Fulmer (0-1) took the loss after allowing two runs on one hit and one walk while striking out one over one-third of an inning Saturday against the Diamondbacks.

Fulmer entered for the bottom of the ninth in a 3-3 game and opened the frame by walking Ildemaro Vargas before giving up a walk-off, two-run blast to pinch hitter Pavin Smith. This was the Yankees' 11th walk-off loss of the season, and it also ended Fulmer's streak of five consecutive scoreless relief appearances. The veteran right-hander has a 1.38 ERA in 10 appearances with the Yankees.

Schlittler didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Diamondbacks after allowing three runs (one earned) on three hits and three walks while striking out six over six innings.

Schlittler was uncharacteristically wild in this one. Even though he held Arizona hitless through four innings, his own throwing error contributed to two unearned runs on Jordan Lawlar's two-out triple in the fifth. He received a 3-2 lead in the sixth but issued consecutive walks before Corbin Carroll's sacrifice fly tied the game. The three walks were his highest output since he issued five across 5.2 innings against Boston on Aug. 28, but he still posted a quality start. Schlittler, who has had a dominant season across the board, owns a 1.94 ERA and 234:47 K:BB across 32 starts and 190.2 innings in 2026. He's expected to make his final start of the season next week at home against the Orioles.

Contreras (hand) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

It's the third consecutive absence for Contreras after exiting Thursday's contest against the Rangers with a bruised right hand from a hit-by-pitch. The veteran slugger will have Monday's team off day to aid in his recovery ahead of Tuesday's series opener versus Cleveland. Nick Sogard is picking up another start at first base Sunday for the Red Sox.

Langford went 1-for-2 with two walks, an RBI, a stolen base and two runs scored in Saturday's 6-2 win over Toronto.

Langford has been an on-base machine for Texas over the last week, reaching base safely in all five plate appearances Friday. He's drawn walks and scored runs in four consecutive games. Over the last eight contests, Langford is 7-for-25 with eight walks (.455 OBP), two steals, two doubles, one home run, four RBI and seven runs scored.

Abreu is out of the lineup for Boston's matchup with Tampa Bay on Sunday.

Abreu will take a breather after striking out five times through the first two games of the series against the Rays. Nate Eaton will start in right field and bat ninth for the Red Sox.

Jung went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Blue Jays.

Jung, who was back at third base after two games as the designated hitter, putt the Rangers out front early with a first-inning home run. It was his second homer in the last three games and 11th overall for Jung, who has raked since coming off the injured list a little more than a week ago. He's 10-for-29 (.345) with two doubles, two home runs, four RBI and six runs scored over his last seven games.

Ferrer (4-4) took the loss after allowing two runs on two hits over one-third of an inning Saturday against the Rockies.

Ferrer inherited runners on the corners with one out in the seventh inning and Seattle leading 3-1. Jake McCarthy's RBI groundout cut the lead in half before a fielding miscue extended the inning, and TJ Rumfield followed with a game-tying RBI single. Ferrer was then replaced by Cooper Criswell, who allowed another inherited runner to score on Cole Carrigg's go-ahead two-run single. Ferrer has been inconsistent in recent weeks, and despite not allowing runs in six of his eight appearances this month, he sports a 5.06 ERA with a 6:2 K:BB in 5.1 innings since the beginning of September.

Miller didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Rockies after allowing an unearned run on four hits and two walks while striking out six over 5.1 innings.

Miller delivered a much-needed bounce-back performance, holding Colorado without an earned run after entering Saturday with a 6.52 ERA over 10 starts since the All-Star break. Despite the inflated ERA, Miller seems to be ending the regular season on a high note, as he's given up two or fewer earned runs in three of his past four starts. It remains to be seen if he'll make another start before the end of the regular season.

Cecconi (5-7) was credited with Saturday's win over the Yankees, retiring the final six batters with two strikeouts over two scoreless innings.

Starter Tanner Bibee was pulled with two outs in the fourth inning and Cleveland leading, 11-6. Two relievers combined for 2.1 scoreless innings (and three walks) before Cecconi entered to finish the final two frames. Apparently, because the two relievers that followed Bibee were deemed to be ineffective, the official scorer gave the win to Cecconi. Since coming off the injured list earlier this month, he's operated as a multi-inning reliever and has allowed four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out 11 over 10 innings in four appearances.

Miles is slated to start Sunday's game against the Rangers in Arlington, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.

Miles will pick up his eighth start of the season, but he hasn't covered more than two innings in any appearance since the beginning of August and is unlikely to work more than once through the batting order. Spencer Arrighetti will be available to pitch on four days' rest and could be called upon to cover multiple frames once Miles exits the contest, per Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca.
