Estrada has been shelved for the past three weeks with right elbow tendinitis but has been cleared to return after making a couple rehab appearances. Cubs' Daniel Palencia: Making rehab appearance Friday
Palencia (lat) will make a rehab appearance with Triple-A Iowa on Friday, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports.
The Cubs had left open the possibility of activating Palencia from the injured list Friday, but they've decided to have him pitch in a rehab game first. If the right-hander looks good Friday, it could be the only rehab outing he needs before returning to the active roster.

Dillon Head OF | MIA
Marlins' Dillon Head: Out with wrist injury
Head was placed on High-A Beloit's 7-day injured list after suffering a wrist injury April 11, FishOnFirst.com reports.
The Marlins were initially hoping Head would avoid a stint on the IL, but he hasn't played in three weeks. The outfielder was off to a poor start to the season with Beloit, going 1-for-20 with a 2:4 BB:K over his first six games.

Marlins' Aiva Arquette: Back in action at High-A
Arquette (groin) has gone 3-for-8 with three doubles, five RBI, two runs and one stolen base in two games since being reinstated from High-A Beloit's 7-day injured list Tuesday.
Arquette missed the first month of the season after undergoing core muscle surgery in late February. The 22-year-old infielder has returned to Beloit after posting a .673 OPS at High-A in his first professional season in 2025, but Arquette's hot start could put him in line for a quick promotion to Double-A Pensacola.

Paul DeJong SS | DET
Paul DeJong: Becomes free agent
The Yankees released DeJong on Friday after he exercised the opt-out clause in his minor-league contract, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
The opportunity for DeJong at the major-league level wasn't there, so he will seek employment elsewhere. DeJong has slashed .203/.361/.516 with six home runs and a 16:18 BB:K in 23 games at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season. The veteran infielder should draw interest from other teams, but he might have to accept another minor-league deal.
