  • Nick Jensen D | OTT

Senators' Nick Jensen: Contributes first assist of season

Jensen supplied an assist and blocked two shots in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Islanders.

This was Jensen's first point in six outings this season. The better news for the Senators is that he appears to be fully recovered after undergoing hip surgery in the offseason, as he's been able to hold down a bottom-four role. The 35-year-old defenseman has posted eight hits, five blocked shots, a minus-3 rating and four shots on net. He's reached the 20-point mark in three of the last four years, but that would likely be a best-case scenario for his offense in 2025-26.

  • Lightning's Ryan McDonagh: Three points in last five games

McDonagh scored a goal in a 3-2 loss to Columbus on Saturday.

McDonagh fired a wrist shot from the top of the left circle that deflected off Jet Greaves' glove and the crossbar and went in. The goal tied the game 1-1 at 12:42 of the first. McDonagh has delivered three points, including two goals, in his last five games. His best offensive seasons are behind him, but the veteran defender can deliver a third consecutive 30-plus point campaign with a strong plus-minus and as many as 150 blocks.

  • Adam Pelech D | NYI

Islanders' Adam Pelech: Nabs first helper

Pelech posted an assist and went plus-2 in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Senators.

Pelech helped out on a Kyle Palmieri equalizer in the third period. This was Pelech's first point through five games. The 31-year-old blueliner will be leaned on for shutdown minutes this season, perhaps even more so with a couple of capable offensive defensemen in Matthew Schaefer and Tony DeAngelo on the roster. Pelech has racked up three blocked shots, seven shots on net and a plus-4 rating to begin the campaign.

  • Islanders' Matthew Schaefer: Sets record with helper

Schaefer notched an assist, two shots on goal and two blocked shots in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Senators.

Schaefer is the youngest player in NHL history to start his career with a five-game point streak, per Stefen Rosner of The Hockey News. In his first five games, Schaefer has accumulated a goal, four assists, 15 shots on net, four blocked shots, two hits and a minus-1 rating. The 18-year-old continues to impress, and he's bordering on must-have status in fantasy.

  • Owen Power D | BUF

Sabres' Owen Power: Adds insurance goal

Power scored a goal on two shots in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Panthers.

Power missed the season opener due to an illness, but he has played in the last four games. The 22-year-old has two points, seven shots on net, five hits, four blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating while occupying a top-four role. Power is seeing time in all situations, and while he's not a physical player, he has enough scoring potential to carry upside in fantasy.

  • Stars' Nils Lundkvist : Expected to miss some time

Lundkvist (lower body) is expected to be "out for a little bit," head coach Glen Gulutzan told Sam Nestler of DLLS Stars on Saturday.

Lundkvist missed Saturday's 3-1 loss to St. Louis, and it sounds like that won't be the extent of his time on the shelf. The 25-year-old has a goal and three points in four outings this year. Ilya Lyubushkin will probably play regularly while Lundkvist is unavailable.

  • Hurricanes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Suffers injury Saturday

Gostisbehere (lower body) won't return to Saturday's game versus the Kings.

Gostisbehere's injury puts the Hurricanes' defense in a bad spot. Jaccob Slavin (lower body) is not expected to play during the current road trip, which has three more games. This could force Charles-Alexis Legault into action for his NHL debut Monday in Vegas if Gostisbehere can't suit up.

  • Senators' Thomas Chabot: Two-point effort in loss

Chabot collected two assists, one on the power play, in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Islanders.

The veteran blueliner set up David Perron for the game's opening goal late in the first period, then had a hand in a Shane Pinto tally early in the second. Chabot was held off the scoresheet through the Senators' first four games of the season, but he's gotten rolling with three assists in the last two contests.

  • Bruins' Hampus Lindholm: Set to return Saturday

Lindholm (lower body) is expected to play Saturday versus Colorado, per Belle Fraser of the Bruins' official site.

Lindholm missed three straight games due to the injury. He has no points, a minus-1 rating, two shots and three blocks in two appearances this year. Lindholm will serve on the second pairing alongside Andrew Peeke on Saturday. Jordan Harris, who played in Boston's previous three games, is expected to be a healthy scratch.

  • Sharks' Timothy Liljegren: Might travel with team

Liljegren (upper body) will probably join the Sharks on their upcoming four-game road trip, which begins Tuesday against the Islanders, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports Saturday.

Liljegren will miss his second straight game when the Sharks face Pittsburgh on Saturday. It remains unclear when he will be able to return to the lineup, and he will need to come off injured reserve first. He has no points, a minus-2 rating, two PIM, one shot, three hits and 10 blocks in three outings this year. Liljegren might serve in San Jose's top four once he's available.
