  • Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW

Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Back in action at Triple-A

Dalbec (wrist) has returned to action for Triple-A Worcester.

Dalbec was hit by a pitch on his left wrist in late June and missed some time. The infielder returned to action July 5 and is 13-for-40 with three home runs and nine RBI over 10 games. That includes Wednesday's win over Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in which he started a 5-4-3 triple play.

  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

Giants' LaMonte Wade: Not in Thursday's lineup

Wade is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Cincinnati, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Wade is dealing with a hamstring injury, although he might not have been in the lineup anyway with the Reds throwing lefty Andrew Abbott. He did do some running and hitting on the field pregame and might be available off the bench. Wilmer Flores will handle first base.

  • Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Held out again Thursday

Vaughn (foot) remains out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets.

Vaughn fouled a ball off his foot during Tuesday's loss to the Mets and will now miss a second straight start. The White Sox are going with Jake Burger at first base and Zach Remillard at third.

  • Rhys Hoskins 1B | CLE

Phillies' Rhys Hoskins: Playoff return not ruled out

Hoskins (knee) could potentially return this season if the Phillies make a deep postseason run, MLB.com reports.

Hoskins did some running on the field on July 14, the first time he's done so since he underwent ACL surgery in late March. His teammate, Kyle Schwarber, had ACL surgery in early April of 2016 and made it back for the World Series, so Hoskins has that as a guidepost. Ultimately, the odds of the Phillies making another deep playoff run and Hoskins being available are long, but it hasn't been ruled out.

  • Josh Bell DH | MIN

Guardians' Josh Bell: Homers again, collects three hits

Bell went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Wednesday's 7-5 loss to the Pirates.

Bell drove home a run in the top of the fifth with a single to put the Guardians up 4-0 and later added a solo shot to left field as Cleveland tried (unsuccessfully) to mount a late comeback. The first baseman tallied three hits on the afternoon, marking his fourth three-hit game this season, and he's now registered multiple hits in back-to-back games. Bell has also homered in each of his last two games while adding four RBI.

  • C.J. Cron 1B | BOS

Rockies' C.J. Cron: Wraps up strong homestand

Cron went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Wednesday against the Astros.

Cron accounted for the Rockies' lone run of the game with his 10th homer of the season. He started five of the team's six games during the homestand and went deep three times to go along with six RBI and six runs scored. Cron's overall line has been limited due to a lengthy absence caused by a back injury, though he now boasts a .215 ISO across 202 plate appearances -- in line with his career norm.

  • Matt Beaty 1B | KC

Royals' Matt Beaty: Beginning rehab assignment

Beaty (concussion) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Omaha on Wednesday.

Beaty has been out since late June. The infielder will likely need a handful of games to get back up to speed before potentially rejoining the Royals' roster.

  • Josh Lester 1B | KC

Orioles' Josh Lester: Designated for assignment

The Orioles designated Lester for assignment Wednesday, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

After acquiring Shintaro Fujinami in a trade with Oakland on Wednesday, the Orioles were forced to push Lester off the 40-man roster to make room for Fujinami. Lester is slashing .273/.326/.504 with 15 homers and 62 RBI through 291 plate appearances in Triple-A this season and could certainly be claimed off waivers in the next few days.

  • Ryan Noda 1B | BAL

Athletics' Ryan Noda: Diagnosed with jaw fracture

Oakland placed Noda on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a fractured jaw, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Noda suffered the injury Tuesday when he took a grounder to the face during pregame fielding practice, though he still somehow managed to homer and double in what was a 3-0 victory for the Athletics before then being scratched from the starting lineup Wednesday. It's unclear at this point how long he might be sidelined or whether he might require a surgical repair. The 27-year-old first baseman has posted a strong .794 OPS with 11 home runs through his first 341 major-league plate appearance this season.

  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

Giants' LaMonte Wade: Not in lineup Wednesday

Wade (hamstring) is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Reds.

Wade made an early exit from Tuesday's game due to left hamstring cramping and will grab a day of rest and treatment. Wilmer Flores is covering first base and batting third Wednesday at Cincinnati, with Joc Pederson handling leadoff duties.
