  • Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Expected to rest in Week 18

The Chiefs are likely to rest Mahomes and other key starters dealing with minor injuries in their Week 18 game in Denver, Jay Glazer reported on "Fox NFL Sunday."

With its win over the Steelers on Christmas Day, the Chiefs clinched the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs and thus have little at stake in the regular-season finale. While head coach Andy Reid likely won't disclose his plans for how the team will approach the Denver game until later in the week, Glazer specifically mentions that Mahomes and Chris Jones (calf) -- both of whom have appeared on injury reports in recent games -- will be rested, along with any other key player nursing an injury. Mahomes sustained a mild high-ankle sprain in the Chiefs' Week 15 win over the Browns, but he's managed to play through the injury at a high level over the last two games, completing 72.2 percent of his passes for 580 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions and adding 45 yards and a score on the ground. Carson Wentz will likely step in as the starter next weekend, which would give Mahomes three weeks of healing time before the Chiefs' postseason opener in the divisional round.

  • Buccaneers' Michael Pratt: Inactive in Week 17

Pratt (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's matchup with the Panthers.

Pratt was elevated from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, but he wasn't designated as the emergency third quarterback, so Kyle Trask will be the only signal-caller available behind Baker Mayfield in Week 17. The seventh-round pick of the Packers has yet to enter a regular-season game in his rookie campaign.

  • Tim Boyle QB | TEN

Giants' Tim Boyle: Emergency QB Sunday

Boyle (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Colts, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

The third quarterback would need starter Drew Lock and backup Tommy DeVito to get injured, sick or ejected to be able to enter the contest. Boyle has appeared in one game since signing with the Giants in November, and that came when Lock was out with an injury and DeVito had to exit due to a concussion.

  • Ian Book QB | PHI

Eagles' Ian Book: Serving as emergency QB in Week 17

Book (coach's decision) is inactive and has been deemed Philadelphia's emergency third quarterback Sunday versus Dallas.

Book was signed to the active roster Saturday after Jalen Hurts was ruled out for Week 17 due to a concussion. Kenny Pickett will be the Eagles' starting signal-caller Sunday, while Tanner McKee is set to work as his backup. Book will be able to enter the game only if both Pickett and McKee are unavailable due to injury, illness or ejection.

  • Jameis Winston QB | NYG

Browns' Jameis Winston: Likely to be inactive Sunday

Winston, who is questionable for Sunday's game against Miami due to a shoulder injury, is expected to be inactive as Cleveland's emergency third quarterback, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Winston has been dealing with a shoulder issue since last week and appears in line to be inactive for a second straight Sunday. The veteran signal-caller was deemed the Browns' emergency third quarterback for last week's loss to the Bengals, with Dorian Thompson-Robinson getting the start and Bailey Zappe working as the No. 2 signal-caller.

  • Rams' Matthew Stafford: Slump continues

Stafford completed 17 of 32 passes for 189 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Saturday's 13-9 win over the Cardinals. He added six rushes for 16 yards.

Stafford did enough to win and avoided both turnovers and sacks, but he still struggled to get the Rams' offense going. The primary exception came on a drive midway through the second quarter, when he connected on a deep pass to Cooper Kupp for 29 yards and also found Puka Nacua for a gain of 19 to set up a one-yard touchdown run for Kyren Williams. Otherwise, the only thing working for Stafford was targeting Nacua, who was on the receiving end of 10 completions. Overall, Stafford has now failed to reach 200 passing yards in four of his last five games and has only one total touchdown combined across his last three contests.

  • Kyler Murray QB | ARI

Cardinals' Kyler Murray: Standout numbers marred by INTs

Murray completed 33 of 48 passes for 321 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions and rushed four times for 32 yards in the Cardinals' 13-9 loss to the Rams on Saturday night.

Murray's season-best passing yardage total came on a season-high number of completions and pass attempts, but his pair of turnovers played a key part in the loss. Both of the star signal-caller's interceptions transpired in the Rams' end zone, the first on a 40-yard heave on fourth down with 3:15 remaining. After Arizona got the ball back, Murray had the Cardinals marching toward a potential game-winning touchdown when his pass for Trey McBride bounced off the tight end's helmet just short of the goal line, and the Rams' Ahkello Witherspoon pulled off an acrobatic pick that survived replay. Prior to that unfortunate turn of events, Murray did facilitate McBride's long-awaited first receiving touchdown of the season on a one-yard toss to cap off the first drive of the second half. Murray will have one chance to atone in a Week 18 home matchup against the 49ers.

  • Bo Nix QB | DEN

Broncos' Bo Nix: Impressive Week 17 showing

Nix completed 24 of 31 passes for 219 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in Saturday's 30-24 overtime loss to the Bengals. He added seven rushes for 31 yards.

Nix didn't match the exceptional stat line of his counterpart Joe Burrow, but he was impressive in his own right. After struggling to move the offense in the first half, he led a trio of touchdown drives in the final two quarters. The performance was highlighted by a pair of long touchdown passes to Marvin Mims, the first being a 51-yard deep shot and the second coming on a 25-yard desperation heave with only eight seconds remaining in regulation. Nix now has at least three passing scores in three of his last six games after accomplishing that only once in his first 10 games as a pro.

  • Joe Burrow QB | CIN

Bengals' Joe Burrow: Keeps playoff hopes alive

Burrow completed 39 of 49 passes for 412 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions in Saturday's 30-24 overtime win against the Broncos. He added four rushes for 25 yards and an additional score.

Burrow had no trouble moving the Bengals' offense at any point in the game, though it took some time for the unit to find the end zone. He ultimately accounted for all four of Cincinnati's touchdowns, with passing scores of two, 12 and three yards as well as a one-yard sneak late in the fourth quarter. Burrow now has at least three passing touchdowns in eight straight games and has topped 350 passing yards four times in that span. With the thrilling overtime win, Cincinnati's playoff hopes remain alive as Burrow leads the team into a Week 18 showdown with the Steelers.

  • Drake Maye QB | NE

Patriots' Drake Maye: Struggles against tough defense

Maye completed 12 of 22 passes for 117 yards and one touchdown against the Chargers on Saturday. He also rushed six times for 32 yards in the Patriots' 40-7 loss.

Maye briefly left the game in the first quarter for a concussion evaluation, but the team doctors evidently concluded Maye was fine. The problem is that the Chargers defense dominated anyway, rarely giving the Patriots breathing room outside of a 36-yard touchdown strike to DeMario Douglas on a free play. Given the conditions, Maye was promising overall, even though the game was a bleak one for the Patriots. They'll attempt to regain their dignity against the Bills in Week 18.
