The Steelers placed Porter (back) on the active/PUP list Tuesday.

Porter was off to the side on an exercise bike during spring practices, and he aggravated a back issue Tuesday morning, according to Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com. There's been no indication Porter is dealing with a long-term issue. He dealt with elbow, hip and hamstring injuries last season, limiting him to 14 regular-season contests.

The Eagles are signing Carter to a four-year extension worth up to $160 million, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Carter's new deal runs through the 2031 season and includes $106 million guaranteed, making him the highest-paid defensive tackle in NFL history. During the 2025 regular season, Carter played 12 games, recording 33 tackles (21 solo), including 3.0 sacks, and seven passes defended. The 2023 first-rounder -- who has been selected to each of the past two Pro Bowls -- is set to remain a key cog on the Eagles' defensive line for the foreseeable future.

Though Richardson's trade request is still on the table, GM Chris Ballard's stance regarding the QB's status remains unchanged, Kevin Bowen of 1075thefan.com reports.

Ballard said the current intention is for the Colts to carry three quarterbacks into the regular season, and for now Richardson remains in the backup mix behind Daniel Jones, along with Riley Leonard and Easton Stick. Regarding Richardson, whom the team took fourth overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, Ballard noted, "We are not just giving him away." It's still possible that another team looking for QB depth will explore dealing for Richardson in the coming weeks, but for now he's on track to compete for slotting behind Jones (Achilles), who indicated Monday that he'll be full go to start training camp.

Jones (neck) has been cleared to participate in training camp, Mark Kaboly of 93.7 The Fan Pittsburgh reports.

Jones suffered a neck injury in Week 12 that kept him out for the rest of the 2025 season. The 25-year-old's return makes for an interesting competition at Pittsburgh's tackle positions. With Troy Fautanu presumably locked in at one of the tackle spots, the other starting role will likely come down to Jones or Max Iheanachor, whom Pittsburgh drafted No. 21 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft. Given the team declined to pick up Jones' fifth-year option, his future on the roster could be in doubt if he's unable to win the starting job.

Kent (knee) was placed on the active/PUP list Tuesday, Mark Kaboly of 93.7 The Fan Pittsburgh reports.

Kent went down with a foot injury at the start of 2025 training camp but returned in December only to suffer a torn ACL, derailing his rookie season. The 2025 seventh-round pick will need to be cleared in order to practice, and the recovery timeline could impact his ability to make the roster after Pittsburgh drafted Daylen Everette in the third round this past draft.

Mayfield and the Buccaneers are not expected to engage in further contract talks prior to the start of the regular season, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.

Mayfield previously set a self-imposed deadline to finalize any new extension by the start of training camp, and with Wednesday's camp kickoff right around the corner, it appears the 31-year-old quarterback will play out 2026 on the final year of his deal. That leaves Mayfield in position to potentially hit free agency in 2027, though Tampa Bay will always have the option to deploy the franchise tag or negotiate an extension prior to the onset of free agency. Mayfield is looking to bounce back from a 2025 campaign in which he was held back by injuries, but he surpassed 4,000 passing yards in both of his prior seasons, including his 4,500-yard, 41-TD showing in the 2024 regular season.

The Steelers have placed Ramsey (knee) on the active/physically unable to perform list to start training camp, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.

According to GM Omar Khan, Ramsey suffered a knee injury during the team's minicamp, but the defensive back's absence isn't expected to be a lengthy one. "We're going to be smart about it. He's a pro," said Khan. "You guys know how hard he works. If I had to guess I would say it's probably going to be a couple of weeks." Once he's cleared to practice, Ramsey will reclaim his key role in Pittsburgh's secondary, on the heels of a 2025 regular season in which he recorded 88 tackles and a pick in 17 games.

Aaron Rodgers said Tuesday he has high expectations for Wilson this season, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports.

"I expect him to start to make some splash plays," Rodgers said. "He did in the spring. I expect him to have a nice camp." Rodgers was "practically glowing" when talking about Wilson on Tuesday, according to Saunders. Wilson logged just 33 percent of the offensive snaps in his 13 regular-season appearances last season and was essentially running wind sprints, as he was targeted only 21 times across those games and caught 12 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns. The 2024 third-round pick has a real chance to win the WR3 job behind DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman, however, as Wilson's main competition will be second-round rookie Germie Bernard. New coach Mike McCarthy is also expected to use more three-wide sets and fewer TE-heavy packages than outgoing offensive coordinator Arthur Smith.

The chemistry between Brown and Drake Maye has been noticeably off through the first three days of training camp, Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald reports.

Maye has completed just one of seven passes with an interception when targeting Brown in team drills through the first three days of practice. The lone completion was a wide-open quick out, and the duo is "far off" on deeper routes. It's not time to panic, of course, with 43 days before the start of the regular season to iron out any issues. Brown is currently being drafted as a top-20 pick in best-ball formats.

Mayfield and the Buccaneers have made no real progress toward a contract extension with training camp slated to begin Wednesday, July 29, Jeremy Fowler and Jenna Laine of ESPN.com report.

Mayfield remains under contract for 2026 and is locked in as Tampa Bay's starter, but the lack of movement keeps his long-term status unsettled as camp begins. The stalemate does not materially change his fantasy outlook in redraft formats, though a contract-year setup adds pressure for Mayfield to rebound after an injury-marred 2025 season. The former Cleveland QB has previously expressed a desire to conclude negotiations prior to the start of training camp in order to keep his full focus on team activities.
