injured list Friday and assigned him to Single-A Charleston.
Driscoll, who opened the year on the injured list, completed a rehab assignment with the Florida Complex League Rays and then Charleston before being reinstated. The 28-year-old catcher is under a minor-league contract with Tampa Bay and has made seven appearances for the Single-A club overall, batting .231 with three extra-base hits, five RBI and one walk across 28 plate appearances.

Patrick Sandoval SP | BOS
Red Sox's Patrick Sandoval: Throws bullpen session
Sandoval (biceps/elbow) threw a 30-pitch bullpen session Wednesday, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.
Sandoval will next progress to a live batting practice session Saturday, which will be the first time he's faced hitters since experiencing a setback in the form of a biceps issue in late April. The left-hander initially went on the injured list before the season as he continued his recovery from internal brace surgery. Sandoval noted Wednesday that he has a timetable in mind for a return, but he declined to divulge what it is. He threw 5.1 rehab innings before the setback and will need to restart a rehab assignment once he's deemed game-ready.

Carlos Narvaez C | BOS
Red Sox's Carlos Narvaez: On bench again Wednesday
Narvaez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.
Narvaez will take a seat for the second day in a row and for the third time in the last four games. Mickey Gasper is drawing a second straight start at catcher Wednesday, and the Red Sox also have Connor Wong on hand to vie for playing time at the position. Even if Narvaez remains the Red Sox's nominal No. 1 catcher, he'll need to earn a greater share of the playing time to have any chance at making a more meaningful impact for fantasy owners. Through 35 games this season, Narvaez is hitting .218 with two home runs, one stolen base, 13 runs and three RBI.
