Angels manager Kurt Suzuki said Wednesday that Rodriguez (shoulder) is a candidate to start Sunday's game versus the Dodgers, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.

Rodriguez pitched well in a rehab start for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Sunday, striking out 11 over 4.2 innings while yielding two runs. He got his pitch count up to 94 in the outing, so the righty is sufficiently stretched out. Rodriguez has been out all season with right shoulder inflammation and has not made an appearance at the major-league level since 2024 due to multiple arm injuries. He was acquired from the Orioles in November in exchange for Taylor Ward.

Raleigh went 2-for-4 with a walk and three runs in Tuesday's 10-2 win over the Astros.

After drawing a walk in the first inning, Raleigh's hitless skid continued in his next two at-bats with a strikeout and a flyout, but he finally put an end to an 0-for-38 stretch at the plate in the seventh, when he sent a hard-hit single into right center. Raleigh followed with another base hit off AJ Blubaugh in his final at-bat off the night, offering hope to fantasy managers that better days are ahead for the reigning American League MVP runner-up. Even after reaching base three times Tuesday, Raleigh is still maintaining a lowly .249 on-base percentage for the season, placing him 171st among baseball's 176 qualified hitters.

Grissom will start at first base and bat leadoff in Wednesday's game versus the Guardians.

Zach Neto, who batted leadoff in each of the Angels' first 43 games this season, has been slumping and will bat sixth Wednesday. Grissom hit his second home run of the season in Tuesday's loss to Cleveland and sports a .922 OPS over his last five contests. It remains to be seen if this new arrangement will stick versus right-handed pitching -- the Angels are facing lefty Parker Messick on Wednesday -- but Grissom might get a chance to stake claim of the leadoff spot while Neto tries to snap out of his funk.

Neto will start at shortstop and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Guardians.

Neto batted leadoff in each of the Angels' first 43 contests this season, but he's being moved down to the No. 6 spot after slashing .181/.274/.289 with a 34.7 percent strikeout rate across his last 95 plate appearances. Vaughn Grissom is getting a turn at the top of the Angels' batting order Wednesday.

The Mariners designated Suarez for assignment Wednesday.

Suarez has now been dropped from a 40-man roster for a fourth time in 2026, with Atlanta (twice) and the Orioles having also designated him for assignment. Despite posting a bloated 6.38 ERA and 2.07 WHIP over 18.1 innings between Atlanta and Seattle this season, Suarez has excelled at making bats miss (career-best 26.7 K%). He could maintain some appeal for teams looking to bolster their swingman depth.

Baltimore recalled Handley from Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old was elevated to Baltimore as the corresponding move for Dylan Beavers (oblique) being placed on the 10-day IL. Handley will be the third catcher on Baltimore's 26-man roster, providing some insurance with Samuel Basallo regularly starting as the designated hitter.

The Orioles placed Beavers on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a right oblique strain, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Beavers hasn't played since Sunday, and an MRI on Wednesday revealed a strain that will likely sideline the outfielder for a few weeks. Manager Craig Albernaz said it's a "low grade" strain, so Beavers might not be out long. With Beavers out, Tyler O'Neill has made three consecutive starts in right field, and he should continue to see an uptick in playing time.

The Mariners reinstated Miller (oblique) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday in Houston.

The 27-year-old will be making his 2026 debut for the Mariners after spending the first seven weeks of the season on the shelf while recovering from a left oblique strain that he sustained early in spring training. Miller is coming off a rough 2025 campaign in which he compiled a 5.28 ERA and a middling 10.2 K-BB% over 18 starts during the regular season, though he fared better over his three playoff starts. The right-hander was generally sharp over his four-start rehab assignment (1.98 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, 14:7 K:BB in 13.2 innings), but he'll likely need to perform well upon his return from the shelf to ensure he maintains a spot in the Seattle rotation for the long haul. While Miller will receive a standalone start Wednesday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times relays that the Mariners plan to have him piggyback with the struggling Luis Castillo for a game during next week's series versus the White Sox. How Miller and Castillo perform in their next two appearances could determine which of the two remains in a starting role when the Mariners condense from a six-man to five-man rotation.

Muncy (hand) is still being held out of all baseball activities and has no timetable for a return, MLB.com reports.

Muncy landed on the injured list April 28 with a fractured fifth metacarpal in his left hand, an injury that originally stemmed from a hit-by-pitch April 13 against the Rangers. The early expectation was that his stay on the injured list would extend beyond the 10-day minimum, and that has proven to be the case. Additionally, a lack of any progression toward baseball activities suggests the young infielder is not especially close to returning to game action. Zack Gelof has recently seized regular opportunities at the hot corner in Muncy's absence.

Berroa (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment Wednesday in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Advancing to a rehab assignment represents the final stage of the recovery process for Berroa as he works his way back from Tommy John surgery, which he underwent March 7, 2025. The White Sox are likely to keep Berroa in the minors for close to the entirety of his allotted 30-day rehab window, so he shouldn't be expected to return from the 60-day injured list until early June. During his last healthy season with Chicago in 2024, Berroa made 17 appearances out of the bullpen and logged a 3.32 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 26:13 K:BB over 19 innings.
