    Flames' Devin Cooley: Tending twine Saturday

    Cooley will be between the visiting pipes versus the Islanders on Saturday, Derek Wills of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.

    Cooley was burned for six goals on 28 shots in a 7-3 loss in Washington on Monday and will attempt to make amends versus the Islanders. Cooley is 7-8-4 with a very good 2.45 GAA and an impressive .917 save percentage across 23 appearances this season. The Islanders dropped a 3-2 decision to Los Angeles on Friday and sit in third place in the Metropolitan Division with 79 points, two ahead of the fourth-place Blue Jackets.

  • Lightning's Declan Carlile: Moves to IR

    Carlile (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, per the NHL media site.

    Carlile will miss at least the next three games, starting with Saturday's matchup against Carolina, after landing on the IR list. However, it's unclear when he will be ready to return to the lineup. He has chipped in one goal, three points, 29 shots on net, 30 blocked shots and 46 hits across 38 NHL appearances this season.

    Flyers' Dan Vladar: Facing Blue Jackets

    Vladar was the first goaltender off the ice at morning practice, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports, and is slated to patrol the home crease versus Columbus on Saturday.

    Vladar has excelled this season with the Flyers, posting a 21-11-6 record over a career-high 40 appearances. He has a career-best 2.50 GAA and a .904 save percentage in his first season with Philadelphia. The Blue Jackets are red-hot, going 15-2-4 since Jan. 11.

    Senators' Nick Jensen: Out for at least two games

    Jensen (lower body) won't play against Anaheim on Saturday and will miss Sunday's game against San Jose, according to Julian McKenzie of The Athletic.

    It's unclear if Jensen will be ready to play versus Washington on Wednesday. He remains day-to-day after missing Friday's practice. Dennis Gilbert will replace Jensen in Saturday's lineup against the Ducks.

    Canadiens' Cole Caufield: Playing Saturday

    Caufield (illness) will return to the lineup versus San Jose on Saturday, according to RDS.ca.

    Caufield missed Wednesday's contest versus Ottawa and was limited by his illness in Tuesday's tilt versus Toronto, but he has recovered and will be back on the top line with the Habs on Saturday. Caufield has 37 goals and 64 points in 63 games this season, including 21 points with the man advantage.

    Ullmark will protect the home net against Anaheim on Saturday, per Claire Hanna of TSN.

    Ullmark is coming off a 20-save effort in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to Montreal. He has a 19-9-7 record this campaign with one shutout, a 2.85 GAA and an .883 save percentage across 36 appearances. Anaheim sits 13th in the league with 3.25 goals per game this season.

    Devils' Jake Allen: Starting Saturday

    Allen will patrol the home crease versus Los Angeles on Saturday, per Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site.

    Allen will make his first start since Feb. 25, a span of seven games. He will look to snap a four-game losing streak in which he has allowed 11 goals on 102 shots (.892 save percentage). Allen is 12-15-1 with a 2.64 GAA and a .906 save percentage over 29 outings this season. The Kings will be a tired team, coming off a 3-2 win on Long Island on Friday.

  • Sabres' Mattias Samuelsson: Doubtful for Saturday

    Samuelsson (undisclosed) is doubtful for Saturday's matchup against Toronto, according to Jourdon LaBarber of the Sabres' official site.

    Samuelsson didn't participate in Friday's practice and skipped Saturday's well-attended optional morning skate. He has produced 12 goals, 36 points, 94 shots on net, 130 blocked shots and 109 hits across 64 appearances this season. With Samuelsson unlikely to play, Zach Metsa or Michael Kesselring could draw back into the lineup after being healthy scratches in Thursday's 5-1 win over Pittsburgh.

    Sabres' Colten Ellis: Remains out of action

    Ellis (undisclosed) will not suit up versus Toronto on Saturday, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports.

    Ellis last saw action Feb. 3, stopping 31 shots in a 4-3 overtime loss to Tampa Bay. He is 7-4-1 with a 3.11 GAA and an .896 save percentage across 13 outings this season. Ellis is currently the Sabres' third-string goaltender, as Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and Alex Lyon are ahead of him on the Sabres' depth chart.

    Sabres' Alex Tuch: Slated to play

    Tuch (lower body) is expected to play against Toronto on Saturday, per Jourdon LaBarber of the Sabres' official site.

    After sitting out Thursday's 5-1 win over Pittsburgh, Tuch should return to a top-line role against the Maple Leafs on Saturday. He has generated 28 goals, 57 points, 155 shots on net, 74 blocked shots and 69 hits across 64 appearances this season.
