Enrique Hernandez 3B | LAD
Red Sox's Enrique Hernandez: On base four times
Hernandez went 1-for-2 with two walks, was hit by a pitch and scored a run in Friday's 7-1 win over Texas.
Hernandez remained in the leadoff spot despite a .232 on base percentage and reached base four times. After losing the leadoff job, manager Alex Cora returned him to the top spot four games ago. He was 0-for-13 with one walk over the first three of those contests. Hernandez also made a diving catch in right-center, robbing Nick Solak of extra bases in the bottom of the third inning after Boston had taken a 1-0 lead in the top half of the frame.

Marcus Semien 2B | NYM
Rangers' Marcus Semien: Extends hitless run
Semien went 0-for-4 in Friday's 7-1 loss to Boston.
Semien extended a streak of futility to 21 at-bats without a hit, dropping his season average to .160. History suggests he'll come around. Over his career, May and August have been his best months, during which his average is .266.

Josh Rojas 3B | CHW
Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Swipes another bag
Rojas went 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 4-3 win over the Cubs.
Rojas reached base safely for a sixth straight game since coming off the injured list and has swiped bags in consecutive games. He's settling in as the team's primary third baseman, although manager Torey Lovullo is shuttling three infielders -- Rojas, Nick Ahmed and Geraldo Perdomo -- between third and shortstop.

Andres Gimenez SS | TOR
Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Goes yard in loss
Gimenez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Friday's 12-8 loss to the Twins.
Gimenez's ninth-inning blast got the Guardians within four runs, but that was as close as it got. He's hit safely in seven of 10 games in May, boosting his slash line to .329/.348/.565 in 89 plate appearances. The shortstop has added four home runs, 19 RBI, 11 runs scored and a pair of stolen bases while earning a starting role in the bottom half of the lineup.

Brendan Rodgers 2B | BOS
Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Erupts in return
Rodgers went 3-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, two runs and four RBI in a 14-10 loss to Kansas City on Friday.
After being shelved since Monday due to a hand injury, Rodgers returned to double and score in the second inning, double home two in the fifth and blast a solo shot in the seventh for his first three-hit game of the season. The 25-year-old batted an abysmal .078 through 51 April at-bats but is now 13-for-35 in May with six of those hits going for extra bases.

Brandon Drury 2B | KC
Reds' Brandon Drury: Homers and drives in four
Drury went 2-for-5 with a homer and four RBI in Friday's win over the Pirates.
Drury stretched the Reds' lead to three runs in the top of the fifth with a two-RBI double and extended the lead to five with a two-run homer two innings later. The performance -- Drury's fifth multi-hit game in May -- continued the utility man's excellent start, improving his slash line across his first 28 games to .260/.339/.563.

Jose Altuve 2B | HOU
Astros' Jose Altuve: Exits early as precaution
Altuve exited Friday's game against the Nationals as a precaution after slipping on the grass, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Altuve was replaced at second base by Niko Goodrum in the bottom of the ninth inning with the Astros up by five runs, circumstances which seemingly back up the idea that the team isn't particularly worried about his health. He was due for a day off Saturday anyway according to manager Dusty Baker, so the Astros can be doubly sure the veteran isn't dealing with any serious issue. Altuve went 1-for-4 with a solo homer to lead off the game prior to his early exit.

Tony Kemp 2B | MIN
Athletics' Tony Kemp: Records third stolen base
Kemp went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run in a win over the Tigers on Thursday.
The veteran leadoff man has now reached safely in six straight games, and with three steals through 31 contests, he's on pace to exceed the career-high nine he posted with the Astros in 2018. However, with just a .226 average and .583 OPS, Kemp still has a long way to go before satisfying the expectations of fantasy managers who invested based on last season's career-best .279/.382/.418 slash line.

Jahmai Jones DH | DET
Orioles' Jahmai Jones: Out with elbow inflammation
Jones was placed on the 7-day injured list for Triple-A Norfolk on Friday due to right elbow inflammation, Andy Kostka of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Jones has been with Norfolk since the start of the season, hitting a modest .212/.339/.343 with two homers and two steals through 27 games. He'll need to get healthy and then improve his performance level if he's to push for a return to the majors.

Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC
Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Still day-to-day
Hoerner (ankle) remains sidelined Friday against the Diamondbacks.
Hoerner left Wednesday's game against the Padres after spraining his right ankle. He's not yet ready to start even after Thursday's scheduled off day, but he remains merely day-to-day. Ildemaro Vargas will start at shortstop Friday.
